  • Thank this man for Digital Love :)

  • can u recall the sample once the song moves on ? i need to rewind it

  • I love this song! More George Duke please?

  • kind of looks like Darell from the Office!

  • The beginning was all cool! then it took a dramatic stumble down a mountain....

  • its a good song, but i do like daft punks use for it a little more.

  • hahaha nyc...Daft punk!nyc sample.am sua most people knew about this song coz of DP

  • This isn't disco. This is electronic funk ballad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oooh this is funky :P

  • the sample of daft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3

  • I just came here for best rated comments about Daft Punk.

  • Is there a service out there someone can link me to that helps you find good music from the 60s and 70s?

  • honestly, this gets lame after the bit daft punk sampled.

  • Yes, for the 1000000th time, they sampled this. It's what DJs do. Let's all just accept the fact that some of us were brought to these gems of music because of Daft Punk samples and leave it at that, ok?

  • dammit daftpunk y u do dis

  • Hey, dude. This music wasn't on this CD (Face the Music). It was on Master of the Game!! Check on Amazon!

  • duke and daft punk both are Capricorn by zodiac :D

  • George Duke has good taste in music

  • daft punk did so much more with that tiny segment... i like digital love way more

  • another funny fact, if you look at george dukes cd cover for "dream on" what does that remind you of? =)

  • @Bobban hahahahahahahah! ;D 5555

  • In the beginning I was like: Laaaast night, I had a dr... lolwhat?"

  • @couvepodre

Haha! Dude, me too! I was a bit thrown off to find that the original song had a totally diff. tune.

  • This was Daft Punk before Daft Punk.

  • .......... I still like Daft Punk more lol

  • These are exactly the kinds of Hidden Treasures that made Daft Punk one of the greatest electronic groups of all time.

    Great, groovy, disco track!! :]

  • daft punk got soul!

  • Comment removed

  • nice sample for daft punk to remake

  • Daft punk has a very good taste in music

  • @buckeye78353 Then how do you explain Barry Manilow's "Who's Been Sleeping in my Bed"?

  • A lot more people would have never heard of Geroge Duke if it wasn't for Daft Punk

  • I Digital Love You More

  • @leviathancom IT MUST BE MADE

  • I prefer digital love. This is a generic 80's R&B ballad.

  • This is sick

  • thumbs up if u recognized that Daft Punk sampled this

  • Aaaahhh man, nobody makes music like this anymore!

  • @LucasBJable haha nice one

  • The intro is the best part, thats why daft punk remixed it and made the most awesome song of all time.

  • It's somewhat amazing he didn't see potenial in that 8 second intro to form a whole new song

  • @aoibhingirl321 I know right? There is a bunch of songs that have great things like that for only seconds, you wonder how he didn't notice how amazing it was.

  • @aoibhingirl321 think about it.. you had never heard daft punk, you wouldn't of thought of it either if you had heard this song. Unless you have daft punk talent maybe.. :P

  • @aoibhingirl321 - Probably because he was an artist and a musician and not a sample DJ who wanted to 'remix' previous work. Also remember the context of the time, that first 8 bars would not sound as great until you were able to loop and it put some fat beats behind it. Daft Punk are great, but they are not muso's, they are DJ's/producers, and they can be different creatures looking at different things in music.

  • This is Digital Love by Daft Punk sample

  • digital love!!!

  • i came across this guy though daft punk but his music alone is really good

  • The part that daft punk sampled doesn't sound remotely similar to the rest of the song...

    how odd...

  • GREAT INTRO !! CLASIC INTRO

  • daft punk sent me

  • Wow, I didn't know Daft Punk sampled this song!

  • nice

  • ughhh 0:46 thats a woppie face

  • last night..

  • en todo caso la introducción es mucho mejor que la cancion completa...

  • 8 first second are the best :D

  • great sample

  • does that really sound like philip bailey on vocals? just speculating...

  • long live Daft Duke!

  • Dopeness producer.

  • Thumbs up if you only came for the daft punk sampling.

  • If you were to told me Daft Punk sampled this, I would have never believed you until I heard it. wow.

  • awesome!!

LOVE this too at the mo

    /watch?v=7CgGuiYty-U

  • Are you kidding me? Just because the first 3 chords or so are similar doesn't mean that Daft Punk stole this. What about the other 80% of "Digital Love"?

  • @TrickyEmu They did in fact sample. Not only are the chords just right, the instruments are as well. I wouldnt say they "stole" it, which is why we use "sample". And the other 80% of Digital Love is the first part looped lol. And other instruments added by Daft Punk, but they did infact sample

  • @TrickyEmu The whole structure of the song is sampled from the intro of this song. Doesn't make it less of a song, in my opinion.

