Killer Insinct 3 would never work on Kinect. It would be dumbed down and made stupid if it was Kinect compatible. I hope they suprise the hell out of all of us and make a KI 3, but it probably would be on the next Xbox system. Wrong. Rare owns the rights to the series' they created. Killer Instinct is one of them. Whey they haven't released anything is beyond me, but just because they have not done so doesn't mean they can't. That isn't how things work. It is still their property. That's confirmed. They just choose to do nothing. The most likely reason is their new recent shift to casual games. Of course there is a market for Killer Instinct, but it's just not their focus right now. Sucks, I know.

I don't think it's really about approval. Rare in that case is the developer and Microsoft would be Publisher. It's just that Rare has been very busy with the Kinect and I'm sure doing more updates with the avatars I would think. They just have allot on their plate. Even Ken Lobb announced that if they where going to make a K.I. 3 they would re-release the Coin-op version of the first one with no graphical changes and see how well it sells to see if people are interested in it still.
I don't understand why Rare would ignore the fact that there are MILLIONS of gamers who would buy KI3 (even if it sucked) immediately. Why would they focus their efforts on games that MIGHT do well, when they have one that is GUARANTEED to do well regardless. Why not just throw millions of dollars of revenue away and keep their fans disappointed. Seems like a no-brainer to me... Look at the Duke Nukem Forever situation and learn. All we KI fans want is an actual Killer Instinct game reminiscent from the arcade, because all we got our hands on was with a downgraded SNES port and an N64 game that just didn't work because of that awkward controller.

That's why they want to try something different.
@1shoryuken In fact, if it weren't for the insane combo system, Killer Instinct could even be considered a fucking Street Fighter clone!! They used the exact same button layout (light, medium, fierce,) and the characters were very similar movewise, to characters already used in SF (Orchid = Chun Li, Jago = Ryu & Ken, TJ Combo = Balrog.) The only thing that separated KI from SF was the combo system and the pre-rendered 3D-2D characters.

I said SIMILAR moves and characters, I didn't say they looked at each character's move list and copied them frame by frame.

Yeah pretty much what I said, and my Opinion it was the best choice. Yeah they did wondrous things on the Nintendo systems, but while Perfect Dark was in production allot of the original members of Rare started to leave the company. Damn shame as well Some of their original titles are not to bad I enjoyed Kameo, but would be nice to see is a Re-make of Jet Force Gemini. Like how they did with PD but I'd take a new Killer Instinct any day or at least the coin-op version on XBLA.

If they make a new KI3, it would probably sell as fast as a match lights gas. Not only would the gamers be happy with this, but Rare would also rake in the dough and then everyone would be happy. The only thing they CAN'T do is put it on natal... it would be irresponsible as gamers themselves to do that. Also they have to have all characters included from the 1st and 2nd games and keep the name as KI3 to keep it as awesome as it always has been.
As Microsoft bought out Rare hence the NXE dashboard update they made. You can try to say "Oh but they made Donkey kong that's ok but they're not allowed to make anymore. It was a project that nintendo had do for them not to mention KI originated at the Arcades, and was only slapped with nintendo's name on the game because they obviously ported it to the SNES.

Killer Instinct although over 10 years old is still going strong. And is getting more and more popular. If rare doesn't make a new Killer Instinct they would be a failure at marketing. @HumorousLOL outside the box, like "Killer Instinct: Killer Groove" where you dance to the killer cuts soundtrack? because that's what the kinect is only good at : Party & Dance games.
All we KI fans want is an actual Killer Instinct game reminiscent from the arcade, because all we got our hands on was with a downgraded SNES port and an N64 game that just didn't work because of that awkward controller.

@1shoryuken I'm not talking about a dance game. I'm talking about creating a fighting game using a different method than people are already used to (6 button, round one fight, 3d.) You can make all the sarcastic replies you want, but you know I'm right, fighting games in general are not that innovative for the same reason foot ball games aren't, they work using a similar formula over and over, no matter what company makes them. That's why they want to try something different.

@1shoryuken In fact, if it weren't for the insane combo system, Killer Instinct could even be considered a fucking Street Fighter clone!! They used the exact same button layout (light, medium, fierce,) and the characters were very similar movewise, to characters already used in SF (Orchid = Chun Li, Jago = Ryu & Ken, TJ Combo = Balrog.) The only thing that separated KI from SF was the combo system and the pre-rendered 3D-2D characters.

@1shoryuken Pretty much. Just because they didn't copy the game EXACTLY which is what you think I'm saying, doesn't mean it isn't a clone. Did you even read why I said it was pretty much a SF clone? Probably not. Either way it doesn't matter, and it doesn't change the fact there are only two major differences between KI and SF, and I listed them both. I said SIMILAR moves and characters, I didn't say they looked at each character's move list and copied them frame by frame.

Yeah pretty much what I said, and my Opinion it was the best choice. Yeah they did wondrous things on the Nintendo systems, but while Perfect Dark was in production allot of the original members of Rare started to leave the company. Damn shame as well Some of their original titles are not to bad I enjoyed Kameo, but would be nice to see is a Re-make of Jet Force Gemini. Like how they did with PD but I'd take a new Killer Instinct any day or at least the coin-op version on XBLA.

If they make a new KI3, it would probably sell as fast as a match lights gas. Not only would the gamers be happy with this, but Rare would also rake in the dough and then everyone would be happy. The only thing they CAN'T do is put it on natal... it would be irresponsible as gamers themselves to do that. Also they have to have all characters included from the 1st and 2nd games and keep the name as KI3 to keep it as awesome as it always has been.

As Microsoft bought out Rare hence the NXE dashboard update they made. You can try to say "Oh but they made Donkey kong that's ok but they're not allowed to make anymore. @raziel899 there have been many new donkey kong games since the snes and n64 but there hasnt been a new Killer Instinct. Donkey Kong is worn out. Killer Instinct although over 10 years old is still going strong. And is getting more and more popular. If rare doesn't make a new Killer Instinct they would be a failure at marketing.
