An absolutely great, great light. I have one & will not part with it. Anyone trying to find one today all I can say is GOOD LUCK!! Got mine back in 1986 and they were as rare as hens teeth then!!!!
I remember when these were removed from all the rigs and were sold at an auction for about 5 bucks. I still have one buried in a box in the garage, I really should dig it out! These ligthbars did make their way south, if you ever watch the movie "Sugarland Express" several state trooper's cruisers have'em. I think it was Texas or Louisiana.
Very popular back in the late 60's to mid 70's Chicago Fire Department engines, trucks and rescues and with the addition of the famed Mars 888 light in front of the rigs, very compelling and a attention getter!!!! I really miss them, it spells "Chicago"....
Chicago police and fire depts. used Mars products for years, because the inventor of the Mars light was a local Chicago boy--Jeremiah Kennelly, a firetruck driver who realized his rig needed more warning power. Frank Mars, owner of Mars candy (M&M candy, etc) had his factory across the street from the fire station, and befriended the inventor. He believed in Kenelly's inventions and gave him the money he needed to start his company--Kenelly thanked Mars by naming the new company after him.
One thing I hate about new warning lights these days is that everything is basically the same. Not as much uniqueness as there was back then.

If you ever decide to sell or trade it for another type of lightbar keep me in mind.

If the bulbs are bright enough, these things are easily as good as a modern lightbar, considering the quick, sharp flashes.

I remember seeing 2 of these in Lenawee Co Michigan where I live. Blissfield had 1 & Madison had 1.
