Why is he mixed down? The chorus is great but practically drowns him out at times. Weird. A remix would be interesting in that regard, but his voice isn't exactly at its most resonant on this number. Maybe that's the reason that it's the way it is.

Like A Baby, and Reconsider Baby both on Elvis Is Back ! LP, IMO, are 2 of the best pieces he ever recorded. It was the last we saw of the beautiful, raw Elvis blues sound, especially Reconsider Baby, truly sensual (in a lovely way) ! .... before the Colonel smothered him and pressured him into the travelogue movies, because Elvis HAD to be the top billed and single focus of the "movie,". He cld've auditioned for a part as one of the sons in The Rainmaker w/Burt Lancaster, Kate Hepburn.
