  • what did you get

  • My god, that's epic! I've been down that way, but not to pick up computers. That back end is sitting mighty low. Very good stuff. Hey Bill, not very hard to figure out where you are. :P Nice haul though. Everytime I see these vids I wish I had a house for my collections. Someday soon I suppose.

  • I'm trying to get one right now. The local school has one and I keep at them about it but they claim it might have privet data on it. I told them I'd remove the hard drive but they said no.

It's packed in the original box with everything+a ton of extras in the storage room:(

  • @TheAtheistCanadian At least here in the US, there are some laws that make giving away an old computer a Scary Thought for a business or institution. I don't know if Canada has something similar or not, but nothing would surprise me.

I'd be persistent and maybe talk to some other people. There should be someone whose attention you could get...maybe the school board or a superintendent?

  • How many miles did you have to do to get those computers? thanks

  • Me and family were in Bowling Green, KY last tuesday becuse we were comeing back from Nashville the resan that we were in KY becuse they have a National Corvette Museum

  • @Corvette1658 Where Billpicked these up at my place is 50 miles north of BG - I used to work near WKU in BG in 01, go there to service customers pretty regularly. I pass the Corvette plant and museum all the time, used to do printer service at the plant back in 01. I also go to Portland and Nashville from time to time for service. I used to live maybe 25 miles from Bill until they closed Chanute AFB in Rantoul back in 93 when I was in the AF. It's a long drive each way.

  • How many miles was it?

  • I wish i had more money to allocate to feeding my hunger for PS/2 equipment, money doesn't come easily to 15 year olds.

  • you can defiantly do a wheelie with all that in the box :D

  • @GalaticTG :

Nah we loaded most weight to the front of the bed - we knew he'd probably try doing wheelies if he didnt.

  • That is so awesome! You are one lucky guy!

  • Didn't know you had the camera with you - could have shown the Youtubers "the moon" hahahaha. Just glad someone I know that has use for the machines could put them to good use.

  • You hit the motherload!! Nice work!

  • Damn, I wish you'd sell some of those

  • Depends on where you are. You could *have* one. I make no promises about what shape any of them are in, or how long they'll run.

I'd rather not mess with shipping them.

  • Yeah, I'd better not, I'm in Iowa.

  • Wow. 72 MPH and you're just keeping up with traffic. That's terrible how so many people speed. Today, I went 40MPH down city streets and had people passing me.

  • you think 72mph is bad in detroit if you do any thing less then 80mph you will get rear ended

  • I live in Victoria, BC, Canada. People drive slow. Speed of traffic is on average 30MPH in the city, 60MPH in the highways.

  • go to germany, speedlimit is 180 KMH, thats actually advised speed, yoo wont get a ticket if you drive pedal to the metal

  • lucky I live less than 20 miles from the border LOL

  • Those Tandy keyboards are great. They are equivalent to the rare "library quiet" version of the IBM Model M with greased springs. You still get the tactile touch, but without the loud clacking noise.

  • Wow. I have a 3.1... smaller engine, smaller car and I get ever so slightly better mileage out of mine. I've managed 24.7 as my absolute best, still havent beat the 25 mark :(

  • What kind of car is it in?

I got 26 MPG (only once) out of the 1990 Lumina, which also had a GM 3.1 V6. Since it only happened once, that probably does not count for much.

  • My Cavalier, so its even smaller than the Lumina.

  • cool u were in kentucky i live in kentucky about 100 miles south west of louisville off I65

  • He wasn't much further, he picked them up at my house (I didnt know he brought his camera or I could have mooned everyone LOL) and I'm in Clarkson on the WK excatly 60 miles from the exit for Outer Loop on I-65. If you are on I-65 100 south then you are probably in Bowling Green or Franklin. I'm just glad he could put them to use - the weekend after he came by we loaded 2 8 ft truck beds of other non-PS2 items - 5500 lbs of scrap.

  • YAY! I'm not the only one that still has an IBM PS/2!

  • He got them from me, I had the whole 10x30 full of them a few years ago, gave 2 vans full to a high school technology project and he got what's left except my PC/XT/AT machines and my 8595-OPT. Too little time to monkey with them and not enough space - the building in tan near his truck in the video is the new (in construction) shop and office and repairing newer stuff is priority.

  • What do you do with old computers?

  • I use, collect and restore them. I've got the room to keep them, so it's not a big deal.

You have probably already guessed that I don't throw much away.

  • @uxwbill lol sounds like me, i wish i had more 10 is boring when they dont break down XD

  • cool haul. looks about like its time for a 3/4 long box truck or an enclosed trailer

  • Oh what I wouldn't give for 22-23 mpg. The 4.3 in my Astro MIGHT get 20 on the highway...if you drive 55 mph, dont stop, keep the windows up, and turn the AC off. Gets 15-16 in mixed driving all the time.

  • (Forgive me father for i have sinned...)

I recently picked up a Aptiva. Having some trouble getting that 77 out. If i had my driver's license (or a learner's permit at least) i'd just head up to Michigan myself and grab it, but well, i don't.

I have to wonder, though: What kind of Aptiva has 128mb RAM and a AMD Duron? (Answer; a updated one).

  • dont worry about youre location any one with access to microsoft live or goggle maps could locate you by the videos you post .

i can locate most by visuals around the areas they live in if i have been in that town before.

but yes ya got to be carefull about who you deal with not just on youtube but any online service like e bay ect.

  • I'd say your milage kind of sucks compared to what im used to my Tahoe with a 5.7L TBI gets that kind of milage.

  • a ford could beat that milage:)

  • if only a ford could drive that far... and my dodge would beat the ford anyway

  • Hard to say. I get very close (and sometimes a little over) what the window sticker says when driving like this, and the city rating is dead on.

The 4.3 and 5.7 are very closely related.

The only other 4.3 we have to compare with is in the Keykeeper's big brown truck where it has to do more work. It has different gears in the differential. That one gets about 20MPG at its very very best!

I'm not complaining! (Though I am curious--where'd a Tahoe sneak in?)

  • thats what we got with our 4.3 with a 5 speed ran damn good

  • you should've stopped at my house lol

  • What's that kind of wiper blades you have on your truck?

  • I love would to come to ur house one day haha

  • aww i want a ibm ps2....lol

  • The 4.3 Vortec is a good engine. My brother had a Chevy truck with one, so did i.

  • how far did you drive

  • you hit the IBM Jackpot
