The simplest thing would be that house management have security on hand at all times for this VERY thing -- and if your phone rings, they come to your seat and they eject you AND EVERYONE IN YOUR PARTY, from the theater, PERIOD. No refund, no raincheck, no nothing. The signs are posted, the announcements are made -- there is NO REASON for that phone to ring, jingle, buzz, light up, etc. And if it does, OUT YOU GO ON YOUR ASS. Plain and simple.

@mccplaymakers It's LuPone. And taking a picture with the flash on is horrendously distracting to the actors and can really mess them up, especially during a climactic moment of the show. This isn't like a movie. You don't just have to be conscious of annoying other patrons.
