Gene Cernan was not in group 2 he was in class 3. Also the first Gemini 3 crew was to be Al Shepard and Tom Standford.. they got pulled after Al suffered a health issue that also caused Standford to be pulled from the mission.

To see the flag on the moon youd need an optical telescope with a lense diamiter of 4km! Infact the Hubble space telescope would only just be able to detect an object 90 meters in length on the surface of the moon so that wouldn't work either.

How do you explain the hundreds of photos, the millions who watched it on tv, the moon rock, the fact the dam rocket went into space, the hundreds of people who worked with the apollo programe, the experiments left on the moon that allow a laser beam fired from earth to be reflected back and therefore measure the distance between the two. just think about the number of people involved in such a conspiricy and not one of them comes out and says its a hoax. Nobody from the programme has yet.

Its an incrediba;y expensive thing going to the moon and the main reason NASA got the funding to go to the moon in the first place was so they can beat the russians there. After they did with apollo 11 there were major cutbacks as the didnt seam much reason to go back. Flights were canceled cause of funding cuts. The expense is why we never persisted and why there is no moon base

they almost failed because all the the guidence was off and they had barely enough fuel to land... at capcom they had a timer for the last minute of fuel... and it got down to 17seconds left of fuel before aborting

No. John Young would go on to fly SIX missions (two Geminis, two Apollos, two space shuttle missions). He later went into management and didn't retire from NASA until as recently as 2004!