I never knew why sampling is such a bad thing. As long as the song is properly credited (which it is in the liner notes of Discovery) then I think it's a great way to experiment with music.

  • How did Daft Punk turn this pile of crap into gold? Witchcraft, that's how!

  • First I found out Madvillain sampled his Prepare Yourself and made a masterpiece and now THIS!? Damn George Duke...

  • @xbluanchovyx Yeah, i know. They are more like an electronic/dance sound.

  • if it wasn't for DAFT PUNK i wouldn't have ever known who this guy was... its a nice song! thanks daft punk. and i gotta commend them for creating an equally good song from sampling this

  • Comment removed

  • @briannmillerr its a different genre so it isnt

i do like digital love though

  • @briannmillerr Best comment ever

  • daft punk chose wisely

  • If that Intro isn't the greatest thing man ever made, it's must be damn close. Daft Punk sure had awesome inspiration for music.

  • Last night, I had a dream about you, in this dream, i'm dancing right beside you...

  • Awesome song!

*Side note* George Duke kinda looks like the guy from the Old Spice commercials on that cover...

  • tan tan tan ~ 12 seconds later ~ last night... -_-' shit i'm fooled XD

  • I'm not gay, but admit guys that George Duke is so sexy with his bieautiful chest. XD

  • @siryuke LMFAO

  • @siryuke I'm going to have to agree with you there.

  • always bet on duke

  • Ain't that just a darling song.

  • Never would've guess that bit was sampled. Pretty cool song, not the BEST funk/soul I've ever heard but not bad by any means. Daft Punk knew how to pick 'em.

  • well u must be a tard if u think that the magic stops at 12 seconds

  • Woah, left turn!

  • both cool daft punk and george duke

    realy nice :D

  • @blastedontape

this song was already gangster before daft punk used samples. duh

  • @fnckyou2 no, it wasnt. who lied to you?

  • daft punk is all i care for in this video xD

  • The love stops at 12 seconds

  • orales es el sample q utilizo daft punk en la cancion digital love wow

  • orales es el sample q utilizo daft punk en la cancion digital love wow

  • lol George Duke looks like Chef from South Park lololololol

  • @varasha dude check out isaac hayes

  • wow takes a totally different direction from the beginning. turns out I love it more!

  • OMG...Daft Punk?, anyway, Daft Punk sounds better :D

  • @MsMadJovi george duke is really really original!!

  • @MsMadJovi -_-...cmon show the old school some love...yes we all know daft punk sampled the beginning and you cant really say daft punk is better since everyone feels things in different ways.....when its music love them all equally cuz they are perfect for different times

  • Damn this is nice...

  • George Duke = Ahead of his time.

  • @darkinglory That's called Avant Garde, bro.

  • @darkinglory just because Daft Punk sampled this? You know, there is a LOT more music like this from that era, because it's just how songs sounded that time. Go check it out ;-)

You'll be rewarded with good sound!

Some great artists: ELP, Candido, Sharon Redd, Sinnamon etc etc

  • That sample is only one of the thousand elements in 'Digital Love' that combine to make it awesome.

  • I love how george Duke practically made keytars :)

  • Sampling is an art. To create something completely new from something else like that is genius. People say daft punk isn't original

But it's French house, or nu-disco if u will. They're supposed to sample old funk and soul and loop it, building off of it. That's what makes daft punk so great. Believe it or not they fore into soul, synthpop, classical, disco, funk, and electro, I idolize em so u retards who know nothing of the art of sampling, stfu.

  • where the guitar part?

  • lol i had no idea DP took so little from this song

  • Both songs are great

  • I love both the original sample and Daft Punk's Digital Love. :)

  • i like daft punk but i dont like their annoying fanbase with kanye west dickriders attached to that.

george duke is a genius. daft punk/kanye are simply not. he wrote shit from scratch and is a true innovator. sorry but it takes more talent to compose music with real instruments than sequencing samples and drums on a computer or akai mpc-3000 hardware.

kanye has not changed music. people are nuts if they believe this...either that or they've only listened to rap from the 00s.

  • @LaLaGrunge You can do everything a drummer and a bassist can do on a drum machine.

  • @LaLaGrunge I dont care! If you use a fukking card board box a guitar, ore a computer. Inovation is stil inovation. And lokking back i must say daft punk took something forgotten from an old dumbster and rewired it to be something totaly diferent new and exiting. Im not saying its okay to make money on others musik with chezy remixes, but if you can take somethin and make it better i totaly respect it and agnolege it as true artwork.

