  • Another couple of ideas. Plant some jeruselum artichokes in a flower bed along your back yard. The tubers will provide a yearly winter harvest. They grow over 6 feet tall but they look like small sunflowers most of the plant is usable as a food source. Berry plants and rosebushes will help with Vitamin C. They are easy to dehydrate and store.

  • chicken for us in ohio is 4.75 and chunky is almost 4 bucks

  • Zync is also important to healing yourself, perhaps a subsitute of this will also be good to have handy.

  • i love ur vids i have canned fruit but also have dried fruit use cans 1st and then dried 2nd alot of my stash is cans also have rice beans flour sugar inst potato oats pancake mix and bisquick all in buckets and lots of it. and plan to get a fw honeyville cans not much i plan to garden and raise rabbits and have chickens also live in a area when hunting is good.

  • start collecting coupons from your Sunday paper. Saves a lot of money on your supplies. You're doin' good man, keep it up! Love yur vids

  • first black dude w/such a vid i've seen. hooray!

  • u no u can get vitamin c from makeing pine needle tea? poor bowling water in a cup of pine needles let sit for 15min then stur

  • Buy what you can buy, when you can buy your food. That is what I am doing. Even if it's high saturated sugar, loaded on gluton can goods. Organic?? Who the hell has the money for canned organic. In a survival situation, even if it last years, you are going to need FOOD!!! Not certain waters. Not every body has Sparkletts Water money. Keep up the good work!! If these people watching have such a high expectaion on your choice of food, tell them to buy you what they think you should have then.

  • HEB puts alot of their canned stuff on sale as well as oatmeal. Today they have fruit and peanut butter for a $1. I've found cases of water as cheap as 2.88, I have 5 so far. Even dried fruit goes on sale without being advertised.

  • @DEMCAD......Good job on the prepping. I think that one thing you should also be doing as finances permit is to gather long term food that will be good for 15 to 20 years. I'm talking about freeze dried and dehydrated food in #10 cans. There are probably a half a dozen suppliers. It aint cheap but if you can get some you will be glad that you did when your canned food is gone. Hang in there amego and keep up the good work .

  • @behindeverybush1 15 to 20 years?? LOL what u expecting an asteroid strike? Naa man if there's a collapse look more towards 6 months to a year before some sort of order and structure can be reestablished and supply routes are restored. 1 to 2 years worth of supplies is more than enough along with just enough ammo to keep away intruders and opportunists.

  • If you go to Sam's wholesale or costco you can get 9 lb boxes of quick oats for the price of about two of those cylinders. Fruit is tasty but not much calories. I primarily focus on protein, fiber, calorie content when selecting food and stockpile one a day vitamins to help combat vitamin deficiencies. Vitamin tablets and immune system boosting herbs are good to have on hand too for fighting off scurvy and various diseases

  • Your prices are comparable to here in Kansas. We are watching for sales at the store and then buying in quantity. For example The local Kroger had there store store brand tuna on sales for .56 cents. We bought quite a few at that price. Nice video! Some non food items we've slowly accumulating are old school hand tools. You mentioned the wash board, think about things like saws for fire wood, axe, maul, wedge etc ...

  • I agree with you...nobody is going to refuse food in a can when the SHTF.

  • Great info. Looking foward too another video.

  • Hey Reg,

Appreciate you'r vids man. About the vitamin C, if you have pine trees around your place (and many other kinds of trees - birch, cedar..) You can make tea from the needles, bark, small twigs etc. And it contains tons of vitamin C, and many other vitamins. Just dont boil the shit out of it, let it steep. Cheers!

  • @Nickodemusodurn

Aaaand I gather people have already made that comment. Oops. But theres probably lots of food growing right in your neighborhood (and on your lawn in the form of weeds.) Check it out. Lots of books on the subject.

  • You need a sam's or costco membership. It really is worth it in the long run. You're buying in bulk, but you won't have to go crazy and get the cases of items, they do have things broken down a bit. You like oatmeal and they have oatmeal. You will save if buying for a survival pantry.

  • I'm curious, why are your viewers telling you to store organic food stuffs? Do they believe that organic somehow has better nutrition? (It doesn't , its genetically and nutritionally the exact same plant) That organic has less pesticides? (Organic uses more pesticides than conventionally grown products)

Besides, you are looking for SHTF nutrition not health food!

