  • @crescentridge Just posted a vid response of your arrangement, hope you like it, totally loved what you did with the song! had to try it out, was great fun to learn, quite tricky figuring out the intro melody from watching your vid!

  • @antavachron Approved my man! I am honored - you sound great!!!

  • @crescentridge Thanks!! glad you approve :)

  • Hey Adam, I love how you were able to play the intro up high like the record. The bass line adds so much. I do love this song and do my own arrangement with vocals. I've adapted a style with open string chords to accompany myself. It's fuller if I play in the lower register, because my guitar doesn't have the depth that yours has. I need to redo the video, but I'd love for you to give it a listen and see what you think. I do Overjoyed with vocals using mostly your arrangement. pinochioII

  • @1212surface I struggled with this, too, so I ran the video through AmazingX to slow it down, and then I was able to pick out where the bass lines up with the melody. Once you have that in your head, you can groove on it pretty well. I love this arrangement, and I love playing it.

  • you have any idea if you'll ever be able to put this song into tab or power tab form??? just curious, thanks!

  • i really like the 2:03 part of the song.. and wherever that part repeats.. i think you really did that part very well.. human nature is more about the fleetingness than the bass... the running melody.. it is light.. like water flowing through a small brook.. and there's light glistening..i was in the car.. and i couldn't wait to hear the way you played that part again..it's magical.. thank you :)

  • Very nice playing Sir ;-) Thanks a lot for this magic moment !

  • Unbelievable, what a great guitarplay!

You are with your heart and soul musicians. Great!!

    Greets from germany :-)

  • Bravo. Excellent, as always.

  • Playing guitar like this should be forbidden !!!

You surely know Rodrigo y Gabriela, just like them (but in another way) you give songs another life and i just want to thank you for that.

  • Everytime I watch one of your videos I find I spend the rest of the day locked in my house (trying) to play my guitar! Excellent song and what a wonderful version!

    I happy to recognize that

  • Superb Adam. Definitely no shortage of pizazz!

  • Losshack bring me here... I like this!

  • W O N D E R F U L !!!! :)) THANKS !!!!

  • this is gorgeous....i really respect what you do, it's got so much soul and passion. i'm a huge mj fan and this is one of my favourites so i'm so glad you did this one :-) beautiful

  • another amazing video!!! Adam, I am from Brazil... how can I get any of your products??

  • Long time listener/subscriber, first time commenter lol. I was compelled to tell you how amazing I think this is...just brilliant man. All your vids are sick but this is probably my favourite MJ song ever and definitely my favourite that you have done. THANK YOU FOR THIS!

  • @ChadPriceMusic Wow man, thanks. I was afraid this one wouldn't have the pizazz, but you & others seem to be digging it!!! Thank You, God Bless!

  • aarrghhh i wanna buy your book right away! i love your music, man!

  • Damn I love that intro/ending.... NaS used it on "It aint hard to tell" classic (good tribute)

  • This is brilliant man....really chilled out. Subscribed

  • This is so WOW, Human Nature is my absolutely favourite MJ song, thanks so much for playing it. The Beginning and the end is... I have no words ... Greetings from Germany, regina + erik .

  • Winking a sleepless eye;) AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • This is absolutely brilliant, Adam. I think this is one of your best MJ renditions, and that's saying A LOT considering your others! There's just something about this one. It sounds like a mixed recording. The dynamics are great, and the way you separated the bassline and the melody from everything else is just mind-blowing!

  • @GlassTuxedo Thanks! Glad you noticed, as I did actually use a different recording technique this time...one mic, one direct line. I had so much noise in the environment, I figured I'd try something new. Also - I had to really check out the exact bassline. Thanks for listening closely!

  • this. is. awesome. never heard an arrangement this engaging!

  • Gosh Adam, I was hoping you'd play this for soooo long. Absolutely worth the wait. This sounds incredible mate. Fantastic work. That intro is killer! :D

  • Is this in standard tuning?

  • i really hope to see u play "heal the world" and "you are not alone" in a GROOVY way soon....I luv Igor's heal the world but less tap...

  • oh man I love this song! You did a fantastic jop with arrangement! I would love it soo much to jam around with you:)

  • brilliant!!

  • Simply magical..

  • Typical Adam Rafferty sound..Bass, intro, picking...blabla..... Yes, sounds a little bit like Igor P. and CorradoEquilibrati but thats the same song and has a catchy sound. You can play it reverse. Than its different.

I think every Version has it´s personality and "Wow-effect-parts" and thats the essential.

  • great Job!!!

  • really cool.. one of my acoustic guitar hero.. More please :)

  • ive been playing guitar on and off for 40 years and this guy makes me want to quit of really practice ...hard

    Awesome, big fan

  • I would pay for this tab...awesome arrangement.

  • Awesome!!....again, U DA MAN!!! makes John Mayers version at MJ's funeral look boring : )

  • Igor Presnyakov style

  • really really really nice , I want to see more of original song

  • Adam is in an elite class of finger style guitarists with Emmanuel and Huttlinger. No disrespect to Igor, but Mr. Rafferty is world class. And a classy guy. On Thanksgiving, thank you Adam for your talent.

  • Great as usual...and a little bit more

  • This is great!!!

  • Brilliant, Adam. You have given to me a happy morning!

  • he's just as brilliant as usual :-)

  • That must be the first time I've heard the intro done right.

    VERY well done.

  • @qwijyboNZ Thanks for noticing! It's the trickiest part of the tune! Also check out the very end...

  • @crescentridge do you sell tabs for that song?

