Hey Slack, are you just so smooth with the line gun in the laundromat that we don't even see the leaper? That thing is kicking my ass.

Yeah that thing is a bitch. If you've got the line gun the best thing to do is, immediately after killing the first slasher and the first puker, lay down a timed mine right in the middle of the laundromat and then run to take cover by the entrance door. Don't even wait for the leaper to spawn. You have a really good chance for the timing to be just about right, e.g., the leaper spawns just before the timed mine blows.

@MajorSlackVideos I saw you do that, but I can't get it down. The slasher changing his mind in terms of which side he spawns on screws me up. But I think I might have stumbled upon something almost as slick. I had a pretty funny death today to end my first hc attempt by the way. I was going to try to upload it tonight. An elevator glitched on me while in it and disappeared mid air. I hovered, and boom. dead. :D

Woops. I left something out. The procedure is lay down the timed mine, then retreat to the entrance, turn and watch carefully. The very first thing you see, put it in stasis, whether it's the Slasher or the Leaper. And yeah, the spawn order is random (as well as the spawn points). And welcome to the land of the elevator black hole glitch! Ain't that a bitch? As if hard core wasn't hard enough... I had that ruin an HC run that I did from chapter 6 to chapter 10. Arrrrghh!

spawns in the laundromat are extremely different on ps3. enemies always spawn in different locations.

I'm having trouble getting the timing down for nailing everything in the laundromat with the glass shards. Is driving myself insane for the sake of economics worth the payoff?

In the long run, yes, learning to use TK impalement well will save you a lot of ammo (and money) throughout the game. The Laundromat is a tough area though. You should try to spear the first two (Slasher and a Puker) with the glass shards and then switch to regular weapons after. That'll give you the best of both worlds. :)

Do you think there's any advantage using the mouse and keyboard rather than a gamepad? I like to play games with both, I love them both as much, but the inventory is Dead Space 2 is soooo optimized for the controller. You think it will be any harder to do it with a gamepad because it's slower at aiming etc?

P.S I wouldn't say that the grenade launcher on the Pulse Rifle is bad. It helped me in emergency situations. However, the Detonator is far superior.

@MajorSlackVideos I am using the Pulse Rifle in my normal playthough. It's a great weapon. It helped me solve chapter 5 without any problem. I'm near the end of chapter 6. Should I ditch the Plasma Cutter in Chapter 7? I also have the Ripper and Detonator.

Yes, ditch the Plasma Cutter if you're into the Pulse Rifle. You don't need both.

I tried the Javelin Gun at this stage. There is not enough ammo drops to make it a viable weapon.

Slack i disagree with you saying there is no ammo for the javelin gun when i ran with it yah i wasnt very impressed with it until its upgraded but the ammo part the game fed me ammo for it i got loads more then any gun i had on me at the time and i do the same load out you did but instead of the Detonator i ran with the javelin gun.. maybe i just got lucky idk =/

4 hours, 10 mins, 45 secs. That's from the time I clicked on the 'Accept' button to start the game (0:37 in the first video) to the fade-to-black screen after Isaac gets on board Ellie's gunship at the end.

Probably not. In Delta, you can't shoot the mounted gun on trucks while driving and there are some parts of the game where you're doing driving escort missions which I find really annoying, so no, I think I'll cut myself some 'slack' (ha) and do it on Normal.
