  • Nobody will ever be greater the the greatest..Alexander The Great.

  • @WlakyMaster and Trebonius and Basillus.

  • what a stud.

  • VICTUM ROMANIUS!!!!!

  • Amazing man. His one weakness was his epilepsy.

  • ave

  • bullshit the death of the republic started with Tiberius Gracchus and it was the stagnation and inability to govern effectively inherent in the Senate that ruled Rome that lead to the death of the Republic. Caesar was only mirroring what any self-interested politician of the time was inclined to do. Which Gaius Marius and Sulla both used before

  • Julius Caesar was so FAMOUS, he was a Deified GOD known as DIVUS IULIUS which mutated into Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the poetic rendition of Julius Caesar

  • @thone2008

The historicity of Jesus Christ is an established fact. The "Christ-myth" fable is just that, a fable.

  • @AgApE010

Historic Fact in same sense of Harry Potter, The Authors of every Gospel Book are all Identified and its proven that Jesus is the Works of Fiction by Roman Aristocratic Elite.

  • @thone2008

I'd recommend watching a Yale professor lecture on the historicity of Jesus. Type in "Historical Jesus, Yale" and you'll find the video lecture on here. Every modern historical scholar accepts that Jesus existed. That's all I have to say about that. If you still disagree, go argue with Dr. Bart Ehrman or Dr. Dale B. Martin in the Yale lecture.

  • @AgApE010

no, its biased, since they all Christians talking, they Ignore all the Contradictions, Jesus did Exist, but as the Son of Titus Josephus (Joseph) burn around 70-80AD, since Josephus (a author the Yale peep use to prove Jesus) is, in fact, The Author of the Gospels in the First Place

  • @thone2008 they had to change the story. christianity was originally a movement against tyranny, not a religion. its a symbollic writing. jesus cured the blind=helped people see the truth, raising the dead=bringing out of depression, seven headed dragon=roman empire(seven hills of rome) etc. he explained to the people that they were in a machine, the same way pink floyd thinks we are in a machine, which makes us machines (dead/depressed), but the truth sets you free.

  • i love the romans, they are the best civilization ever

  • America = Rome 2011

  • @wc1hater i say what tran : )

  • why would qanyone ever watch this it is so fucking stupid it is in the past not one person cares

  • @Dutchman931 A fair few people care. A fair few people who are interested as to how one of the most important empires in western history transitioned from a republic to an empire.

  • @Dutchman931 then why the fuck do you come here and watch it then fucking douch bag?

  • this is ALL 4 my project for school

  • @bgbrooklin same

  • wow... he wasn't brainless every move was well plot out i think the whole cleopatra thing was a military move as well as she was loaded filthy rich he was old cleopatra wanted to be Queen.... he gave her what she wanted and in return he got pussy and more riches... its insane...anywhere he went he won... doesnt matter what it was, pussy, money, life and death battles... he fucking won.. why are such ppl who break all bariers and do the impossible always put to death, even until this time??

  • MaskoftheWraith this is true back then it was just life many people were already trying to change it back then but that was common life so tecnichally they werent really being "evil".

  • Who's better Alexander the great or Julius caesar???

  • @Packapunchme247 They're both great in their own respects. Both Caesar and Alexander were amazing generals; although, Caesar was a master politician too. Caesar fought over fifty pitched battles; where Alexander fought less than ten. Alexander's campaign was swift, up against seemingly insurmountable odds and he took over land hastily. I admire them both for different reasons. Hannibal is the best general ever IMO. Simply because he decimated southern Italy for 15 or so years with impunity.

  • pause at 7:30 :p looks like he just spotted a tiger running towards him

  • Brutal, vain, genocidal, ruthless? Hardly. Julius was renknown for his clemency. He did overdue pacifying Iberia and later Gaul, however, his campaigns were no more ruthless that Hannibals. Caesar's planned Parthian campaign was pure genius. Crossing the Danube in a flanking manuever into Armenia and onwards to Parthia (Persia). Encircle and destory. Such bold military planning would not be seen on Earth until the Werhamcht"s campaign in Russia nearly 2000 years later. Hail Caeser.

