I bought the new album, at first I was a minor fan of Senses Fail. I only knew Wolves at the Door, Family Tradition, The Irony of Dying on your Birthday, and the Garden State. I was a bit skeptic at first but when I heard Lifeboats, The Fire, Headed West, and all the other songs, it turned me into a HUGE fan of Senses Fail! :D

In my opinion, 'Let it enfold you' and and 'Still searching' were their best albums. 'Life is not a waiting room' mostly has really good songs, but now they all sound pretty identical, screaming 'i suck' and 'i spend all my time wondering how this happened and how much i hate you'. i liked the creativity and variety they had earlier, more punk-ish songs with a few lines screamed rather than total screamo to a relaxing calmer song to 'shark attack' etc. And they all had varying riffs and sounds.

@happyperson125 Sure, the album stays somewhat consistent but now that I've gotten a taste for it, I think it's one of their best. It has an easily identifiable style, but so do all of their other albums. For example, From the Depth of Dreams has a dark hazy feel while Still Searching is more vibrant. This one has a punk rock energy to it. Don't be put off by screaming. You can't convey every emotion through gentle melodies. Plus, screaming doesn't change the genre. It's like adding distortion.

i just finished the album and, well, it's safe to say it's a step up from LINAWR, but I'm sorry, I miss LIEY and even still searching. I mean, bite to break skin was my favorite song for longer than I care to think about. this just seems like a nice, catchy, well-riffed song with a good hook as to please the fans for a while. good, but not entrancing. I like the optimism though, step forward.

and yes, I miss when the screams were entwined rather than laid off as a side note.

I've definitely noticed a trend in Senses Fail's lyrics. The early stuff had very disturbing lyrics, and later they switched to intensely depressing themes. When Life is not a Waiting Room came out I finally noticed pieces of optimism thrown in. I'm glad they continued with that trend. Some lyrics can be fairly depressing but also inspiring at the same time. I think Senses Fail has pulled that off.

@Clamfyre I never liked the old scream much. There are some singers who can pull off an awesome shrill scream. I don't consider Buddy to be one of them. He has perfected the growl though and he doesn't do it in that monotone way that a lot of band's do so it is really cool. I don't consider their sound to have changed all that much. Listen to the choruses. Plus, I thought the old lyrics were a bit immature. I just miss the guitar harmonies though.
