Guys, when you hear 100+ of the same song's remixes, you kinda get bored of having same melody over and over again :/. Japanese definition of the word "Arrange" in the music (not sure if it's the same in English) is to remake the whole song however you want to. And Shibayan decided to make it this way.

You guys can bitch and moan all you want, but I absolutely LOVE when arrangers take a melody and make it their own, so to speak. I'd much rather hear someone put all sorts of creative and original twists while only loosely keeping the base track than an arrangement that just takes the original melody and copies it verbatim.

This track is freaking brilliant. Sorry if it's not your guys' cup of tea, but I loved this, start to end, U.N. Owen or not.

The idiosyncrasies that make up what is or isn't an arrange are irrelevant with what XDTOXD is doing with these videos.

I'll say that it's unique in a way only Shibayan would do. The subtle climax of the song really gives off that short but sweet movie trailer vibe.

I like, and that's all that matters! If you respond to someone's comment in disagreement about how the song was constructed you are missing the point of being subscribed to XDTOXD.

Another great production from XDTOXD... But, might I add, I believe this was an U.N. Owen Was Her-influenced piece. This involved too little of Flandre's theme in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, though, this is going straight on my iPod once I have the time.

@ElegantEnvy Yes, but, I don't believe you understand what I meant. In my opinion, an arrangement of a song should not be a completely different tune with a hint of the original here and there. Arrangements are intended to be a reworked or rewritten version of the same song; the framework and structure from the final product resemble the original. To me, this isn't remotely close to ZUN's song--it's not even in a similar key. 3:59 is the only part I recognize from Flandre's theme.

@Cirnobyl Well, at a certain point, you could make it your own song.

But in case you didn't notice, there's more than just U.N. Owen in there, (e.g. 2:00 until ~2:30 follows "Cosmic Mind" quite closely) meaning it's an arrange of multiple songs.

Alas, you can still call it an arrange if it doesn't sound all too close to the original at all, and I sometimes find that more than appropriate for an arrange. It's part of why Touhou remixes don't get boring.

@Cirnobyl The opening chords progression is the same as the "Chorus" part of Flandre's theme. At 1.00 the rhythm is based on the intro to U.N.

The part starting at 2:29 is the post-chorus rhythm, 3:30 or so the original chord progression again, followed by the obvious link at 3.59

I mean, yes i also find the link weak, but it IS there if you listen :)
