Although BRS isn't a Vocaloid, I believe BRS owes most of her fame to Hatsune Miku. If most people were like me, they fell upon the PV while looking up Vocaloid stuff.

It's good that there will be an anime for this one but I would not want a Vocaloid anime. It could not possibly live up to the fan's expectations. I'd rather have their music tell stories and people interpret the story their own way such as in fanfics.

Black Rock Shooter isn't actually Vocaloid. Huke created a BRS and Ryo made a song for it using Miku. Coincidentally Miku did inspired BRS's character design, as Huke original intended BRS to be a grudgier looking Miku, but Huke later created his own story based off the character that was unrelated to Vocaloid.