  • @MrDiamondexpert funny i am too

  • His eyebrows! What is wrong with them?!

  • Brutus,Cassius,Casca and Tillius disliked this video!!!

  • Asterix totally took the mick on this guy!

  • The Berlusconi of ancient Rom

  • ASSASINS ENDED CESARE WRATH

  • @pimpin702101

As an Atheist my belief in 'Jesus' is miniscule. And even so, you Christians thank and worship his death seeing as it 'forgave all of our sins' and he was resurrected...apparently.

  • Caesar is the best he bangged cleopatra lol

  • Cesar i dont understand why we call the month juli after him ,..he was no god he was a murderer,..he took the place of Amon Ra and till the day we accept this lies given by this roman demon anti christs we will suffer as humans!.

  • NCR!

  • @JasonNuka fallout FTW!

  • Julius Caesar was the greatest Roman Leader of them all

  • @MetallicaFan035 Well... perhaps not during the early Middle Ages, as seen with the Mongols, but as soon as the Renaissance hit and plate mail was introduced, we kicked serious ass again.

  • @MetallicaFan035 Truth is, many myths contain historical elements. For instance, the Norse Volsung saga and its German counterpart, the Siegfried saga, feature Attila as a character. Of course Attila existed, but the sagas do not give us a credible image of who he was because they are myths, and he is a character serving a narrative, symbolic purpose. Which can also be said about the Bible.

My point is really that the Bible is far too often seen as 'history', when it is really history-ish :)

  • @MetallicaFan035 As I wrote in my post, the Bible does undeniably contain historical elements, but saying it is a historical text elevates it to something it is not. There is a huge difference between Plutarch and what is essentially a collection religious stories (myths) combining fantastical and a few possibly semi-historical events.

  • If the power holder isn't wise, aware and still enough, power will make him completely insane. The more power the harder to maintain track. They will see nothing else other than their own ambition and forget about why the people give him or her, the power to lead the people.

  • Caesar was brilliant but he was just lucky that he wasent around when hannibal was kickin the romans asses because he would've been slaughtered.

  • @Fez1408 Ancient Rome.

  • @Fez1408 Ancient China... honestly? Their forces were nowhere near as organized, disciplined, and well armed as the legionaries. Their coffers were also fairly small compared to the entirety of all the Roman families together.

And their fighting style was inferior as well, too much fines and too little focus on killing the enemy.

Ancient Europe will smoke ancient Asia any day.

  • @EdikShepherd China was an untested giant, while Rome was a battle-hardened giant that had proven its worth against the likes of Hannibal, Pyrrhus, and others. In the Mediterranean you not only had a variety of cultures, you also had a variety of concepts of warfare, and this forced Rome to constantly adapt and reevaluate its strategy.

  • Legally, it was the Roman's who killed Jesus; the Jews did arrest Him at an illegal hour and with no witnesses.

  • @Hkepfer no no the jews killed Jesus, they were thoose who insisted to be killed, the romans (Pilatus) tryed to set him free becouse he found no guilt at Him but the jews whanted Him crucified.

  • Yet again the topic of another youtube video is being tied into a religious debate. Yay!!!!

  • For all those badmouthing The Romans, ask yourself this. What would you have done if you were in the position of Ceasar? What would you do if you were appointed to lead an entire nation in a time when disputes were commonly settled with bloodshed?

All of Romes emperors, and all of the leaders you hear of today being 'evil' are just doing what each and every leader aspires to do - to expand their empire for personal goals, and those of their people. Defining evil all down to personal perspective.

  • @MaskoftheWraith roman empire was good, it brought law and civilisation to barbarian people who lived with no low and no civilisation.

  • @Probyzantinum

    Exactly.

  • @MaskoftheWraith It's Just the catholics

  • @MaskoftheWraith you are a nerd

  • @DMFANBest

And you are just another uneducated nitwit of a troll.

