  • Why is it that it seems the coolest and biggest music festivals are all somewhere in Europe? I've seen a lot of relatively new artists like Florence & the Machine and now Mumford & Sons play in seemingly huge outdoor arenas in various European countries. Plus, unlike American concerts, the crowd doesn't seem 'drunk rowdy' but are all still absorbed in the performances. and their cinematography captures the essence of the performance so much better.

  • Man I wish they would put out some more music on iTunes! I am so in love with this band. Wish I could see them live!!!!

  • love this performance just cuz of the violin they added! love it!

  • Respect for the whole bluuegrass vibe coming out on this sesh.

    Good job boys

  • Fascinating to read the love, hate, comparison, digs etc. All that matters, surely, is that the music sounds great and leaves you with a smile on your face

  • He is literally steaming!

  • wow.. goosebumps upon my entire body! How could anyone dislike this??

  • @Steoandnoodles1 yep, he did! unfortunately BBC "blocked" al the footage of this show so i cant show it to you anymore...

  • Does anyone know what Marcus is doing at :50? Awesome performance, I would have given a leg to be there,

  • @handknitviolin He is telling the sound man to turn his guitar up in the monitor. He must have felt he couldn't hear himself well enough.

  • @jedd1995 Thanks!

  • @Steoandnoodles1

thats fair enough likes. but musicians will do what they do! haha they're completely mental! i should know as i am one :P don't play folk stuff though, im a cellist :L but i can understand what i think is the reason they dress folky :)

  • i think the only reason people mention fleet floxes and mumford and sons in 1 line is because Marcus mentioned them during this show... he called them the one of the best bands in the world.. thats all!

  • tell the women at 1:48, im inlove, lol :D

  • the reason people argue with mumford and sons and fleet foxes is because, if you ask me, fleet foxes are passionate and genuine and unpretentious and put alot of thought and soul into their work, mumford and sons, imo, are maybe a little more glorified and over rated and are like wealthy english boys pretending to be country folk musicians, just saying

  • I was there, it was amazing, thankyou for the beautiful music : )

  • I want to go back in time and be there!

  • Wish I was there!!

  • Amazing music - feel happy and energized after listing to their music .... and also at 1:48

  • ahah that girl at 1:45!!! I am almost crying of happiness and sadness at the same time because I wasn't there

  • @Steoandnoodles1 oh, and by the way, ive also seen them band members going to other london gigs, and funny enough, marcus (and all of them) are always dressing "folky". with the exactly same clothes than for "show time"...

  • @Steoandnoodles1 i couldnt help myself when reading about the "falseness" and "staged" in your comment. It happens that i saw the band back in 2007, when they were playing a underground venue in Notting hill (communion club, which still being run by one of the mumford members) and i can bloody tell, marcus was pretty much dressed with the same clothes than in glasto, 4 years later! they are the less staged band around the uk. i swear. i wish you could read about them before judging :(

  • Best live band...EVER

  • I love how real this is. Just a few friends, on a stage, loving life

  • GAH!

Winston grew his beard again... its sexyyyy :]]

    Amazing performance As usual xD

  • @Steoandnoodles1

probably the reason they dress up in a folk manner is to get themselves more into the music so they can put on a better performance. a musician will do what is needed to put on a great show, if they feel they need to dress up to get into the spirit of the music, so be it! because it works for them! they sound fantastic! :)

  • l thought mumford and sons were undertakers but l was wrong- they're folk rockers from London- seen them the other night supporting Arcade Fire- they were okay- it's like they do well with this type of genre- but they aint reinventing the wheel

  • @tallpaddy 1 has 2 ask how exactly do u go about reinventing the wheel these guys are a breath of fresh air

  • @TheMrJevz Jevz is a homo. Also, thanks for the link on twitter, enjoyed it. They were still better at Beni :D

  • Saw them supporting Arcade Fire the other night and they were so unbelievably shit. Joke band.

  • both are fantastic bands..saw both of them...couldnt choose between them, and why should we...vive the difference,,,and thank god bands like this exist...also bellowhead gave a fabulous set

  • i was there they were great but there was loads of noise bleed from the glade stage and you could hear drum and bass booming from there which was poor!! but i will say again mumford were shit hot just bad planning by glastonbury :-(

  • Why does everyone compare this band to Fleet Foxes... why is it a battle of who's better? They both are extremely different bands. Mumford is bluegrass folk with a Celtic vibe. Fleet foxes are a harmony baroque folk group with a calm profound grace.

I suppose the comparison lies within the perception of their fans in the world. Mumford being the biggest folk group in the UK and Fleet foxes being the biggest folk group in USA...? There success as independent artists is how we base our judgment?

  • Ugh. So irritating. This is more blue-grass. And the lead singer's voice is sooo obnoxious. Fleet Foxes are millions of times better. But that's just my opinion...

  • get the fuck over hipster bashing. they are awesome nonetheless

  • Mumford & Sons are a band that it is simply not cool to like. Despite there being tons of “hip” indie bands that have a lot of similarities to Mumford & Sons, the simple fact of the matter is that this band didn’t have to toil away in relative international obscurity for years a la The Decemberists or The Frames, so it’s simply not cool to like them. Only when a band has two or three albums go unheard does it make it okay for the hipster community to appreciate a good band.

  • @gogolplex74 I didn't write this myself. I got this from RateYourMusic user audiophobia,m but I absolutely agree with him, so i wanted to post his opinin here

  • fleet foxes are for hipsters, Mumford and sons rock!

  • @gogolplex74 that is not true

  • they are just absolutely amazing!! <3

  • why are they reaching for them? it's not as if they'll be able to touch them

  • I love Mumford and Sons and love the fact that they added a fiddle player!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i was there at the front of the crowd near enough, this could be best part of my life so far?

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

  • I wish Ben would stop thrashing his head he will get brain damage

  • How is it possible to dislike this??? Such an awesome song :-)

  • Love the strings! Mah Boys playing Mah favorite tune :D

  • stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,

    stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,

    stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp,

    stomp, stomp, stomp, YEAH!

  • For those of you calling this folk music id say its wayyyy closer to bluegrass!

  • @welljer who cares what it is? I tend to focus on the fact that it sounds fucking awesome.

  • That crowd looks like a circus!!

  • Comment removed
