  • Bowers and Wilkins always fill the room with music.

  • vinyl - classic trax - vintage gear - i must be a geek because i could watch a playlist of videos of this style with varying content. this was favorited. thank you.

  • SALUTES!!!!!!! Analog WILL AWAYS kick the crap out of a Digital System!

  • This was the love/romance dance song of the roller rinks back in 1980..... The talented couples would pair skate and then the guy would try to do a lift during the "pick you up" lyrics. Mirror ball lights everywhere....sweet

  • dats a nice sistem!!!!! luv it!!! n i luvvv dis song...mannn old timesss!!!

  • lol every pedophiles sound track..... young girls beware lol just nasty

  • @mymanlovesme1 do you not stop and think maybe he was singing about a girl he knew as a 16 yo himself..seriously narrow minded *YOU ARE*

  • It's damn near impossible to sing with THIS much passion. How on earth was this only a minor hit in 1980? Forget Robert Plant or Steve Perry, Mardones had a better voice than either of them in my opinion.

  • I remember this song when I was three and it playing while I would ride in the car with my mom and she would play this song with it turned up.

  • @Brandi98225 You dont remember your first 3 years.

  • *passionate

  • 1980's version is a million times better. His voice is so passion and powerful. This song is so hardcore.

  • No es un Technics SL 1200 MK2, ¡Pero cómo sonaban esos platos! Y más con esa canción de Benny Mardones, que me trae a la memoria gratos recuerdos de mi juventud...

  • Kids might mistake that for a frisbee, I'd keep your eye on it. Nice to see a turntable for a change.

  • Nice song and kit

  • I was hitchhiking and traveling around the states as a kid of about 19 when this was a hit, and my god it certainly got played on the radio, I must have heard it three hundred times. Great to hear it again and in such good audio quality. Thank you

  • Such a simple concept and yet so brilliant! Great song. Poor working class London kid me - managed to get to America about 6 times in the 80's due to work (who would have thought!) This is one of the songs that remind me of those times. First American girlfriend, first sex with an American woman and with music like this playing, best sex i had had up to that point (American girls know their stuff!)! :)

  • yeaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!

  • It's 1980 all over again! This has always been a HUGE favorite of mine. Why in the world didn't this guy have more hits, with a voice like that! I remember hearing it many times back in the day.

  • awesome song, and sweet setup man. ViNYL FTW!

  • What is that big black round thing turning? Just kidding

  • asadraza5367 I remember it to, they release it twice one in 80, then in 89..89 it went through the roof, so he made his money..twice

  • I love both the 1980 and 1989 versions but by far the 1980 is my favorite of both. Thank you for sharing Aramisito!!!!!

  • God damn i love vinyl so much!!! Awesome track, thanks for uploading this classic :D

  • I love this song! I forgot about this song until my girlfriend played one night at a bar from a good 'ol jukebox. Nice turntable btw.

  • I love this song. I love this original version when Benny's voice was so powerful.

  • I used to listen to ths when my husband had hair and I didn't have to wear a bra.

  • n_n

  • @jgyll8mt HEY! I represent that comment! what were you 2 up to that cost your hubby his hair?...Naughty kids!

  • @jgyll8mt Brilliant

  • Love it Love it Love it.....I can remember the best times back then, just married and thought I had all the love in the world.

  • In 1980 Benny Mardones released a song called 'Into The Night', it was a minor hit.

Years later in 1989, a DJ at KZZP, a radio station in Arizona, ran a segment titled "Where Are They Now?"

The most popular question was "Whatever happened to the guy who sang 'Into the Night'?"

Then a DJ for Pirate Radio in Los Angeles, added "Into the Night" to his playlist.

Radio stations across the country followed suit and "Into the Night" went all the way to the top ten on the U.S. Billboard chart!

  • I remember when Pirate Radio in L.A. added the song to their playlist. I live in the L.A. area & the first time I heard it play on Pirate I was really surprised , but glad, & I had hoped it wasn't a one time fluke, and thankfully it wasn't. It was played quite a bit. I remember it was summer '89 I was 25 and I was off of work & stuck at home going thru cancer & was listening to Pirate Radio every day that summer & heard the song being played a lot. I miss Pirate Radio.

  • @asadraza5367 this song hit the billboard charts twice once on it's original release, and again in 89 when it was used in A movie and a whole new audience either learned to like it, or remembered they had. as for what happened to Benny, see You tube 'into the night' the Benny Mardones story" .

  • @asadraza5367

Thanks for the info!!! You summed it up perfectly. I knew it was a re release but didn't know how exactly it happened.

  • I seen Benny in concert many times and every time he was outstanding. He was always my favorite and he will forever be in my top slot as far as music goes. His music touches the heart and it brings life to meaning. Shelia C was his best and I could never figure out why it never made the chart. I always thought it was better than "Into the Night" But what do I know he is and always will be one of the best!!!!

  • presumes bien, me encantaria tener ese equipo, quiza para diciembre... si que le sacas el jugo.