  • @MaskoftheWraith u dont need to defend romans their legacy speaks for itself

  • @MaskoftheWraith

Julius Caesar committed genocide against entire peoples. I doubt that "each and every leader aspires" to do that.

  • @MrPontiusPilate

Of course they do. Genocide makes its home in war, which is the bearer of fortune to the victor. You cannot deny that in our 'modern civilized world', that war for profit does not exist.

  • @MaskoftheWraith

Think about what you just said and tell me if it sounds reasonable. You said that each and every leader aspires to commit\ genocide. It doesn't take a lot of analysis to realize that your comment is baseless and only speculation, poor speculation at that.

  • @MrPontiusPilate

I know what I said, and it sounds very reasonable. Anyone is capable of committing genocide, and instinctually everyone feels the desire to kill in some aspect - some more than others. Read 'The Lucifer Effect' by Dr. Philip Zombardo. To kill is simply human instinct all we can do is speculate, analyse and generally conclude seeing as 99% of us are not world leaders. Besides that, mass profit and personal gain is a powerful motivator.

  • @MaskoftheWraith

You didn't say that anyone is "capable" of of committing genocide. What you said was that each and every leader aspires to commit genocide. Which is of course baseless speculation. Though you do sound like an interesting guy.

  • @MaskoftheWraith dude chill out ok roma roma but the Macedonians had a better govt dude

  • Jesus was killed because the Roman empire mercilessly put down any possible source of rebellion or riot. The empire's agents included the Roman prefect Pilate who ordered the execution, and the Jewish high priest Caiaphus and his council who initiated the process. Assigning responsibility to an entire group of people, whether the Jews or the Romans, is stereotyping, oversimplifying, and false.

  • @mmwiz Pilate tryed to set Him free, jews are the murderes and a deicide people.

  • @cecevans no. The Bible in alot of ways is history.

  • Julius Caesar wasn't even alive when Jesus was crucified. And this idea that we shouldn't look to the Bible for history? That statement is just hate. We read works by Homer in high school; no one that I know ever said we shouldn't read it. This is just old fashioned hate...mixed with stupidity...topped with ignorance of history. Sad part is ppl actually post crap like that. Just goes to show their intelligence level...or lack thereof.

  • @danielharmonizer They are both works of mythology, and should be studied as such. Undeniably, they both have historical elements (both Troy and Jesus existed), but the stories themselves cannot be taken as accurate depictions of historical events. Thus, to claim that the Bible is an accurate historical document is laughable.

  • @psudsl2010 I'm talking advanced in terms of knowledge.... Knowledge lost to the christian church because they said it was heresy. During the Dark Ages there were almost none or little technological advance. And that makes me angry... we could be in Mars by now xD

  • @cecevans the bible surprisingly brings up a lot of things that were once thought to be legends and they turn out to be true. until 300 years ago king david was considered a myth, it turns out he really was real. sodom and gomorrha were once thought to be legends but only 60 years ago archaeologists found 2 ancient cities located at the same spot they were said to be in and even moses, caiphus and pontius pilate are now shown to have actually existed.

  • @ultradumbass With a name like "ultradumbass", it is no surprise to me that you bring up the bible as proof of anything.

  • @XeIpherpolis haha, i think you might well suit my user name yourself then. i'm not religious but then yet again you are just a poor lonely troll just looking for someone to piss on. sorry, that does not work with me. i guess you shouldn't read the illiad or the odyssey where they talk of troy, even when there is ample evidence troy did exist. alright i'll let you go now son, take care:)

  • @ultradumbass Nobody is saying troy did or didn't existed. I simply poked fun at you for using the bible as evidence.

  • @XeIpherpolis wow.... took you a month to reply? let me guess. for a month you probably ran around youtube thinking of a good insult and this all you came up with? i'm ashame i even replied again. congratulations, my youtube name would have been a great resume to your personality if only you would have been smart enough to come up with it first.

  • Statements like "Jesus gave his life for human race" are not qualified if you're an amateur historian, only if you are religious. Jewish high priests pressured the romans to arrest Jesus. But anyway, what does Jesus have to do with Gaius Julius? And if you are based on a bible, just quit it, the bible has been written AND overwritten maybe hundreds of times, in order to hide scientific values and whatever more. Any thing in the Bible should not be trusted, this coming from a catholic.