Look for shelf-stable, high salt, calorie dense foods for storage - exactly the opposite of what you should be eating day-to-day

  • I bought oatmeal at Wal Mart for $2.00 per box, with 10 packets per box. And, dandylion leaves have lots of calcium, vitamin C and other nutrients. They are a lot more nutritious than lettuce or spinache leaves. But, they don't taste very good raw. You need to cook them in a stir fry and soak/rinse them to get dirt off of them.

  • What about buying organic seeds for growing a vegetable garden? Sweet potatoes are a great source potassium, way more then bananas. Plus seeds are really cheap. I have tons of different varities that I got for around 20$.

  • Jalapeno peppers are loaded with vit C and easy to grow. We have oranges and citrus here in Fl so not as critical. If you want to survive on canned you better steal a truck full. Dried goods are good but their shelf like can be deleted by bugs. Dried peas, rice, flour, oats can all get bugs. More of a problem in Fl than in Mi. Because of the tropical nature and humidity in Fl. Figure 6 months shelf life unless it is vacuum sealed and in a metal box. Bugs can eat through plastic.

  • @JakeEvilclown I would go for the canned meat and fish ( worth its weight in gold) and vegetable seeds, a shovel, and pots and pans, water containers and solar still. Your going nowhere without water and you will need a gal a day to survive.

  • Here's my latest prep. Pardon the spam. I created a guild. GlobalCodeGuild.

This will let me derive income from the globe with membership income. The site tells folks how to work with software. I'm working on a prepper iphone app. Feel free to comment on what a prepper would want to help them plan. Regards Steve

ps. If the SHTF hits... I'll have a network of guild members to coordinate with.

  • would getting a food saver be a good choice? I heard the vaccum seal stuff works well

  • Thanks for mentioning Baking Soda for brushing teeth. I hadn't thought of that -- adding it to my list.

  • Great stuff. reminds me to rotate my stored food & add plenty more of it.

Don't forget about some oils to cook /season the beans, rice, pasta etc with (Olive oil if it's stored in it tins is a healthy oil). I bought some coconut milks (canned) to store as the milk is quite healthy & you can drink or cook with it (and it's great on oatmeal). Plus, spices that are dried are good to keep on hand (cinnamon, basil, etc) as they make those foods taste better & are compact.

  • You don't have enough food. Please stock up on a lot of beans. They go far. Get cases of mac n cheese, cheap and goes further. You need more water. Just want you all safe. God Bless

  • THE REASON WHY THE OATMEAL COST SO MUCH IS BECAUSE ITS NOT IN SEASON THE STORE WAS JUST PROBALY TRYING TO PURGE THE BEST TIME FOR OAT MEAL IS SEPT/ OCT

  • Get hold of some unrefined salt! Not the stuff that's brilliant white and pours like water. That's sodium chloride and is of the 'killer' foods. Literally.

When salt comes out of the sea, it's an ugly grey colour (UK spelling!) and is clumped up. This 'mess' contains everything the body needs: potassium, magnesium, iodine....among others. For reasons of profit, the food companies superheat this and extract everything except sodium chloride.

Look up 'Celtic Salt'. Available via eBay.......

  • Holy shit, Urkel ate himself

  • demcad that don't look like enough food for you and your family!!

  • wonderful video

    Peace

  • Hey DEMCAD. Only some suggestions. Dont eat white rice. Only eat brown rice it is the healthiest and it also helps our bodies get rid of any radiation inside of us(that will be something we will all need help with in light of Fukushima and a possible war involving nukes). Quinoa too. Dry beans are better than canned. Also, I had a few cases of water in my pantry for maybe eight or ten months and when I decided to drink them they ALL tasted like plastic so bad that it made me sick.

  • Rice is great. Long shelf life if stored properly, and not artificial sugar. Canned foods are okay, but not in massive quantities due to high sugar or high sodium content. Try to keep things as close to their natural state as possible. The more natural, the more healthy.

  • @DEMCAD what you know about that Chicken Corn Chowder! lol

  • The absence of color in food is an indication that said food lacks antioxidants. Navy beans are not as good for you as pintos or kidney beans.

