Alex saved not just his and Jeremy's life. Can you imagine what would have happened to the other horses and jockeys if he DID go down? Alex is the most underrated horse in the history of forever.
@ruffianrulz i know! he is BY FAR my favorite racehorse of all time :) it angers me how other ppl don't count him as one of the best racehorses of all time. i loved barbaro, but i think that after the 2006 derby, ppl forgot about alex and smarty and a lot of other good horses.
@jeremyrosefan Naaa i dont think they forgot about Smarty. If Alex hadnt gotten injured during training, he would have been horse of the century. He could have thrashed horses like Saint Liam, Invasor, Bernardini, and anything else that ran in his time. Including Barbaro. He wasnt as good as Alex on dirt. Turf is a whole other story.
Do any of you know Jeremy personally? Because I do and have since he was a little boy. He is the most gentle person you would ever want to meet. If he says it was an accident, it truly was. He spends alot of his earnings saving horses that are to be sent of to the dog food plant by putting them to pasture. If he didn't care for the animals why would he waste his money. I think it is unjust that one mistake makes him be classified as a horse abuser. He is far from that!!!!
I know that ok a typo thats not the point hes not a horse abuser got it okay anyone inexperienced that gets on a horse might whip a horse too much or in the face but it was ONCE not multiple times like you all are exagerating it to sound like he does it purposly and all the time ONCE is all he did it do you all that are saying that

I would not say Jeremy is a horse abuser. No one but him knows if it's and accident or not.So he might have a whip problem but it doesn't mean that he's a terrible person.But he should be much more careful next time he gets on a horse with a whip in hand.Still at least everyone that was involed with this is not hurt(very badly that is).
well maybe Jeremy did it on accident.... it could happen. the horse could have spooked, and when Jeremy could have been waving the whip past the horses head, to let the horse see it, the horse could have jerked her head over and the whip could have then gone in the eye by accident. just a thought....accidents happen.
im srry but almost no one thinks it could be an accident and i did see the arkansas derby and the belmont and Jeremy loves the horses. i saw a pix of him giving Ales a peppermint and kissing Alex on the nose. And an owner of a racehorse said that Jeremy makes ALL of is mounts personal.

There is no excuse for him to hit a horse in the face, almost making it lose an eye (I don't care if he didn't mean to hit her eye, he meant to hit her face!), and no excuse for excessively hitting a horse when he is clear by open lengths,.

I love Afleet Alex he was an excellent horse! What an athlete to get hit like that in the top of the stretch in the Preakness and still manage to come back and win.

yes, because hitting a horse in the FACE after the finish is clearly an accident.
He's had a history of over whipping horses. Just look at Afleet Alex's Ark. Derby and Belmont. Why he needed the whip, I do not know.

That does NOT mean he is exempt from being a horse abuser. He whips his horses way way WAY too much. Why was Alex whipped in the AK Derby and Belmont?