  • @dpsantos1994 Just look at the examples of Galileo Galilei and the library of Alexandria. So much knowledge lost, and now we could be much more advanced.

  • @dpsantos1994 Is this a joke? The Bible has been written and overwritten hundreds of times? Really? It might serve you better to think of that statement for a moment and then go research a bit. That might stop you from making permanent statements like that on here.

  • Caesar is fucking awesome :P

  • Another tyrannical piece of human scum worshipped today simply because it happened a long time ago.

  • Isn't that Cicero @ 2:51? They're talking about Marius at this point but it looks like the Great Orator instead.

  • I see caesar statue In atlantic city,New Jersey!

  • Sulla was WAY better than Caesar. Sulla was actually the reason Caesar became who he was.

  • JM mclovin alexander was talked a lot about in Caesars time a lot of Roman emporers compared themselves to Alexander. Caesar actaully encountered a statue of Alexander in Hispania (now knowns as spain). He felt an underachiever since he was at an age where alexander had the world at his feet. He did have that conquering spirit about him how he conquered gaul (france) and he invaded England and Germania. Trajan is another one that compared himself to alexander since after beating decavulus

  • It was his nephew who made himself emporer, not Caesar. He made himself dictator and was killed by the senate to save a republic that had died when Caesar was a child far from Rome.

  • I wonder if alexander was talked about alot in caesars time if the story of alexander grew after that period.

  • @JMcLovn Alexander was spoken of with great honor by all Romans in that time.

  • all those little lies about 'in his current' get real, this fool died an old man somewhere.. see before-after , u really see it to be different but know better. all following this bjerk was christian roman emperor.

  • all lies, these guys were bigs... since we had a very bad problem... hence if all lies (because even with penal codes theyre still human beings. correct) well the problem... was it's about the troops to those following or what he called 'his persecuted christians' see they are brought down by it the horizontal vertical and governmental image, so more so lies in a sense with these tools.. with his image - even words like 'probate' appear different. this guy was high as hell

  • @user123abc9945945 correct, so if they even heard 'they had to or wasnt so simple' they see it for what it is, and it happens to be what nobody wants. heh.

  • men whos julius ceasar

  • pontifax maximas is the current day pope?

  • he was like howard hughes

  • we should be like romans here in america if we expect to last another 100 years. we are to weak today. white young men dont fight enough.

  • @Rico8458 WOW YOUR LIKE THOSE WHO SAY THEY WISH THEY WERE SPARTANS OR VIKINGS OK KNOW THIS ROME FELL SPARTANS DIED OUT VIKINGS CONVERTED.ALL THE ROMANS KINGS IF THE STORYS ARE TRUE ARE IN HELL.SO YEH GO FOR IT.

  • alexander the great is the greatest of all time

  • @snoopboy2141 Agreed. He was my favorite historical character. It's really too bad the movie "Alexander" was so incredibly horrible. If only they based the movie on the things he did rather than trying to make a political statement about how Alexander was most likely gay (which was normal back then in every society).

  • @jhille85 you are so right

  • I'm doing a report on this roman leader =P

  • Alexander the great is better.

  • @cecevans

"New"? haha, funny... probably the oldest book still been published today, be considered a new thing.

Where have you been for the last 3 thousand years?

  • @diogok oldest?did you ever knew it was constantly being edited?the bible is nothing but a piece of thrash,it only teaches good things to manipulate the weak and the fools.and so far, there's just god damn to many fools who believe in the bible.believe in god and christianity, but the bible?every good historians knows that the bible was never a history nor a a real facts.