  • this one and Adam Ant's Wonderful.. over and over again!

  • Incredible voice! Great ballad!

  • a college roommate of mine and I were singing this at the top of our lungs one night in, say, 1989.....5 weeks later this song charted again....too funny! of course we were not hitting the high notes like Benny.

  • an amazing voice :)

    great song :)

    great music :)

  • ldylkr It was charted twice, 80, and 89, it's the 25th most played song, spun around like 5 mill, benny still making mega loyalties of this...enough for him to retire.

  • Boy takes me back to the 80's again good ole days, they dont make music like they used to, hate this rap crap generation, they act black when there white thats pathethic man..wonder why im still stuck in the past,. 50's through the 80's is the best era..keep on rocking in the past i know i will.

  • this song is amazing. i could listen to it 100 times. he has an amazing voice and range! i sing this on my channel haha!

  • I have fantasized about this song for half my life.... I imagined who this guy was and now I wish I had just continued dreaming.... anyhow, no one can dispute the power of his voice.... the message here..... dream

  • I can listen to this song 100 times & won't get sick of it. I was 18 when it came out...

  • God, I still love this song!

  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!

  • ...just close ur eyes and listen to this voice...he's absolutely amazing..no other voice is compareable to his.

  • what is this song version called?

  • Congratulations, Good Sound... I added this to my favorites. I heard another videos uploaded here but yours seems to be better.

  • Amazing song from the 80's, brings back definite memories... me at 17, this Gorgeous State Trooper, my best friend... and NO, NOT a threesome, lol... GOOD ole' stuff though...

  • Great song and an absolutely beautiful system. Makes me long for the days when there were no crappy nasty cd things.

  • One of the best love songs of the 1980,s , just love it ,

  • this song sounds great on my ps3

  • vinal is by far the warmest best sound going... micro process this.....

  • Don't forget that vinyl is still out there and can produce some high quality sound when you have the right equipment.

  • At first ....I was like ..eh ,oh no ,not another...But then...I fell for it. This was actually very cool ! Great video post !

  • rollin a Doob on the cover of this--then-- T tops out an feelin it---- Lip Gloss shinin on my way to a Horny Liason---

  • nice system dude! what kind of amp is that? looks like u know about music

  • Denon PMA 770 - Vintage but sweet and powerful!

  • Beautiful!

  • Agreed that the vinyl version is the best one out there. I never understood the rerelease of the substandard version. Thanks for posting the only one on YouTube.

Also, nice Def Leppard "Hysteria" poster reflected in the vinyl.

  • Actually the Def Leppard "Hysteria" poster reflection is the LP Record (Vinyl Rules). Thank You for your comments/support.

  • Did Benny Bardones ever make an official video to "Into the Night"? I just can't find it on YouTube. Thanks.

  • THis is the best version. The other don't sound as good

  • Aww I like your video =]

My dad is the same way about his music.

  • I always thought the singer was Black (LOL), 1st time seeing him. Great song, great voice, very cool sound system!

    Cheers!

  • Nice sound system!!

  • Someone's proud:-}

  • is ok very good

  • This song reminds me of all the broken hearts out there. I once knew this guy who was totally normal and confident with his life.He then met a pretty girl who broke his heart. Now he's in a mental hospital. He also had a to have a triple bypass operation for his broken heart. Poor Guy.

  • Geez. Sad story. It's amazing what love and a broken heart can do for you. Always try to remember that there are plenty of people out there; try not to get too fixated or attached to one, because it can end at any moment.

  • i found out the hard way...

  • It´s dificult to get the video this song, please, someone has or gets the video!!!!

  • I thought the guy who sang this was black until I saw the video, I love this song, its freakin' awesome

  • Thank you for posting. I love this song.

  • it is a great classic tune that will always be forever rembered. i just love oldies like this

  • Benny Mardones - Into the Night (Original Version) is my favorite. When I was student in senior college, Eau Claire Wi. 1980. I love this song. Katleen Ann Collins this is for You. Te Seguire amando siempre, mi chiquilla preciosa.

Donde quiera que estes y con quien estes, te acordaras de mi.

  • This song was on Breaking Bad the other night!

  • yeah I heard it too, they were in the gas station talking, I started to sing it and my gf looked at me like I was retarded bcuz I new the words, I gotta stop dating younger women lol

  • Lol. That's the best show on tv right now!

  • I no! I never miss it! its awesome, the concept is so unique

  • I never miss it either. The writing and acting always amazes me!!!

  • yeah, its one of the few shows that you cant help but be addicted to, even though they are doing wrong you can't help but root for them

  • I know! The show is as addictive as crystal meth, lol! I've been watching from the beginning, but I really got hooked after the third episode where Walter killed Krazy-8.

  • the one episode I missed was when walter gets abducted and put in the trunk, I only caught the last 10 mins. of that episode, otherwise I haven't missed any of them

  • Do you mean the one where Tuco was killed by Hank at the end? That was one of my favorite episodes ever!

