  • I just ran out the door after my mom scolded me that was back in 1973 this song was playing. How do I remember that I don't know. Still great song.

  • SAYING THINGS IN CAPS IS COOL

  • this song reminds me of my childhood :D !!!

  • BJ Thomas was the special entertainment at our high school graduation class party in 1964. Nothing remarkable about his performance, but he was a nice guy.

  • THIS HIT TAKES ME BACK TO MY COLLEGE DAYS AND MY TIME IN MIAMI FLA. ON WFUN 790 AM

  • Very nice and catchy song :-)

  • "I'm high on believin', that you're inlove w/me"

Makes me grin, like a mule eatin' brier.

    I will .....

  • Classic!

  • Close my eyes and go back to when my friends were riding our bikes to the ballpark and have this on the transistor radio......

  • i love this song

  • ahhhh....that distinctive stinging guitar intro is the highlight of this song

  • this song has been stuck in my head for days i lov it thanks for posting

  • You're welcome, jewballs4445-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • @jewballs4445 ITS THE BEST EVER MADE .THE GREATEST THING SINCE 7 UP LOL!

  • @mamaluvify THE MUSIC NEVER GETS OLD!

  • My high-school "steady" and I used to listen to this entire album, "make out", and listen for her dad to walk down the hall so we could "straighten up" before he walked in to check everything out.....some terrific memories; I can't help but smile.

  • it reminds me elly mac beal!

  • However good the Blue Suede version was, the original is the best

  • Love this song from my youth!

  • Will always be one of my very favorite songs! It never gets old! Thanks so much for posting it!

  • You're very welcome, Drusymom-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • What a good memories...

  • What a unique set of vocals from B.J. Thomas, his signature sound is a timeless luxury to listen to!

  • Timeless... Love it!

  • I heard this song when I had my first "puppy love". Still gives me goosebunps.

  • What a melody. They don't make em like this anymore and they never will.

  • i really enjoy this song

  • I agree.

  • A little Rock an Roll hiostory. Billy JoeThomas and Billy joe Royal were both from texas and good friends. So when Billy Joe Royal hit the charts first , Bj Thomas didnt want to step on his name and have 2 Billy Joes out there, and took the name of BJThomas. The rest is history and a great song. F that OOKA CHooka crap

  • Love this version equally with Blue Suede's version, different, similar, and totally awesome both of them.

  • @80sjamming Me too.

  • Love this song. I like the electric sitar in this song....

  • megatonydeath,

  • I keep going «Ooka Chaka Ooka Chaka» on my mind when listening to this one

  • Original is best.

  • NO OOGA CHAGA INTRO? FINALLY

  • If you wanted to listen to that version, please look for other videos on YouTube.

    ...Otaku3

  • I don't think he wanted to listen to that version,

I think he prefers this version.

  • @60otaku3 i think he was saying good thing he finally found one without that intro...

  • @declique that ruins the song

  • @declique

That would be Blue Swede's version.

  • I love this song!

    B.J. Thomas rules

  • listened this when I was 15 (now 57). reminds me of sunny, summer, free days at a cabin on a lake..great memories that will never fade!!! k

  • Awesome song . My 11year old son is now learning this song .

  • I was a teenager in the '70's, so I heard the ooga chaka version on the radio all the time. This is definitely the original and it is FANTASTIC!

  • joaquinmurrieta1850,

Also I am not familiar with the 80's music.

    60otaku3

  • @60otaku3 Ok. Thanks for the help.

  • this song is awesome!

  • so much better then David Hasselhof's version

  • @PatrickLMT It's the power of suggestion!! When I was a kid, I read a book called "Media Sexploitation" that claimed that one of Blue Swede's background singers was singing "Who got sucked off?" while the rest sang "Ooga-Chuka". It also claimed that the ice cubes in liquor ads had mutilated faces airbrushed into them and that the word "sex" was subtly printed all over the surface of every Ritz cracker. The "power of suggestion" might have gotten the better of the author on that last one.

  • CLASSIC SONG.. Hooked on a feeling.. Well that is a good thing and a bad thing as well.. However i will say "I do Love This Song...

  • 60otaku3

    oh i see,thanks for good information(^^)

  • You're welcome, mabotarou-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • great! (^^) this version is better than original...

  • It is your misunderstanding.

This song performed by B. J. Thomas is the original version.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @60otaku3 no its not.but he does it much better...

  • todo una obra maestra

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this. I've been looking for a version everywhere without the annoying "ooga chaga". This is beautiful!

  • You're very welcome, luv60smusic-san!!

  • Hello from Mexico city ,i really like this song the accent ,song and music is very easy to enjoy and understand i like.

  • This music is like fine wine, it gets better with age. It's funny because the songs from this generation had emotion, meaning and you can actually understand the lyrics. Thank you!!!

  • You're welcome, privone2001-san!!

  • un himno esa cancion :) saludos a todos

  • this song is one of those that touchs your heart :)

  • My sources say Reggie Young played the electric sitar on Hooked on a Feeling.

  • thumbs up if you came here after watching the ooga chaga version

  • really neat song!

  • This song is the perfect song to point to when people talk about how over-produced music is today. Music was over-produced in the 1960's too, but look at the talent and the care that was taken then to come up with the entire package. It wasn't all about Simon Scowl thinking he could anticipate public taste and put out crappola.

