  • time of reloading between Rifle and Musket? if i rember one of the reason of the preference in the 18th century for the musket it was a less time for reload than rifle -

  • I actually would use a bow or a crossbow...

  • brown bess is a trash in accuracy !

  • So they thought it was a good idea to put 3 muskets against 1 rifle and the rifle had to win or they pretty much called it shit? Not a very good match up.

  • now try it whilst being shot at

  • kentucky long rifle is like first sniper rifle.

  • it is hard to believe that weapons like those did so much damage and had such great effect on wars past compared to weapons today.

  • @DRussellNCAA thats why the soldiers that had to use muskets back then had to line up next to each other and shoot at the enemies. It'd be kind of like a really big shotgun.

  • @DRussellNCAA did anyone see at 1:11, only a single pellet came out, isn't a musket suppose to shoot several pellets?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx No, muskets fired a single ball. You might be thinking of the blunderbuss, a predecessor to the modern shotgun.

  • @NUSensei i'm pretty sure it's the musket that i saw in a history documentary, where they said that the americans won the civil war with muskets cause they shot many pellets

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx That doesn't make sense. Muskets shoot balls, not pellets. And, well, the Americans kind of fought themselves in the Civil War, so I'm not sure how to verify that :P

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Although, you may be referring to the buck-and-ball loading, which was indeed used in the Civil War. Troops loaded both a musket ball and buckshot for a wider area of effect.

  • @NUSensei Maybe it wasn't the civil war, but the marines used won thanks to the wide spread shots from their muskets, when going ship to ship battles :)

  • @DRussellNCAA One of the major reasons for the musket's carnage was because the ammunition used is not like today's. Modern bullets deliver relatively clean puncture wounds, whereas the old musket balls were much larger and due to manufacturing impurities would often splinter when shot. Getting hit by one resulted in arteries being cut and bones being shattered.

  • Can I watch "Triggers" anywhere in the internet?

  • course if you never make it to the target that musket is no good.

  • that why they invented the shotgun

  • @leomantles thats why they invented spellcheck

  • 6th!
