Let's set the record straight here...I not only composed all the guitar parts for "Rooms For The Memory" and "Win /Lose" both as a member of Whirlywirld...I played ALL the guitar parts on the "Dogs In Space" soundtrack pertaining to those 2 tracks.
They are amazing songs...given a great rendition by Michael Hutchence, what more to say
It really SHOULD say "...and Ollie Olsen"! I have my incredible memories of this and this time...but is Melbourne itself to be made but a memory? I hope not, and will do my best to see it doesn't!
this is such a great song! does anyone else, in the musical break, have the " ah, it's a pretty nasty business ton's went these gorillas come and knock down your door and drag all your personal effects out in the middle of the road" speech going through there head or is it just me!?
this is probabley one of my favorite michael hutchence songs ever, i just love it
i Had the Dogs in Space soundrack on Tape, but have long since lost it! I have the movie on VHS. Anyone know if the soundrack and movie are avalable on CD/DVD?
I paid $21 for mine from Australia. If you live in US you have to watch in on the computer. It won't play on regular DVD player. I didnt care. I wanted it!
Great song, great songwriter, great singer. Were the Max Q mob involved in the music for this song? Sounds a lot like the Max Q album he did with Ollie Olsen and co.
This was effectively the start of Max Q. Hutchence and Olsen met through their involvement with the film Dogs in Space. They always considered Max Q to be the continuation of these sessions.
I've never seen this movie, but Michael Hutchence voice was an incredible instrument of singular power. He wrote some very good, insightful lyrics, too. This song was no exception. How do I find a way to see the movie? I remember when it came out, it didn't exactly have a huge distribution in the U.S.
when he passed all I could do was play this song. RIP Michael and thanks for creating one of the most powerful songs ever!!!!
more people need to hear this song it is pure heaven.
thanks for sharing this. and speaking of which if you have not seen Dogs in Space see it as its an amazing walk down Melbourne's past history. Featuring old footage of Richmond streets & culture and clubs like Thumpin Tum
Just looked at this again. What an amazing song! Its a work of art-haunting,evocative, moving.Does anyone know who wrote it and can you still get the CD? Michael sure delivered it powerfully. It is awesome. More people should see and hear this and get a glimpse of what an artist he was.Thankyou for posting it.
The song is from the Australian 80's movie "Dogs In Space".The song 'Rooms For The Memory' is available on the soundtrack.Try Ebay to find someone selling it.
Michael was awesome in this.He looked great with those curls.I love it.Thanks for posting it. I've never seen it before or heard it. A hauntingly beautiful song. He'll always fill the rooms of our memories with his charismatic, mesmerising, powerful, sexy performances. We'll always remember you Michael and the enjoyment
This is the first song I listened to after I heard my beloved Michael died. He has been gone almost 10 years and I will always miss him. He is in my thoughts daily. Love and Peace to you Michael. God Bless little Tiger.
Michael looked amazing in the Dogs in Space movie, but as I recall it was a rather boring, overly long movie with hardly a trace of a plot. I watched it a hundred times because I worshipped Michael so much, though.
My sister was doing an assignment on Richard Lowenstein back when this was made. She blagged her way onto the set for the video shoot and got some amazing shots of Michael. Lowenstein even got them autographed for her later - they're her pride and joy.
Thanks for sharing this!! I haven't heard this since a movie he was in-gosh I forget the title! Can anyone recall the movie Michael was in? I was rather young but I LOVED this song! Michael was squatting or something with a bunch of people in the film and his girlfriend I think OD"d.
Awesome song from a greatly missed lead singer of a great Aussie band!
