  • never heard this song

  • Totally Awesome. I love this!!!

  • @Lisaann11

    never heard this one!

  • We're listening to late 50's early very early 60's recording here. It how " real " music sounds. More than likely done on 4 tracks.

  • Great blues voice.I wish they'd lose the sax and some of the backing vocals.Great song.

  • Let;s be honest, this man would have earned tens of millions only by his looks nowadays. He surelly was blessed ! ....... and he diserved it !

  • My heart just melts everytime I hear his gorgeous voice, he was truly something special I wish I was alive when he was im such a huge fan! <3

  • FANTASTIC WHAT A TIME WOW TO BAD ITS OVER

  • I'd love to hear this without the sax and backing vocals, just pure blues Elvis. His voice was quite fantastic in the early sixties.

  • Close your eyes and listen to Elvis singing and that great Blues sound Thanks Jackie

  • close your eyes and listen to Elvis singing and that music ....Great number

  • I love Brandon Layne

  • Rock , pop , ballad , gospel , ------- if its Presley singing them , then i love them ALL !! Damn ,, Im even partial to Song of the shrimp !!! . IMO , ALL the Elvis songs that the radio media NEVER play , sure beats the hell out of his [ OBVIOUS ]] songs , that they ALWAYS play !!! .

  • Why is he mixed down? The chorus is great but practically drowns him out at times. Weird. A remix would be interesting in that regard, but his voice isn't exactly at its most resonant on this number. Maybe that's the reason that it's the way it is.

  • Is that Boots Randolph on sax

  • proof that a god did walk among us

  • Greatest of all, i said all times...

  • He was so sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!By DEBBY JORDAN

  • without doubt the greatest singer ever

  • Elvis, the bluesman !!!!!!

  • Like A Baby, and Reconsider Baby both on Elvis Is Back ! LP, IMO, are 2 of the best pieces he ever recorded. It was the last we saw of the beautiful, raw Elvis blues sound, especially Reconsider Baby, truly sensual (in a lovely way) ! .... before the Colonel smothered him and pressured him into the travelogue movies, because Elvis HAD to be the top billed and single focus of the "movie,". He cld've auditioned for a part as one of the sons in The Rainmaker w/Burt Lancaster, Kate Hepburn.

  • Damn I have great taste of music ;)

  • One of my favorites of Elvis and awsome sax !!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song!!

    thanks for sharing.

  • so sexy, love this song, love him so much! great video! <3

  • The pic at 1:50 was not staged. It was taken by photographer Alfred Wertheimer, along with others taken with the same women in same stairwell.

“I saw him in the fire stairwell of the theater, with a young woman, maybe 22 or 23 years old ...Anyway, he was being playful with her and clearly eager to kiss her. I debated whether to stay or not, but I realized I was a journalist and I was there to record what he was doing."

  • 1:52 "The day I found how you lied....then I broke down and cried...like a baby...."

    ohhhhh baby

  • "Blues, country, pop, rock and roll, gospel, and beyond, this man could sing anything. From the rockabilly of the Sun Sessions, to the MOR of "Wooden Heart", to the later day "Burnin' Love", Elvis proved that he had the skills as a vocalist that few have or will ever have."

    --Rob Jones, Canadian musicologist

  • never heard a sexier song in my life...

  • Amazing!

  • elvis was contracted to sing the movie songs.. yet he shoud have stuck to this type of material.

  • To lovers ways I was blind cause I just had a mind like a baby.

  • yeah, yeah, one more time, baby, yeah

  • So true! Elvis sang Blues, Rock, country, gospel and was successful in each. He could do no wrong. Noone in my eyes could touch him.

  • Wow... I am definitely not an Elvis fan, but this one is a KILLER! No schmaltzy, movie crap here - this one is definitely goes back to his R&B roots.

  • no one but ELVIS

  • This is my first time hearing this....WOW! Thank you Elvis.

  • just proves what I always thought elvis was a great blues singer lost amongst his pop tunes

  • My girlfriend's favourite Elvis song. A classic I must say! Blues at its rockin' finest! Boots Randolph kills it here! Wish there were more Elvis Blues tracks cause I know he didn't release that many. Rock on!

  • I got 'Elvis sings the Blues' on vinyl when it came out, it was probably around 1984 and this was my immediate favorite! Very bluesy, Elvis at his best and great Sax !

  • The guy playing the sax was Boots Randolph.A very famous musician...

  • This is one of his greatest and most underrated songs.

  • Elvis Is Back ! is a great album from the first tune to the last.

  • Your right it is a great album BUT I wont be listening to my mint condition copy anymore....my lab puppy ate it last week!~ I am just sick about it.!!

  • Weird title for song

  • This song is so sexy.......no one but ELVIS could have done it justice. He is and will always be the best. He was truly "One Of A Kind". I love ELVIS.............

  • why black velvet?

    where does it come from?

  • his black hair; his velvety voice; etc.

  • i cant belive they never play songs like this on the radio they never play elvis lesser known songs

  • I can so see him singing this song and swaying the way always did......sexiest man on earth and in heaven! Jackie you out did yourself again, thanks

  • oh>>>yeah>>>

  • great blues song.... another proof that elvis is not only the king of rock 'n roll, but the king of music....

  • Welcome back, heard it I'm blown away

  • Written by Jesse Stone. Elvis recorded it April 3, 1960 at RCAs Nashville studios. It is available on Elvis is Back, Return of the Rocker, Collectors Gold, From Nashville to Memphis-The Essential 60s Masters, and Artist of the Century, which is where this version is from.

  • Welcome back to youtube Jackie. I've always admired this blues song a lot. Elvis is the only individual who I've ever heard sing it. It was so great seeing this video again. Thanks a lot for re-uploading it. All of your Elvis videos are absolutely perfect. 10 Stars
