This song actually got me into Bruce....I always loved his radio stuff but had never listened to any album. Anyway I was in a record shop one day and picked up Asbury Park from a discount bin...flipped it over and saw 'Blinded by the Light' was on it. I bought it there and then because I loved the M.Mann version. Been into Bruce ever since.
Now I understand why MMann made it a hit, not Sprinsteen...sorry Bruce, some people were made to sing other peoples music. E-street was plenty funky, but Bruce just didn't have the right tone to make it a hit
@tb8202 Manfred Mann made a pretty good bit of change making remakes of Springsteen and Dylan songs. The band did a good job with them and certainly added to them, but most Manfred Mann hits came from Springsteen or Dylan.
most of brucies tracks live are better then the studio ! take the hammersmith 75 for example every track is just soo much better than the studio .when the live tracks are bertter than the studio it shows a true artist !
@2AmyLongoria it would be the best...because he wrote and recorded it first...people dont seem to know that this song is springsteens not the mann band

For everyone who doesn't care for the intro, 4:45 takes you to the start of the actual song