  • Commercially canned fruits tend to have a short shelf life. Peaches will eat thru the can fairly quickly. I suggest buying a good quality dehydrator, and cut up fresh fruits and dry them out. Then use a vacuum sealer to store long term. Bananas seem to be the best deal for me. And yes, pine needles make a great green tea to provide you with the vitamin C you need. Rinse the needles, cut them in smaller pieces, and seep in hot water for 15-20 minutes. Mix in some honey and enjoy.

  • You can get wheat grinders at yard sales

  • LDS churchs have the drygoods on the cheap. You can even buy them already in #10 cans dude.

  • Rosehips (I think that's how you spell it) the part off a rose bush when the bloom falls off looks kinda woody. Anyway if you take rosehips and boil them it's said the tea has more vit C than what OJ does. Just a thought!

  • Don't know if this will help ANYONE. BUT I saw that if you you were in a SHTF situation and see a rabbit, anything you see a rabit eat a human can eat it too. Something about a rabbits body and the human body being similar. Just a thought!

  • Not sure if you know this or not but the dates on the cans are a best by suggestion not a go bad date if cans are stored properly most can go well beyond that date.

  • DEM, try Sam's Club or Costco for that canned chicken. Sam's has 5 cans for under $10 & it's premium quality with a best by date about 2 years ahead. :)

  • Sugar dehydrates u quicker get nuts or whatever .. sry in the phone doing this

  • I'd suggest getting real fruit or another source of vitamin c doles is unhealthy bro reason is taste so sweet just look at the sugar that cancel the healthy

  • All seems a bit crazy but if SHTF I will be saying "Dam I should have stored more". But I do keep about 3 months of food in the house.

  • i suggest picking up some tang. Lots of vitamin c. And eastern White pine has vitamin c in the needles.

  • maxipads or other similar it is good for obsorabing blood hydrogen perxiode wound care sorry a little drunk cant spell haha get also some paper towels gloves and travel to closest states see if prices are different if so make some bulk purchases and look at coupons they can help but pay attention to store policies hope it helps good luck hope to see more folks like u in the future

  • if you are concerned about vitamine C you better reduce sugar as much as possible. sugar will effect your calcium absorption which will effect your vitamine C absorption which will lead to vitamine C deficit.

in other words: get rid of all those syrup added "foods"

  • ACE wraps are a good item to have. They eliminate the need for tape on skin. As anyone who's had to have medical care, they'll tell you that tape or adhesive is HELL on skin. Just make sure you put something absorbent and clean underneath the ACE (like a pad!). An ACE is washable and reusable, just consider cross contamination of you share it with others.

  • As far as bandages go, get lots of feminine hygene products. The pads are great as wound dressings for wounds with heavy blood or drainage. Tampons are wonderful for nosebleeds.

  • Dude, check out my food inflation videos!

  • Emergen c packets are also great sources of vit C. I drink a couple of packets daily. They are expensive but if you use coupons and buy on sale, you can save 5 or 6 dollars off the regular retail price. Great Channel Demcad :D

  • Tang is a good source of vitamin C.

  • I am storing can foods and have for a couple of years and the other dry food. I rotate and give stuff away when things start getting close to the dates. I don't like eating them often, but for an emergency---they will be there!!! You can buy whey protein,( it has the enzynes in it too) and cheap (fairly good) Vit c at costco or sams club. Best price I have found especcially for vit c pills.

  • I am storing can food, vitamin pills and rice, its cheap and it is what I can afford so I am sticking to it, I do not care what poeple says

  • 1/4 Cup of raisins give 10% potassium and 9% fiber. Oh, and they do last almost forever too. Throw them on top if dandelion greens for a great salad. The greens give the Vitamin C and more. Thanks for the videos.

  • You're paying too much.Recently I bought

Quaker oatmeal on sale with coupon $2.50 each ( I bought 10 )

    Canned beans on sale 3 for $1.00 (I bought 10 cases @ $8.00 a case)

Natural Protein powder on Amazon ($70.00 for a 10 lb bag)

3 diamond Almonds on sale $1.99 a can (bought a case of 24)

All that for just $225 and if that's all I had I could live off that for 6 months.

You just have to be smart and stock up on sales and use coupons with sales items and you will build up your pantry alot faster.

  • I bou nuffered Vit C from Trader joes. get 5 of em and will last you like 3 yrs. about 10 backs a pop at trader joes. 1/4 teaspoon is 1000mg,

  • how you gonna cook your food if the shtf ?? great channel

    fredde

  • @hobbexp I'm working on that solution right now and I'm going to do a video on that in Aug.

