  • wow the wii version is awful

  • Got this game today. Nice.

  • What a disgrace to Anno

    Get the Pc version, noobs

  • This game looks boring

  • @bilingbling1 It's not for tards, so you probably wouldn't like it.

  • Wow. It looks so different than the PC version.

  • Oh my god this is 1602 A.D.

  • I'm sure this game would be fun if I wasn't colorblind...all the house colors look pretty much the same to me...oh well, at least I didn't waste my money on it.

  • @TheWorldinProgress Before the battle, he takes your metropolis and multiple other islands. You will have to worry about taxes later. First, get alot of battleships and a shit load of soldiers. Then use the map to attack any islands with a purple shields.

  • @LauxHawk

Can you tell me how I can get the option to build a well?

  • does anyone know how to beat the princes brother in the last level??? Please help!

  • Huh, why is it all cartoony on the Wii? the PC version is very realistic looking

  • @lolenterprise Yeah, but nintendo also has to attract kids for their games...

  • Did anyone else fuck their girlfriends while playing it??

  • @MrGrevy

yeaaaahh!! i fucked your girlfriend too!!! I wasn't playing the game though....sooo...yeah

  • @Knyghtrida Well I just beat the crap out of her for that...but she claims she didn't sleep with anyone. Lol what a lying bitch!

  • wow this game looks so gay on the wii.

  • the pc vesion is much better

  • I love this game so much. I don't know why these games entertain me, since I can get bored of simulation games like the Sims very fast, but these games are amazing. I'm currently at where you have to build your first level 3 society so that you can get the water pump.

  • @Ryanmiller70 It has a unique play style. It's not like your typical PC sim. The Wii platform makes the atmosphere more relaxed, but then again, it can get pretty intense as well. Good game. My friends laugh every time they see this video, but hey, it's a damn good game. I guess the artistic style and "kiddish" is a bit deceiving. I doubt any "kid" could accomplish much in this game, because it's pretty complex deep down. There's more than what meets the eye.

  • @LauxHawk And kids most likely won't have the patience for this kind of game. There's a lot of moments I've caught myself just sitting and waiting for my gold or materials to go up. I love these games. When I first got the game, the art style through me off, and the way they tell the story through non-moving pictures made me not want to play it. But, yesterday, I dug the game out and resumed playing it.

  • can you do a video on armies on this game so i can see how it looks like

  • @DualShardScorpion Sold my Wii sorry.

  • can you attack anything?

  • @DualShardScorpion Yes. Certain buildings can hold troops and can be attacked. The more troops you put in the building, the greater the chance of winning the battled. Once all of the buildings that are capable of being attacked are taken over, the player looses. (Either the computer or you, depending on who wins/looses).

  • free play?

  • any online connectivity?

  • @DualShardScorpion No, there is no online.=/. What do you mean by Free play?

  • @LauxHawk freeplay like if you dont want to do campaign then just play for fun

  • @DualShardScorpion Yes, of course. It's called Continuous Play.

  • what game is better, anno create a new world or dawn of discovery. does it matter what your profile character is ex. king goerge, smelly joe etc.?

  • What about combat, how does that work?

  • @itzshowtime86 Combat is very basic. Almost too basic, but its pretty good in that manner. You build troops in your Barracks. The amount you can build at a time depends on how much you have upgraded the barracks. Then you can put them in all of the "trade-buildings" (marketplaces, ports, barracks, shipyards etc). Or you can build battleships in the shipyards and put troops on the ships and attack the other civilizations. However, all you do is send in your troops it will simulate a conflict.

  • this game made me hate the word troops

  • It's funny because the PC version looks incredible detailed, and the wii version looks like everything was made from Lego blocks.

  • @yiany Well they are based off a central concept but really are two completely different games. I can vouch for both games.

  • LOL look at the graphics. This is hilarious.

  • @yiany What's so funny?

  • i broke my hand recently, and this game is my saving grace. saves me from complete boredom

  • Ha! Yeah its pretty capable of doing that.

  • lol. what kind of graphics are these?

  • @nfguler Amazing ones.

  • @LauxHawk Compared to pc version. Yeah it is really amazing

  • I think I'm stuck on level 7 or 8. When the sultan gets kidnap. And I have to fight with the corsairs and I can't bet them cause there sooo many of them so I can't bring back the sultan. *sigh* any advice?

