Sometimes I do that if the hair style is short, I'd always use the same colour as the hair, unless they're bald, and then if any of it does show it blends in.
Hi, I've used formers before but I prefer to have the head flat at the back, I find when I come to put the hair on I can just fill it out with this when forming the style. :0)

I'm fascinated by the way you are sculpting the face:)
Could you make another smooth piece flat on one side and attach them together, for the back of the head, then work on the seam to hide it?

dont you worry about having a flat head at the back? because everytime i have made a head and done it in a table it goes very flat