  • @DEMCAD Is your family undertaking any preparatory measures on their own behalf? Are you planning to compile enough emergency stores for you AND your family if they are not?

  • @DEMCAD I was watching your food storage, and I'm curious to how you will cook your dry rice/beans in the event that theres no power in a SHTF situation? .

    Thanks

  • @ASAT225 propane????

  • Comment removed

  • @hobbexp propane or fire. You don't have to cook canned food.

  • You really want to spend some extra money and buy a bag of apples each week. Wash them thorougly before you eat them, and eat one before you go to bed each night. They will help make you feel full and they will neutralize excess stomach acid during the night to help you sleep. Also, fresh fruits are simply better for you. In addition, fresh apples will least for a few weeks, so long as they are kept in reasonable temperatures (i.e. 75 degrees or less).

  • Having canned foods is a good idea, but all of the processing and preservatives in the canned foods aren't good for you. If you have to use them for a long period of time or make them a lifestyle until collapse, you might be causing youself health problems in the future when you can least afford it. For example, if you have any family history of diabetes, then you really want to watch the kinds and amounts of canned foods you eat. The same goes for Heart Disease.

  • USA Emergency supply has Mylar bags, several different grinders, and Gamma Seal lids among other supplies, if you are interested, check them out.

  • I just get the V8 bottles instead of cans

  • 5 stars !!!!!

  • preess puaze and then kep pushing 6 ,, Love it mean

  • Get the weekly ad for ALL your local stores sent to your email inbox... CATCH THE SALES MAN... DOLLAR STORES, BIG LOTS, WALMART etc... GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS...

  • if anything happen send me a message i send you money Demcad :D

  • if Daster come I need to call Demcad for sume tips he will give..:)

  • Dollar store is your friend...

  • longer term storage baby. most greener storage is junk. Brands lol you by the premium brand lol tell them too stfu. yes fresh fruit better but key word storage, long term.

  • great vid who cares if its organic when you are hungry!!

  • Nice video as always! You could consider getting more beans in grain instead of canned. You can also store it for long periods of time and they tastes much better. I would get a 20 lb bag or two. I have started a garden in my back yard with corn and other vegetables and some fruit, have you considered doing that? Thanks for the video!

  • Demcad, one of the best sources of vitamin C is sprouts. You can buy all kinds of sprouting seeds and portion them out and store in the freezer. They will last for many years. Take them out as needed and sprout them for salads and sandwiches. Mung beans, radishes, broccoli, wheat, all make good sprouts and are very healthy.

  • its YOUR prefrance when they pay for it, then you worry about it.

  • Reg: Vitamin C, get powdered vitamin C crystals. It is about 5,000 mg per teaspoon. Good bang for the buck. I can with it to hold color and add acid. Go to Puritan's Pride, buy one, get two free, buy 2, get 3 free, etc. Look for the crystals. Great thing to have on hand. It is relatively inexpensive. Let me know if you need more info on this.

  • Demcad you do understand i hope that staying in any city in a real SHTF and surviving in place is suicide dont you! you must store only the lite foods that you can run with or face being eatin with it by the first cannible mob that catches you. you will be facing a new Dark age and remember the last one was 900years long. watch (the dark age from net flicks) relocate to a rual area and do your preping there> Canning, drying , smoking that you raised your self

  • Demcad!.....stop buying those pop top cans.....southernprepper1 proved that they don't last and will unseal themselves!!!! Just a Heads Up!!!! Love this channel man

  • @PrepperLePew Great point stay away from the pull top cans they dont last.

  • @PrepperLePew -Didn't know this about pull-top cans. Thanks for the info.

  • @PrepperLePew -I didn't know that about pull-top cans. Thanks for the info!

  • I LOVE the Nutrimill wheat Grinder! course, it is electric, but I will get a Wondermill Jr with the Lazy Hillbilly ( Drill ) attachment to grind wheat in SHTF!! Din't forget, go to the nearest LDs Cannery near you, while most still let Non Mormons in!! Alot of the Watds are stopping non members from purchasing, as word is really out!! I have a All American 921 that I canned Chicken and beef and pork and turkey in, !! Pressure canning is worth the investment up front!!