  • yeah that one, I can't believe I missed it, it looked really good, oh well, I will have to catch it when they have a marathon or something

  • Yeah that was one of the best episodes I've seen. It was really intense and nail-biting. I felt like I was getting off a rollercoaster when it was over!!!

  • well that just sux, of course I miss the best episode so far.

  • LOL! Don't worry, they'll show it again. I can't wait for tomorrow night's episode! Jesse is becoming my favorite character.

  • whoa, that was a crazy show from start to finish! I'm glad jesse hooked up with that chick too

  • Yeah, that episode was intense, from the Spanish music video at the beginning to the guy's head on the turtle that exploded!!! I figured Jesse would eventually try to hook up with the landlady. Could be good for him.

  • I work at walgreens and they play retro songs everyday, this is my favorite one of them all.

  • i work in a retail store and they play this pretty much everyday lol

  • que quiere decir "chileno"---does it mean something like "great" or "awesome"

  • It means Chilean as in someone from the country of Chile. I think Mardones is originally from Chile or has some roots there.

  • I love this song, I love his voice but I very rarely ever get to hear it on the radio. I wish they would play it more often.

  • Aramisito....this video is the only one on YouTube that plays the original 1980 version of the song. Can you uplpoad the song directly to YouTube for better sound quality? Thanks. The other videos play the 1989 version of the song which is not as good.

  • Nice sound set-up. Glad you kept the vinyl in pristine shape.

  • Benny is the man. This is one of the greatest songs from the 80's

  • The song is so beautifull but it has a video, please...!!!! Someone gets and puts the video, thanks.

  • I don't think Benny did a music video of this song....I've never seen one. This song was recorded in 1980 just before the music video era of 1982-3. This song is from the era of FM radio, vinyl albums and music cassettes.

  • NO DOUBT! This is the best song ever in the 80's ...Takes your mind out of space

  • Awesome! One of the 80s best songs and always a favorite!

  • It has been a while, Nice for a change

  • Thanks msjanedoe09 *****

  • For those who like to judge history based on today's standards - your comment really brings them a lesson. Thank you for some intellectual feedback - it is always hip to be smart....and to know history...

  • This song is nearly 30 years old; it was huge on Top 40 radio back in 1980. Benny Mardones. He was of Chilean descent, with Cleveland, Ohio roots.

16 years old? My mother was 16 when she had her first child. Trust me, she'd've prefered otherwise. 30 years ago - (almost) things were different.....

Sex education and openness with parents and their adolescent teens, help to change the lyrics of many songs from today onward.

    WINK! ;)

  • this record is not easy to find

i been looking for an into the night 45 for a long time

  • estimados banny mardones el cantante de esta cancion es chileno para que todos los sepan

  • Así es, totalmente CHILENO.

  • I was 6 when this song hit the air. Timeless... nice job.

  • I really wish some1 would post the original video to the song...

  • I just love near the end of the song when he's singing his heart out. awesome.

  • im 13, and i love this song! my parents never mentioned it before i just heard it on the radio and fell in love with it, i love oldies, i hardly even listen to the new crap that's out today, it's not even meaningful...so dont feel bad if you're young and love listening to oldies, because you're not the only one!=)

  • no encontre al tipo buena cancion ni un video

  • Great Song,

hes got a lot of soul in this one

    Nice speakers and system too

I would pull the speakers out from your rack a little to get their full potential

    thanks for the post

  • Just a brilliant, brilliant, song amd what a voice - shame it was never a hit in the UK.

  • Love it thnx for posting!!!!

  • WOOO! That mofo can sing his aSS OFF!!!

  • yeah, how old r u u sound like 14, this was when music was classic not like 2days crap

  • I think its funny when kids my age (18) make fun of me for listening to oldies...like stuff before we were born. But honestly, its funnier that they miss out on AMAZING music like this. Pussycat dolls can't compare to this. ever.

  • Awesome...thank you so much!! it is very hard to find the 1980 version of this song.......and it is the best version of this song.....

  • Classic song on a classic stereo system! Cheers.

  • This is my favorite song by Benny Mardones. I listen to it a lot.

  • I'm sure R.kelly can relate 2 this classic!LOL There is some fine jail bait out there.

  • appreciate the upload, thx.love this song.

  • Yes, the 1980 version is better than the 1989 one. Haunting, but yet pretty. Great ballad.

  • In perfect dyslexic fashion, I had thought his 1989 re-cut WAS the 1980 version! Thanks for clearing this up. (Yes, I'm legitimately dyslexic - ask me to dial a simple phone# and see what happens!) Incidentally, I find "1989" to be more raw and from the gut than the "polished"-sounding 1980 original.

Oh well, they BOTH rock just the same.

  • this is the best version of the song

  • A musical masterpiece. not something everyone could recreate. benny's voice is so distinct and unusual that it makes the song. The musical scoring is almost visual. in the intro, it's very easy to picture A heart broken man in tears, stumbling down a rainy sidewalk, trying to get home to be alone with his grief

  • Nice video....great tune