  • @qwijyboNZ

yeah ...i so agree with u

  • aside from arrangement similarities and stuff, i feel like ya'll should at least give props to igor presnyakov because i feel like a lot of yours/other style and influence comes from him. no disrespect, in fact, all respect. one love, tim.

  • @XredruM I love Igors playing. My ideas don't come from him though - he and I do however like a lot of the same songs!

  • @crescentridge i appreciate the response. excuse my comment and continue your contribution to our ears.

  • @XredruM Clearly you cannot differentiate stylistically, I listened to both arrangements and clearly they're completely different compositional personalities involved in the arrangements. Nevertheless i'm sure adam will take your condescension as a compliment..!

    Mr Pregnant Music..!

  • Comment removed

  • @XredruM I have to say i think its extremely rude of you to suggest who Adam should be paying respect to!!! no disrespect to Igor but i would suggest his inspiration is more rock orientated and it shows when he plays more dance/funk stuff, also Jazz,Blues,Funk originated in the U.S not Moscow!! Do ya think Adams influences might be closer to home??? And as for arrangement, did you hear that intro?? also its in the same key as MJ,s. i like Igors playing but you are way off the mark!!!!

  • @tonyd59 Not to counter your broad point, but your argument about Adam's influences being "closer to home" really carries no water. Foreigners are often some of the best students of American music. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones were British bands influenced by traditional American music, are you going to say they somehow suffered from being across the pond?

  • Gang, Adam here. Many of us guitar pickers are playing the same songs, so yes there is a similarity, at first. Go beyond that, listen to touch, groove, tone - and each of us pickers has a unique "voice". Music all that has nothing to do with race or nationality - it has strictly to do with talent and hours put in practice wise. Of course, if you are exposed to a style as a kid, you may have a leg up on someone coming to the style later in life, but that's from hours spent, not nationality.

  • @crescentridge National gangs are often the best pickers cause they groove to the same tone while having unique voices for the same songs... ;)

  • @AkiraMusic I agree with you totally,i didnt mean to suggest a "foreigner" couldnt play Jazz,Funk,Blues etc merely that as Adam was a former blues/jazz player in Harlem,XreDrum,s suggestion seems ill-conceived and a tad disrespectful thats all.

  • @tonyd59 Fair enough, cool.

  • Very subtle fine playing,

    Beautiful!..:-)

  • Good playing . Btw. very similar arrangement to great Igor Presnyakov .

  • @mrmrgitaro Igor is awesome!!!!

  • @mrmrgitaro It's really not though. They are both solo acoustic guitar arrangements of the same song, but that's sort of where the similarities end. Adam and Igor have very different styles, and I think that definitely comes through with their respective versions of this piece.

  • beautiful

  • You did it again Adam!!!!

  • what do u look for in an acoustic guitar as far as sound/tone, when purchasing?

  • youre pretty much my idol.. even though i dont play fingerstyle.. maybe one day i will.

  • VERY GOOD!!

  • Very good Job Adam !

    Good groove & feeling.

Hi by a fan from France :)

  • Great job Adam!!! This is my favorite MJ song. You definitely did it justice my friend. I showed one of you vids to my guitar instructor Scott Morris, I'm a music student at Cal State Dominguez in Carson, CA. He loved it man, I'll send you a link of his trio

  • such a dirty intro!!

    you are the man, adam!

  • awesome awesome awesome!! maybe dirty diana sometime in the future?

  • I don't know who is better .... you or Michael !!!

  • as always. beautiful!

  • Another gem. Chord/melody (though that's a gross oversimplification of what you do) at its finest.

  • great job as always still mastering ur jackson 5 songs hope you can find a way to release ur michael jackson arrangements really interested in learning them!! and it seems that the bass is boosted here it fits well

  • to say that I really enjoy your music would be an incredible understatement, but I think more than anything I love watching how much you enjoy playing

  • holy crap unreal, kills every version even the mayer one, you really got a niche for the jackson songs!

  • speechless awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you use alternate tunings or do you arrange your music in standard tuning?

  • @MrAcoustick Mainly Standard! Thank you.

  • You get chords bass line everything by listening ?

  • @realjuvelive Yes, listening.

  • loving the groove Adam, that intro looks taxing!

    Nath

  • Wow, that was amazing. Beautiful groove, and the beginning..

    It blew me away :))

  • Adam..... that intro was sick.... great as always

    your feel just gets better

  • @BryanRason Well dude, other than the intro & outro (which are friggin hard especially with no nails!!!!) the rest of this is pretty easy! :-)

  • @crescentridge it would take me a while to get used to playing with no nails.... I did one song like that and I was having trouble hearing the melody..... the intro and outro sounds very unique..... the hard listening payed off......:)

  • dude you will truly be popular keep the style going,sweet-

  • Smoothest acoustic funk on the planet -- love the sound your getting out of those bass notes. Just amazing... don't know what else to say, except thanks as always for the inspiration.

  • How do you write your arrangements ?

  • @realjuvelive I don't write. I listen listen listen to the original!!!!

  • @crescentridge youre so familiar with the guitar.. i woulda slipped at least once doing that. do you practice the song over and over? or do you know the original song so well you can just have a general idea of the song and just wing the rest.

    im just amazed.

  • it really feels like MJ sings through your guitar

    Great!

    greetings jonny =)

  • Beautiful, you really got the feel of it out!

  • Fantastic my friend!!

  • how do you record palm muted bass that sound really phat like that? Or am I just overthinking it?

  • @DoublePenetration0 Probably a combo of really good technique and really good equipment.