  • The U.S. government has no credibility in terms of restoring America. The government is living off its past reputation, like a once great entertainer grown tired and going through the motions

  • Instant lemonade (just add water) is a great source for vitamin C. Same with Tang. Much easier to stock up on vitamin C through liquids than food (in dry powder form).

Also you should check out Walmart for canned food items. I live here in Northern California and the Walmart here sells your 12.5 ounce Tyson chicken breast chunks for only $2.39. Canned fruit, no more than $1. Beans are same price out here.

  • If you only process small ammounts of wheat every day it might be better if you get a descent mortar and pestle to make flour. It is cheaper and there is nothing to break on this.

  • @demcad Food is food Reg, get all you can. My feeling is some is always better than none. Keep doing your thing brother.

  • Vitamin c deficiency was a major problem in certain areas of africa who basically only ate rice and basic foods (it lead to blindness). To solve this scientists invented a GM rice that contained a small amount of vitamin c.

It may be something to look into, I'm not sure what stores sell it but I also think storing some vitamin pills are a bit more convenient than cans. A pack of vitamins the size of a can (which is only a days worth of vit C) could last you a month.

  • if you live in a big city you might want to think about that first before you buy a bunch of pinto beans and rice.

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • how about stocking up on anti-biotics ?

  • how about stocking up on multi-vitamins ?

  • plenty of vitamin c rich pine trees in cali. the short pine needles are what you want. they have a citrus taste to it. not sure about the long pine needles.

  • Alright...

How is the world going to end DEMCAD?

  • @Razlo5000 if you've checked the driest century in America growing crops - dying corn, dying cattle, no water - is right now, you should have your answer. Top that off with food stamps cut off & high inflation leading to hyper-inflation and the USA & many nations too will be on threat of mass die-offs. NOW

  • @ytgv3fc7

    Wasn't asking you.

  • @Razlo5000 if it's a public comment it's the same thing. I will say what I want to say & when I want to say it.

  • if something happens where its down to your year supply of tang and chili beans billions of people will die.

  • Demcad...how are you set for water purification? I know you have a supply of water, with your 5 gal. bottles and such. But what happens when that runs out? Of course, there's boiling your water after pre-straining it through a coffee filter. But have you checked into some type of water bottle with the filter built in? Or perhaps a Big Berkey system? Have some 'Regular' unscented Clorox bleach on hand, to help you purify a 'suspect' water supply. 8-10 drops per gal. then 30 min. to aerate it out.

  • another suggestion is a rose bush...rose hips are very high in vitamin C...more so than oranges...plus roses aren't usually viewed as a food source....making them a stealth garden item....just a suggestion....

  • hey demcad thanks to your videos i have begun nagging my parents to store food.even though there not getting the idea an storing veggies and no soup!!!but its a start.

  • I been buying canned pinapple from costco, 6 cans per box for $8.50 packed in 100% juice. Go to Walmart and get digestive enzymes with acidopholous, that is what you are missing with canned food.

  • You can get vitamin C from rose hips (the fruit of the rose bushes) and they dont taste half bad...think grainy apple taste. I also store multi-vitamins. I buy cans of mandarin oranges from Aldi's for $.50 so I buy them by the case. Also when buying food for SHTF I look for caloric density as I dont have a whole lot of room for storage(my wife limits me to half the basement) Treet canned lunch meat for example has about 800 cals per can and I get them at biglot for $1.15 a can.

  • @Machiavelli1513 I never read the comments. I simply posted what I already knew. I'm 3 generations from being 100% native american.

  • You should look into canning and can your own fruit. You can get fruit on sale, buy in bulk, then can it yourself.

    Just an idea. :)

  • Great video Demcad! If you haven't already watched the latest video from Pastor Dowell, you need to. It's called "Police shoot unarmed man". It made my blood boil and I'd love to get your take on it.

  • You need to purchase FREEZE DRIED FOOD.

  • Comment removed

  • Most of the foods you show have high water content. Better to buy or prepare dried foods as they will last longer and easier carry in you have bug out.

  • @DEMCAD I love your videos but this isn't "survivalist". The native american indians cured explorers with tea made from the bark and needles of pine trees. Pine trees are very high in Ascorbic Acid.