  • Didn't know barracks had anything to do with trade.

  • @bishschannel Well its involved with foreign affairs and Barracks train soldiers that can man Warehouses and Marketplaces.

  • i love this game (diseasters too mutch)

  • @bovb902 Yeah I usually put them on low or off.

  • Is this game from wiiware?

  • @zeldamastertp No this is a regular game but it is much cheaper than regular games. You can get it for about $25 new. $10-15 Used.

  • Is this from wiiware?

  • this game suks

  • @gecodo You spelt sucks wrong.

  • @LauxHawk and?

  • Damn i love Dawn of Discovery but my laptop can handle it on lowest settings, and it will go really slow when i advance to the Patricians. I might get this to fill my addiction until i buy a high end PC in a few months :P

  • @Eurostar3x Haha yeah. Same. I got this before i got my PC and I like them both equally although the PC version is much more nice looking.

  • incredibly crappy graphics

  • lololololololololol

  • i like the smooth graphics but not only the graphics

  • @Himencrash The graphics aren't bad. They are a little jagged in some places but otherwise, it looks quite nice. The ocean is quite beautiful. Sorry my video quality is so mediocre. Working on better quality with future videos.

  • @LauxHawk I didn't mean the graphics are bad :)

  • @Himencrash No I understood you. I was agreeing. =)

  • @LauxHawk okay :D

  • omg it looks fail compared to the PC version :P

  • @LordDivine1 It's more casual which is isn't bad because as Ortheos2006 said below, the PC version does get quite overwhelming when you start advancing. HOWEVER, you can make the Wii version as overwhelming as you want...don't get deceived that it is easy.

  • LMAO! this looks hilarious compared to the PC version. :)

  • This is a simplified version of the pc game, and it is done very well. Sometimes the pc game gets overwhelming and one goes back to this just to relax.

  • can you make a walkthrough on chapter 7 part 2

  • @alliancemastery If I ever get to it....maybe

  • looool the Wii version looks like a cartoony kids game compared to the pc version

  • pc version is better

  • @Depolt3 Both have their advantages. I prefer PC for its graphics and in depthness.

  • i've been looking at this game but it was just way to expensive for PC but this looks really cool on the wii i have to get it.

  • I do recommend the PC version as well, but you will need a very good PC in order to run it well. I can play it on medium-high settings with a custom built quad core, 4GB DDR3, and an ATi 4650.

The Wii version is also not bad and I think it runs at about $25 nowadays. I recently visited Gamestop where I bought it from, (In the USA), and they no longer carried it. So, you might have to order online or check other retailers.

    =)

  • i live in the US and i bought the wii version at gamestop today, i was really impressed with it but disapointed it has the exact same storyline as the other versions(mainly the cutscenes and dialog) i thought maybe they could change it up a little.

  • I should be able to run this decently with my dual core 4gig of ram and gts 250 hopefully. Why is the PC version so expensive? 49 on steam :(

  • @screwopenborders The PC version is COMPLETELY different than the Wii's version. It is a very hardware intenseive game, but it will be no problem for a Nvidia GTS 250 and and good proc.

  • Yeah it does look a lot different. But I think its a good investment since I don't play WoW anymore and that style of game bores me now. I was able to run WoW on full settings and only lagged a little or in the major cities. I need a break from people especially the people on WoW so I'm going with single player. lol

  • Hi! I have the same game as you!And I saw the part where you had to find a sea chart to find Herbs on a island and i am stuck on that one cause i dont know how to find a sea charts and i have to level the people up to Citizens! And i need to find an island that can grow Herbs but i need to unlock a sea chart so please help me!!

  • @Meomonkey Ah its been such a long time since I played this. (Been on my PC lately)...but if I do recall, I believe you get a Sea Chart after helping the guy from the Orient. I think you have to recover the cargo from his ships and return it to him. His rewards, I think, is that sea chart. Good Luck.

  • Im at the same level as you

  • So do you need to beat story to play free play? Also what is the free play like??

