  • cute... it tries to bite the ball xD

  • Nice!

  • How do you pronounce Sulcata? Is it like suh-kay-tuh or suh-Kaw-tuh?

  • That is lovely I am going to try this with my Tort now

  • so cute :P

  • That is so wonderfully amazing! I never would have thought to give a turtle a toy - now that I see your happy turtle, wny not?! They are perfectly intelligent animals.

Thank you for sharing this video.

  • man I wanna see my turtle play with items, Mine is so lazy, she does nothing but look cute

  • how can you guys tell whats wrong with the turtle just by looking at it. does the shell give it away?

  • it's not deformed. it's just high in calcium. It might not be 100% perfect diet, but it has ZERO effect on it's long term health. Go read a book about turtles and stop saying things that are just retarded.

  • Soccer anyone?

  • Dammit, the dogs make it look so easy!

  • Damn that things heavy, Its like bending the floor. You see how the ball just curves right into it

  • How did markmoonwalk know the tortoise is on the wrong diet?

  • @winkosmosis it has whats called pyramid shell. the shell grows all deformed from eating the wrong diet. this type of tortoise should have a domed shape shell instead of spiked or pointed the way it is

  • how did you get the ball to keep moving

  • ya fuck

  • doesnt pyramiding happen when there dehydrated

  • what kinda ball is that? (like what is it made of?)

  • @chiporama i think it is some really hard plastic with water in it.

  • @chiporama

    Babies.

  • they are usually attracted to bright colors, so it was just trying to eat the ball lmao but it def looks like its playing with it very cute 5/5

  • bad shell

  • Please explain your comment regarding "bad shell." Does this tortoise need more calcium powder on his greens? What is a good shell?

  • @MMfanAZ

No, his shell is perfectly fine. The owner has done a great job with this tort.

  • how old is it

  • He's training to play five a side tortoise soccer!

    Cool video. :-D

  • Sweet

Nearly all turtles dont grow any bigger than about 150cm.

The largest domestic breed I know of is the giant tortoise which is about 100cm around and about 100 cm and it's peak of it's pyramids.

But most tortoises are very small, so I wouldn't worry, but you shouldn't need to keep it inside, because like all animals, it enjoys being outside.

  • No tortoise grows 150cm. Maybe a very large Galápagos tortoise but i wouldnt call them domestic.

The Aldabran Tortoise would be the biggest "domestic" tortoise you can get around 120cm.

  • holy shit that is awesome.

teach it to play guitar hero, and you're set.

  • dude! that'd be freakin awesome if a tortoise could play Guitar Hero! lol

  • yeah but not only can mine play guitar hero it can play rockband!

  • cool i wish mine could do thatxD

  • Good vid

  • Im the only thing my tort can stand too. As soon as he hears someone elses voice, hes in his shell. He hears me and hes coming to see what I have for him. Wish mine would chase balls.

  • my tort hates balls. everytime i roll one to it, it either goes into its shell and hides or gets very defensive and starts ramming it.

  • It's not playing, it is trying to taste the object, so in a way it is a form of teasing, a bit like putting a hamster in a 'play' ball or dangling a carrot in front of a donkey ;)

  • lol. the all rolls around and hits him in the side

  • got mine from tunisia 4 years ago, tried loads of different veg. he will only eat lettuce, i give him fruit about once a fortnight. small piece. have him indoors, weather in ireland not to good. tried cuttlefish dust but he will not take to it. any tips on substrait. i use small dried bark. should i have it deep for him to dig?

  • Sulcatas are not from Tunisia and if you brought a tortoise out of the country you were breaking the law. Just a thought!

  • thanks for telling everyone that. i'm waiting for the door to be knocked down

  • On recommendation of the breeder we got our African Tortoise from, we use Rabbit Pellets (alfafla pellets) as bedding. As for how deep? We only use it in the winter when he has to be indoors but we put in about 2+" and he just scatters them, not really good for digging. They smell good and if they eat one, it is not going to hurt them. But I have never seen our Tortoise eat them as he would rather eat his Romaine. Hope that helps! Check out Big'Un the African Tortoise here on YouTube!

  • that was so funny

  • Mola mola!!! me gusta como juega con su pelota ;)

  • Poor thing's carapace is so deformed (pyramiding). Hope he/she's in better hands now ...

  • Its not that bad...

  • were is he deformed?!

  • it's shell.

  • I have a 2 1/2 year old Sulcata. I'll have to get him a ball. I thought all he liked to do was explore, dig and of course EAT! Great video. =)

  • that's awesome, but I believe he thinks that is the biggest blueberry ever, not so much a toy :)

  • figa! :-)

  • your tortoise is on the wrong diet, MBD bad!

  • No need to be concerned. We are a non-profit turtle & tortoise rescue (Indiana Turtle Care, Inc) and this was a turtle that was relinquished to us. It is now in California.

  • @itczoo im in indiana too!

  • try a red ball that he can't get a bite out of, they love the color red, mine goes after my painted toenails if i'm not careful, i think he thinks they are strawberries or apple pieces. Fruit isn't good for them though. I've heard soccer balls can draw their attention, i think the pattern reminds them of another tortoise.

  • That's pretty cool....you wouldn't think torts would like to play. Thanks for sharing !