  • @Junglecat1776 You just stole what NewAmericaNow said a few hours ago and worded it differently. I never understood why people do that so much on youtube. They see a valid comment and then a few minutes, hours, or days later they say precisely the exact same thing as if they were the first ones to post it. Hopefully it wasn't intentional....You probably did it subsciously after reading the other guy's post....I just find it odd why people do that....lol

  • I make my own instant oatmeal 1/2 cup old fashioned oats mixed with 1/2 cup quick cook oats 1/8 tsp salt, 1 to tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp white sugar, 1 tsp powdered coffee creamer. From here I make batches with raisins, dates walnuts or just cinnamon or fruit. You make want to look in the international spice isle for Goya Jamon packets to help give killer flavor to those beans.

  • when is this food shortage going to start ?

  • @swami24u "read in between the lines",.....as prices begin to rise, that's why all this preppin' is so fundamental,....better to not need the stored food than need it and not have it. goes the same with medicine, ammo and other necessities.

  • great vid! check out Beyond Tangy Tangerine for vitamines.

  • With vitamin c it is called scurvy and is prevented and cured by vitamin c rich foods. The British navy discovered the connection between citrus fruits and preventing scurvy and use to carry limes for long sea voyages and was why British sailors were called limeys. For vitamin c canned pineapples are the best source. That is why I have pineapple in my food storage is for the vitamin c.

  • Demcad. People may criticize your food choices but at least you won't be hungry when shtf.

  • Oh I forgot..if you are going to start storing dry beans/rice...you might want to invest in a "Gamesaver" plastic food sealer. Brooklynprepper has great videos on how to store dry food airsealed with a gamesaver.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Demcad. Remebet, highly acidic canned foods have a shorter shelf life then alkaline ones, and take on the taste of tin much sooner. So for example, canned pears/peaches/apples are going ro stay yummy longer then pineapple/tomatoes ect. Keep up the great vids, and don't forget COFFEE MMmmmm!

  • Dittos on the TANG instant beverage. Not only does it help with the VIT C issue BUT...also..man..in a survival situation....YOU WILL WANT something sweet and delicious to drink.

  • Criticism about your canned goods is crazy! In a SHTF/WROL situation, people will be killing for those cans of food! We have become so accustomed to "plentiful" food supplies. Jut get to Cosco or maybe Sams to see if you can get some of the large bottles of multiVitamins to supplement your diet. Until you are in a place where you can grow your own veggies and fruits, you are doing the best you 'can'. Peace.

  • cans are fine as long as you rotate you food storage and consume before exp date. make sure your by only thing you will eat. beans and grains are less expensive if you buy in bulk 20lb bags and will keep for decades if properly stored.

  • Oatmeal gets bugs

  • @btigtime2 Extra protein! Actually you can freeze grains to kill bugs or pack in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers to store for long term. The Mormons have done a bunch of research on food storage (search online at BYU) and are very good at how and what to store. Oatmeal will last for years and is a good source of protein. Honey lasts longer than you will. Combine the two for a pretty tasty, nutritious meal.

  • @prescottbill That is what I told my wife... She did not like that answer... I told her she is not hungry enough... the Oat meal went to the chickens, so in a way we ate the oat meal

  • demcad make sure you get protein!!

  • I have my food stores but sometimes I wonder after buying, storing this food will it be me who eats it? or somebody who finds my stash after I been kilt in a gun battle with the FEMA forces?

Will somebody stumble into it when they raid my house?

Fluck it, just live life, your food storage will probaly benefit somone else.

  • Luv campbell's soup, chicken with rice, chicken noodle, cream of tomato, carrot, asparragus, a 425 gr. can of campbell's soup goes for $15.99 = $1.78 usd but yeah food's goin' up,....as for powdered milk, a 500gr. bag that yields 4 liters of milk, last year at this time(july) it cost $25.00, this year at this present month it goes for $39.00,....as for vitamin c i'd recommend you plant a lime or other citrus tree but you up north!=P*****

  • Don't listen to the "experts"! The damn russians in Stalingrad survived on glue and wood chips for crying out loud. Too many people think if you don't have spices and caviar your going to die. They are all nuts. get a few dozen cans of Dinty Moore it's good for decades. I used some butterscotch topping yesterday that expired in 2009.... I'm still here!!

  • What about extra boots and Shoes?

  • Those "premier chickens" are so unwell feeded that they've got their bones braking when you manipulate theim ! That's the ugly truth.