  • @saltfan2 You have the absolute worst grammar I've ever seen. It's atrocious! So many spelling errors!

    Here, let me fix them.

don't, fucking, or, innovation, still, innovation, looking, totally, different, exciting, music, cheesy, totally, acknowledge.

Wow, 14 errors. You should go to school more.

  • @LaLaGrunge It takes more? Really? How would you know. I compose music from scratch and I sample and I find there is no advantage in either. Sampling just gives you an idea of where to start.

  • its a shame no one CREATES their OWN music anymore!!! Everything comes out of a box now, nothing is made from scratch anymore, sad....

  • @Ltron9

Are you blitzing every page of daft punks songs influence?

  • i love both

  • how weird does the bit at 0:11 seem after listening to only Digital Love

  • Comment removed

  • @Rattenhoofd Still has a great bassline though!

  • @Rattenhoofd

If I could give you infinite thumbs down, I certainly would.

  • I have no idea why that comment got high thumbs. Apparantly a friend of mine posted it on my account to annoy me. We were having a discussion about Daft Punk and where they got their samples from. My point was actually that I like many of the original songs. This one included, although I must say Daft Punk's version is more dynamic and attracks me more than this one.

  • @tbopne daft punks may be better.but if it weren't for Mr. Duke...daft punk would have no sample...and therefore no song. don't get me wrong I absolutely love digital love.but this is just as great.

  • @robertanthonyplant well im thankful for all the artist they sampled from because i love every daft punk song

  • the day most of djs will make their music by themselves ill like electro

  • daft punks is better.

  • @tbopne there both good

  • @tbopne noob

  • Comment removed

  • Hey! Starting at @ 0:23 you can see a "star guitar" in the background, like the one in the music video for Digital Love (ship)

  • love this.......gems like this drowned out by hip=hop sludge---sad....hopefully new artists will turn things around............we can only hope.......love the duke man...

  • This song is nice, but I love Digital Love more. Seriously, George Duke never visits that killer riff any time after the intro. Everything else is kinda bland.

  • Ok the guy look ugly but the song is not bad I think.

  • 0:13 and the they fuck the sonh :P

  • @Navarone222 Were you expecting someones voice auto-tuned?

  • @Badilla92 Yees :D

  • the intro of the song is just amazing

  • i think it's kind of cool that both this song and Digital Love have a similar subject matter..that shows the talent of Daft Punk Right there

  • this was my life when it was so much simplier this is when they made goooood music chess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • George Duke is such a pimp. Awesome song.

  • The first 8 seconds is heaven.

  • lol nice.

  • I came here cause of Daft Punk! I'm glad these songs are not forgotten.

  • hahaha i came here cuz daft punk!

    theyre the best anyways!!!!!!

    FTW

  • makes sense y daft punk would hav sampled

  • Yeah Daft Punk sampled this song but. . . the actual song fucking rules. I love this!

  • Daft Punk FTW!

  • WUT UP DIGG

  • DAFT PUNK KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING! They sampled one of the best.

  • Noooo!!!

    Digital Love....

  • @PlasticCoffee hahah yes digetal love too!!!!! daft punk sampled almost every single one of their songs

  • Daft Punk are completely devoid of talent, as are all French musicians.

  • @sheepeasy cmon dude. they remix great tunes and its all in good fun. spread the love =)

  • Daft Punk used this sample, yes, but Daft Punk's song is cool and this one is kind of boring (I like old music, but not ballads).

  • @Rattenhoofd It may be boring, but it's way, way better than all the Justin Bieber crap on radio today!

  • @tiadaid Very true :)

  • nice

  • I love that bit at 0:07. This guy is a genius, and Daft Punk rocks for sampling it.

  • Never heard of him, but I think it is a very sweet song.

  • Daft Punk/Digital loveの元ネタですね

    名曲です

  • Daft punk took the sound but remade it.

  • the reason i put this link that shows the sampling is for people to get an idea how certain songs are sampled to make a new song.

  • Who here came to watch this cause of Daft Punk!?

  • @TimeTravelerJK Sorta, I only know this song becuase of Daft Punk, but I've really got into Dukes music for it's own merits not just cus the equally aewsome daft made there song

  • @TimeTravelerJK I'm the 100th thumb up :D

  • @TimeTravelerJK i did :P

  • @TimeTravelerJK the songs Digital love. Daft Punk forever!

  • @TimeTravelerJK

definentely came here cause of Daft Punk but I like the song.