  • Nope...you do not have to beat anything if you do not want to. If you just want to play free play, you can do just that. Free play is essentially what its name suggests. You can do anything you want. Go anywhere you want, attack whoever you want, with no goal in mind. =O

  • how do u save the game? answer as soon as u can

  • go into the menu, ( + or - i dont know ), there should be a save icon.

  • You hit the 1 or 2 button I believe. + or - zooms you in or out. Then you choose your save block.

  • @Cyber5Fan ... how interesting, i thought even toddlers said "please" and "thank you". I guess you proved me wrong.

  • @myrtilusgames LOL. Good Point. I don't mind.

  • I understand and i have been dificult problems to find this game in Portugal because i live in Portugal.

  • ahhh.....too bad.

  • For what i see this game is awesome and you should put more videos !!!!!!! xD

  • Thanks. I would put more on...its just I do not have a very easy means of getting videos on Youtube. It takes too long, and I have very little time.

  • awesome game, I really think the coop thing is gonna be awesome. THANKD FOR THAT GAMEPLAY

  • The Co-Op is terrible IMHO.

  • Looks awesome, definitely gotta pick this one up once I finish up with Little King's Story

  • Once you figure out the concept and the mechanics, it can become highly addictive, and fun.

  • This looks nice =), but i think that'll get it for pc ;D

  • I am planning on getting it for PC too. Just built a new PC and its fairly powerful so it should have no problem running it. If you have Wii, it is a nice way to play a Sim game without having to get all into it. =)

  • This looks so cool! Like a combination of Sim City, Civilization, and Pirates. Ah, now Civilization and Pirates Gold on the Wii would be really terrific.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I find myself relying on Youtube for videogames coverage, especially games that are not big-name franchises.

  • No Problem. =)

  • Nice cartoony look, like Im watching 3D Asterix and Obelix! :)

  • Never heard of that game, but looked it up. Looks nice!

  • This game is my favorite city-builder on a console. I love watching my settlers upgrade to aristocrats; i love watching my citizens walk around; i love watching workers transport goods; i love zooming all the way out to see what my city looks like from the heavens. Absolutely a beautiful game! There should be more games like this on consoles instead of those dam violent fps games that dominate the market. I love games like these because i don't have to worry about getting killed every 5 seconds.

  • Haha this is true. It seems like every game that gets hype lately are insanely violent. This isn't to say they are "bad" games, but its not exactly the best thing to do. I remember when sims/civs dominated the market. When are computers were so weak that that was all we could handle....=P Most definitely on of my fav games. Haven't played it in a while (Got a couple new games for Wii.) Should have gameplays up soon..

  • Im glad you agree with me. the sims/civs games are still fun. Have you completed the campaign in Dawn of Discovery? im totally into the continuous play mode.

  • No, I got bored of the Campaign. =/. It isn't bad, but its cooler to do completely what you want, instead of having to follow guidlines and goals of someone else.

  • should i get this for the ds or wii?

  • I can't speak for the DS, as I do not own one, but I heard that it is also a good game. The Wii version is only $25-30 regular price, so I would say go for the Wii version.

  • get it for wii. The details for the wii version outnumber the details for the ds. For instance, on the wii version, there is more room to build; as a result, bigger cities can be built. However on the ds, the maps are small. Also, its hard to see the buildings and citizens cuz of the screen size of the ds.

  • Good Point.

  • The cartoon style looks pretty nice. It reminds me of something else...but I can't quite put the finger on it.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe a combo of Civilization, Warcraft III, and Animal Crossing?

    =O

  • virtual villagers?

  • is it online?

  • No it is not. There is no multiplayer in the game, but it works fine that way.

  • Is that AI good enough to keep me challenged for a while?

  • Well...its not really really combat based....but they aren't stupid and they will expand and take the whole map in minutes, so you need to get your priorities straight when you start a game.

Story Mode wise, it is similar, except there is more of a drive to to....a goal that needs to be achieved so that would probably keep you interested.

It's a cheap game, relative to others, got it for $30 at launch from Gamestop. =)

  • I really want to buy this game

  • Yeah its like civilization. Pretty fun.

  • This game is soo much fun. I agree that the PC graphics are better; but the gameplay on the wii is better.

  • pc has way better graphics

  • Well PC is really just a different game, but sharing the same name. Your right I cannot say they are the best I have ever seen from a Wii game, but its the Nintnedo look they are going for.