  • Tyson... "premium chicken" !!!! Mate seriously those premium chickens are grown in cages, put under hormones and stressed all their life. I was one of those underpaid "mexicans" working in chicken factories. You guys really should see how they fuck with your food. "Tyson" ? Mate buy your chicken local, smoke it yourself and pack it yourself. I know it's less dollars in your pockets but more life expectancy !

  • "food, Inc." available on youtube right now.

  • hey demcad you can buy 50lbs of rolled oats for @$12 or less at a feed store all you need to do is winnow it. dont over look feed stores or tractor supply stores. you can get antibiotics there also.

  • "DOLE" ... carrefull mate. I invite you to watch "Food inc" documentary. Economic collapse or not, you guys are killing yourself in both cases by letting them put shitload of sugar, gme and additives in your plates. Nothing is labelled propelly in USA. No tracability. Buy local mate, you guys got good farmers who make their best to give you quality food.

  • I'm based on a french doco I've seen a while ago in which they were investigating abusive labelling on such products. 80% of canned fruits and juice sold in supermarkets were telling shit about the vitamin content of their products. I guess it might be the same in America. The contrary would surprise me ;)

  • Dude for the fruits, you better get vitamin C in pills rather than in fruit cans. Saying that a pre squeezed orange juice is full of vitamin C is a big scam because it loses very quickly in content as this vitamin is very fragile and volatile. Sure, a 100% full natural juice will be good but almost no vitamin C when the fruits are coupled with other materials like water, sugar, etc...

  • You really need to get hooked up with someone that has access and can get you in as a guest at your local Mormon Cannery Demcad.. buying bulk is where the savings at.

  • Growing your own food solves both of your problems. 1. you have fresh food all the time, 2. the price never goes up.

  • Hi Demcad , I learned a couple years ago that people should not stack their 5 gallon buckets any higher than 2 or 3 high because the weight may damage the lid seals on the bottom bucket ( just so ya know)

    Great video , Thanks

  • Dole has 64 oz cans of Pineapple juice for 2-4$ a can and is very high in vitamin C and will also give you an energy boost with the natural sugars.

  • You said an area that you might be weak at is bandages and things of that nature but what about your entertainment? You might get a little bored if the electricity goes out. I know you might have a generator but that will only last so long and you might want to save the gas for more important things. The channel Greenpowerscience has some pretty good ideas on how to generate some electricity which you could use to power a tv and dvd player or maybe even your computer.

  • Only problem with canned goods is the weight.

Anyone complaining that you have too many canned goods for any other reason simply has too much time on their hands, and nothing else to complain about.

  • Beans take a while to be ready to eat from the bag so you will need a lot of water to soak them in. Canned beans might be better idk, maybe someone here has an idea?

  • @screwopenborders hmm....how about processed beans in plastic pouches, the canned beans have a funky taste, but the plastic packaged beans are really quite cheap and weird taste to 'em, a pack of 430grams of refried beans goes for $8.80 = $1.34 usd.

  • @qualqui Thanks.

  • Damn Demcad....isn't there an ALDIS supermarket around your neighborhood?? 4 bucks is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!

  • u ever thought about a dehydrator and vacuum sealer it really helps as well as canning especially in long term ability to preserve food through canning is the best

  • Very simple Vitamin C...Pine needles or green inner bark of the evergreens....make into tea or add to vinegar...Vuala Vitamin C...Old Indian remedy for scurvy. Preppers must learn to survive without store bought crap .

  • @NewAmericaNow

You must know about B17, too. ;-)

  • old cotton (like sheets, shirts, etc) washed in hot water with bleach and cut into strips makes real good and cheap bandages

i enjoy your vids...thx for making them

  • This video's thumbnail looks exactly like Reggie lighting up a big bowl of weed for a nice long toke. Reg, that's a good idea once your prep is done, but if you try it BEFORE doing your prep, you might end up storing nothing but Doritos! Be careful!

  • I think your doing good w/your preps. Consider you can always sprout beans and lentils and other legumes as well for highley nutrional micro greens. I did that with lentils, it tastes like shit but if it hit the fan who cares..

  • you should look into a dehydrator and vacuum sealer supplies, saves money and can be healthy

  • I live next to a big walmart, guess where we're headed when shtf...

  • @U1776 Guess where everyone else around you will be headed when the shtf...