  • Yes much better without the ooga chaga. Blue Swede should have been shot for what they did to this song.

  • haven't heard this song in years <3

  • Without the Ooga Chaka this is just an ordinary love song like any other.

  • OOPS,,It was Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head that was done in one take.Sorry.

  • This song, recorded in Houston, was done in one take!

  • @1969alias I read where it was recorded at Studio One in Doraville, GA. I didn't know it was recorded in Houston. I'd like to know who the musicians were- most importantly, who played guitar. I always liked that 'sitar' sounding guitar. Cool stuff.

  • I'm a teenager again, riding in a '56 pickup truck on dirt roads with my cousins with this playing on the radio turned up loud and us singing to the top of our lungs!!! Not a care in the world, free, and on top of the world....and didn't even realize it.

  • @Jebbi1956 Yea I remember stuff like that too. I would go back in a heart beat if I could. Life now is no where near what it was, hard to explain to those who did not live it but it was.

  • thanks for posting

  • You're welcome, deadmanrisingdx-san!!

  • Happy Birthday, BJ... August 7

  • @AOS1738 You said it!! One of my all time favs! Brings back many memories from the good old days at Little Creek Amphib Base in NOrfolk, Va with all my Frogmen and Seal team Buddies. Those were the days.

  • @301emmie ONE THING ABOUT HOOK ON A FEEL AND EYES OF A NEW YORK WOMEN, ONE COULD SING ALONG WITH THEM. GOOD VOICE-BAD VOICE IT DIDN'T MATTER THEY BOTH WERE ENJOYABLE SONGS. I TO HAVE MEMORIES BACK THAN, BEING A JR. IN HIGH SCHOOL AND MY FIRST JOB.

  • Un cansion q t cala asta Los huesos muy buena!!!

  • A clear classic.

  • OOGA CHAKA!!

Seriously does any one know why Hasselhoff added that to his Cover of this Song???

  • hey...i smoked DMT to this

  • What is the meaning of "DMT"??

    ...Otaku3

  • @60otaku3 LSD or magic Mushrooms

  • Thank you for the explanation, BestLion75-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • @BestLion75 DMT = Dimethyltryptamine. It is not LSD or magic mushrooms although they are somewhat related in that they are psychedelic in effect.

A bit of advice: Treat DMT with respect, it is strong stuff!

  • Oh...thank you for explanation, UnarianSpaceCadet-san!!

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @UnarianSpaceCadet

DMT is the active ingredient in hallucinogenics. Mushrooms, LSD, or the root drug they make a brew with in Peru all has DMT. BTW DMT is not all bad. the man who discovered DNA was in a trance while on LSD and discovered the double helix.

  • @BestLion75

Um... Wrong. Watson and Crick "discovered" DNA by stealing their data from Rosalind Franklin

  • @UnarianSpaceCadet Oh yeah ... real strong stuff. LSD is strong, but this stuff is unnerving. Careful.

  • @BestLion75 i don't remember calling anything dmt back then, but maybe it's something like angle dust?

  • @g4ngzta420 what the hell is dmt?? sounds like it's something under your kitchen sink!

  • @m1kewithaone look it up, dmt is already in your brain, smoking it has no negaitive side effects

  • @g4ngzta420 oh... ! ok. is it legal?? lol

  • @m1kewithaone no, its a felony

  • @g4ngzta420 figures...

  • This is so much better without the "hooka-chukka" that got added in the 1990s.

  • @djrootmusic actually it was in 1971 by jonathan king that originally added the ooga-chaka you are refering to

  • The memories of this song...my freshman year in high school...basketball season and we had a winning team with Coach Beemer! we on lost 2 games and back then only the top team went to the state playoffs! that sucked

  • No Ooga Chaka? That's a paddlin'.

  • Love it! Been hooked on a feeling with my beloved husband of 23 years :-)

  • Comment removed

  • This song came out when I was 8 years old but I remember loving it even as a young girl...guess it was the music and not so much the lyrics back then. But now appreciate the lyrics... = )

  • this song is great !

  • 60otaku3 Thank you for sharing so fantastic music...

  • You're welcome, southamerican888-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^_^)b

  • BJ is one of my all time favorites they dont make music like this anymore

  • Wow, what a beautiful tenor voice. How come they don't sing raw like this on records these days? All I hear is synthetic nonsense. It's grotesque

  • definately 1 of my favorite songs ever

  • So much nicer without the ooga chaga.

  • @JermzzzyFTW Definitely, I always thought , "what the hecks up with that?!"

  • @JermzzzyFTW

"much nicer without the ooga chaga" I couldn't agree more.

When I've played the ooga chaga version I used to feel a degree of embarrassment in case someone heard me listening to that childish meaningless chant that detracted from the song.

  • @bobcooper31

Agree 100%. I alway thought that that "ooga" stuff was stupid.

  • @JermzzzyFTW I personally like Blue Swede's version better. *shrugs*

  • @AlT70 That's right, forgot about that one.

  • blow job thomas

  • I love the sitar intro and riff, classic!!!!

  • One of the early pop songs where they featured the Sitar.