  • @teslagod2003

    1. Yes, I knew the bible has been "edited";

    2. Where are you basing your claim? This is your personal opinion and you have no evidence for it. The bible is simply the greatest piece of literature of all of humankind, still being published for thousands of years;

    3. The bible is not a history book (it is about theology), but you can learn a lot about the history of Near East and its old civilizations. The work of archaeologists would be much harder without information from the bible

  • @diogok i wont have personal opinion if i dont have any reason or evidence for it.the bible is supposed to be for god,but mostly it is being used for personal wants of the church and for politics(yes they are involving theirselves in politics).during the reign of constatine the great, the original writings has been edited and destroyed other important writings.have you ever wondered why there are only few apostles who have written in the bible?where the heck are the others?

  • @teslagod2003 I am aware of everything you just said, as I am a history lover and Christian Apologetic.

People can use anything for their personal will. The Theory of Evolution was used by the Nazis to justify the Holocaust and the supremacy of the best fit, but it doesn't mean there is something wrong with the Theory itself. The problem was when it was used in the wrong way.

Yes, unfortunately human-beings use the bible for politics... so what?

  • @diogok so,where's the respect for god?i am not religious myself,in fact i hate my religion, but i respect god.if politics would only use the bible, then it'll be better to just shatter and destroy the bible as destroying the politics.

  • @teslagod2003 So we have something in common, I don't like religion either (it is man-made and that is why is so "faulty", to say the least)

The respect for God is on the rubbish, and that is why we live in such a world. But that is not God's nor the bible's fault, it is our. It is up to you what you are gonna do with the knowledge from the bible...

    See ya

  • @diogok look at the spanish and portugese colonies, when they took them, they used religion to weaken the people and abuse them, while the church are getting rich and powerful, the people are being manipulated and abused.that's why there are many sectors of christianity, they just cant piece up what was the truth in christianity.then look at the quoran,it was never edited from the start, what was written in the quoran today, was the same writings written on quoran in the past.

  • Gaius Julius Caesar (Julius Caesar) or onlu Caesar

  • @jhille85 Good book, although it is boring at times.

  • the hell is this guys name? His first name was Julius? Or Caesar?

    What was his last name?

And how many Caesaers were there?

It became a title? Or was it already a title?

  • You need to know Latin to understand. The name of your sword is in your name as well ...

  • @mongoose100989 his name was Gaius Julius Caesar, so Caesar was his last name. Other emperors then went on to add Caesar to their titles to cement their connection with him and it became a popular name for other leaders such as Kaiser meaning "King" in German.

  • @mongoose100989 you may not know this, but "ceasar" is the surname of julius and augustus(octavian),his nephew, uses and made that name "ceasar" to be the title of every roman emperor.ceasar=emperor.

  • For job, need to establish jobs that have established calender and money concepts and will than be maintaining the calender and money concepts, because of calender and money concepts. this esablishes currency 'is as a current' the way they are designed and put together., from peoples food, to water will be bound with these currency concepts and each will be paying for the kings system in every sense, from their time with sun and to job of 'tax', to market, to person. as to since birth in my city

  • I've always found the terms "Roman Republic" and "Roman Empire" to be misleading when used in the context of describing two distinct eras. In reality, the Roman Republic was most certainly an "empire" by 146 BC, the year it finally conquered Greece and destroyed Carthage in North Africa. That's more than a century before Julius Caesar's adopted son Augustus became Rome's first emperor.

  • Julius Christ.

  • I strongly suggest every person who reads this comment to read Conn iggulden's Emperor series. The first one is called the gates of rome. Those books bring Julius, Brutus, and even Octavian to life. I just finished the last book. Those books will change your view on life. Please read them.

  • I disagree. Those books weren't that good.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali Well. You suck. Completely.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali Since you read them...What happened at the end of the second book?

  • The ending of the second book was stupid.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali Hmph. Stupid. Couldn't explain one thing other than stupid? haha. What about the third? The first? gah.

  • Ave Invictus verumdominus saluteum nomen pater Julius Caesar et filius Augustus Caesar spiritus sancatus pontifex maximus imperiummaius quo Nobilissimus Pius felix princepsimperatororis triumphusAugustus Caesarus ratusfilius paxromaus armaexa illadominus ave venusmatter divus Gloriain Excelisdivus deo optimusmaximus rexusjoveusfidus Quo Romaintellectus magnus mavorsintemeratus x Pax etSalveosalvos senatuspopularis quoromanus

  • You should actually learn latin instead of doing copy and paste, it's verum dominus, imperium maius, and so on not altogether.

