well, after looking up in the dictionnary... it means : in what matter? or "in the manner that". In the context of of the song, quo modo would be used in the form of "in what matter?" Example: Pull me up, in what matter? from shadow to light". Im not sure if that's really how the song goes.. but it seems right for me ;)
