I have lived in Singapore and have seen the Thipusam ritual in person, it is an amazing thing to witness, and your performance is beautiful. I'm amazed at how you can dance with those piercings in place, butno less amazing is what the men who undergo Thipusam endure. They fast for a month before the ritual, and then have head-dresses which are extremely heavy and involve sometimes hundreds of piercings. Thanks for sharing this video.

I don't understand how nose and belly piercings are ok and this is not . . . people don't make sense. This is art and it is heavenly and you were fantastic. I'll never understand how performing with pierced wings is controversial. I read in an article somewhere that people were bad mouthing this performance. Isn't dance, like any other art form, about creativity and expression? Honestly, and simply put I think the people obsessed with "controversy" are jealous.
This is an amazing performance, Sashi, you are an amazing dancer. I hope one day I can be as good as you are. Keep it up, you're an inspiration!
yes, apparently there was controversy... which i knew nothing about when i saw the first short clip of this piece, and like others was totally mesmerized by Sashi's performance, and the concept, and creativity in such an extreme measure.
Epic WoW on the entire performance, phenomenal. as always.