  • I thought the emperor Trajan conquered more land then an other Roman?

  • No, Trajan RULED more land than any Roman, not conquered.

  • God is just an idea. Peace!

  • Sir, why do you not think that the bible is considered history? Peace!

  • the real question is how Julius Ceasar was betrayed and back stabbed by the most trusted friend "Brutus" who was nothing, and Ceasar trained and trusted Brutus... the summary would be how we are betrayed by those we trust most..

  • he was brilliant and ruthless. Which is why he accomplished what he did. brutal or not he made a scar on the earth.

  • Fuck The Caesars

  • You really need to consult a history book.

    Jesus died round 33 A.D.

    Caesar died in 44 B.C.

    Rings a bell?

  • For your information, there were many Caesers during Roman empire's time. For instance, Octavius was called a Caeser during his life time, Marcus Aurelius was also called a Caeser. Anyways, you are not getting the point that this conversation is trying to get to (i.e. by whose office Jesus was condemned), my friend.

  • Well, "my friend", my comment was an answer to Turkishman72 who said, "he [Caesar] killed Jesus." Since you seem to be so educated, you might know that such a statement is pure BS. However, my comment somehow didn't show up where it should have. That should be enough of an explanation.

Scio Romae tunc imperatores appellatum esse et Mel Gibson non serium auxilium est.

    Cheers

  • dude my friend sang the brutus speech...check it out on my channel!

  • Both history and the bible are somewhat biased since both are written retrospectively on many occasions, but there are certain things that historically are accurate. Bible and history converge on many accounts. This is one of them - since it is easy to pin down time, rulers, hegemonies, mentality in place of this event. Therefore, yes, I will stick to my point here.

Although I am sure how Kenites were involved, that's the comment below by @gaiuskaiser. Maybe he can elaborate.

  • Jewish high priests killed Jesus, not Caesar!

  • Eeer.. OK? Do you have anything to proove that, or are you just a antisemitic conspiracy-nutt?

  • My friend, read your bible, or you can watch Mel Gibson's movie, it is also historically pretty accurate. Rome did not take Jesus that serious - they said he is a lunatic, and did not want to crucify him, but Jewish high priests felt very threatened since Jesus was preaching against a lot of their meaningless rituals, and proclaimed himself a king. They were the ones who wanted him tortured and dead. Rome literally left Jesus for Jewish authorities to deal with.

  • @vorotnikova The way Mel Gibson put Jim Caviezel on that cross in that film is NOT the way Romans crucified their criminals when they committed capital crimes and were caught and convicted. The way the Romans did it was alot more shameful, obscene and humiliating. Plus I don't think the flogging beforehand tore people up the way it was shown in the film - I mean they were covered with whip marks, welts and contusions but it was not anywhere nearly as bloody as it was shown.

  • Kenites pretending to be Jews killed Christ

  • @vorotnikova yes that is true Pontius Pilate was the prefect of the provvince of Judea and he only condemmed Christ becasue the jewish high priest wanted Christ to die. The jews were troublesome, and causing problems in other provinces besides Judea, so to keep peace Pilate reluctantly had Christ crucifed. Caesar who was actually Tiberius step son to Augustus, and not realted to the julians did not know anything about jewish affairs in judea, or jesus, or anything about a so called messiah.

  • @vorotnikova LOL huh ?! no , romans killed jesus , and for a good reason that he kept disturbing the roman balance which they liked so much...

read more books before u post anything

  • @vorotnikova i know it ive been there!

  • @vorotnikova No it's not correct. Jesus gave his life for human race.

  • @vorotnikova Caesar's men gave him to them. (Pontius Pilate)

  • @vorotnikova Actually my sin did. You fail.

  • is this the audio book?

  • i love julius caesar

  • Julius Caesar was one of the greatest men who ever lived.
