Part of a tanks job is building so much treat that a dps can go all out against him and sorry I did not see that happening here.

If taking some hits was all there was to being a tank than 90% of the classes could tank this.

I defend shaman tanking, but only to the lvl that I will never ever allow it unless it barely makes difference for the rest of the raid.

@Sarackosmo No one is gonna force you to have a shaman tank. I play Enh (for PvE) and Resto (for PvP), and I've always wanted to try and tank (and did, some minor dungeons) as Enh... but never very successfully. This is AWESOME to me, to see a boss tanked, to any decent degree , by a shaman.

Besides, some guilds, like my own, enjoy challenges. We are a tight knit, experienced group, and burn through content relatively fast, so coming up with new challenges is quite fun. Chillax a bit.

I myself am an enhance shaman, and my friends constantly make fun of me for being tank-like. (my first wotlk epic was a stamina trinket, lol). during one of my icc runs, i ot'ed the trash and marrowgar, shoving it in their faces that I could pull something like that off. Today my friend saw this video, and your tanking marrowgar video, and texted me, almost speechless.

@Obelisk894 its just a matter of peicing together enough hunter misdirects/rogue tricks, popping stoneclaw absorb every 21sec, shamanistic rage every 1min. Specing right and gearing right also helps significantly, Once you reach crit immunity it only takes 24k armor 6% DR through talents 40k health and 33% avoidance to stay alive in most 10mans.

The rest of being a good tank is proper timing of your tanking cooldowns/abilities and knowing when to throw in an absorb, heal, or tanking cd.

@spreadneedlexp of course lol. I bring my wifes rogue (tak) to just about all of my events, and thats what ToT is for, for feeding the tank threat. It's the only thing blizzards ever done to make rogues a team player. Mind you, I dont rely on tricks so much while chain pullling heroics since i can't expect tricks to be up every mob pull, and i do just fine without tricks when i have to.

@davisactual agility is equal to about 80% the value of dodge rating, so as long as i wear some high agil pve peices mixed with pvp stuff for crit immunity, i can just gem stam in my pvp set, or def in my 4peice tier9.5. At 30% dodge raid buffed 1200 agil/212 dodge rating.

@davisactual ... He stays Def capped and stacks enough avoidance thru Def and Resilience. He also uses alot of industructable pots and a shammys stoneskin totem places a shield that absorbs dmg on us for a short duration. If you watch you can also see him throwing himself heals, this is because after so many stacks of maelstrom weapon the heals become an instant cast spell. He holds aggro thru our Frostshock spell, it has a high threat count, he also has a rogue and hunter that misdirect to him.

fights like that require abit of help from the offtank/patience from the dps. Fights like that I get the offtank to taunt and only do white damage, so that me and my misdirect classes can push my threat to 110% and retake aggro as needed.

Shaman tanking is a sport, not for people expecting a mainstream tank. It takes alot of practice and gearing up just to become the equivelant to a t8 dk.

It helps to have cooperative dps, and make your raid aware of when you'd like to do things differently

He dont hit very hard btw. just take the good class with you : dk buff,palla heal for devo & BoL,resto drood for heal bonus,moonkin aura 5%,3% hit,sham elem for resist totem+wrath,a imba rog muti for MD 10sec ( best DPS'er in game since 3.3 ) none can pick ur aggro with that.All shammy's can do that :)

Nah man, hes using Furious glad totem of survival, wich increases his SP by 84 after he shocks for 10 secs. Since shocks CD is under 10 seconds, his second shock will get the buff, and since frost shock is his main agro ability, it will boost His threat up. It'll constantly be up ^^
