the song writer was desperately fallen in love with a married man ,he was a legend ;the unwashed phenomenon;the original vagabond...she poured her heart out and wrote it....I dont know if she still loves bob,but yes I love this song dearly! Thanks for her vagueness....
I've loved this song for more than 40 years ! - Joan's version (but I just discovered and really like this one, too) is somehow a bit spooky - she wrote it and lived it ! You have to be old enough to remember ...... well, everything.
Chyi's version of this song is a little more magical than Joan Baez, a little less melodramatic than Blackmore's Night..
All of them are wonderful renditions in their own right..
Ultimately the greatest credit must go to Joan Baez as the creator of the song as it shows her depth and lyrical beauty as a legendary songwriter.
As for myself, I've always been the most captivated by Chyi's rendition as I am always immediately immersed in a magical realm of a story when listening to it..
Hi everyone, the song "Music of The Night" by Chyi Yu is now available on youtube for your enjoyment. Search for it. Enjoy ! PS Anyone has the song "Make No Mistake, He's Mine" by Chyi Yu and Michelle Pan ? I can't find it anywhere :(
I'd so love this song from the very first time I heard it, which was more than 20 years ago. The version sung by Joan Baez, the original singer and composer of this song, is well worth listening to if you haven't heard of hers before.
@rhq2008 You're right! I'm old enough to have heard Joan B perform this live, holding who was the love of my life [then] ... ahhh... nostalgia. Chyi does a wonderful job of this. Her voice has the same haunted quality found in both Joan Baez and Joan Collins.
Musicboxforever, want to inform you that the lyrics you provided are wrong. There are some missing and some extra stanza, and also the words for some parts are wrong. Please kindly update with the correct version.
