I have fibromyalgia, early signs of arthritis in my lower back, an autoimmune disease, depression, ADHD, and hypogonadism. All this is confirmed from doctors. I am male, and my mother takes very good care of me to make sure I get the treatments I need. For some reason I can't take any ADHD medicine because it makes me very depressed for some reason.

I've noticed this disparity for years and have always spoken out about it, but I always felt like a lone voice. It's good see that there ARE male rights groups and activists out there working for us. It's time men of Western societies join together and put pressure on our governments and all the organizations out there who treat men unequally to either change, or face the consequences. Fifty years ago if a man got prostate cancer he only had a 2 in10 chance of surviving past 5 years after being diagnosed,the same chance as a female with breast cancer way back then.
Fifty years on,thankfully women now have a 7 in 10 chance of making it past the 5 year barrier,but incredibly mens' survival rates for prostate cancer are still what they were fifty years ago,due to pernicious funding and medical research.........it's hard to comprehend.

I have a bunch of degrees, professional diplomas and certificates. However, I am not particularly handy and that makes me ashamed. I often think its because of the physically visible effects of breast cancer that most women worry about it most of all. I have to point out that the word "patriarchy" can apply to those men who hold back other men because they were brought up in a patriarchal society that is staffed by mostly men who make the decisions for their "sons." Those decisions have made it illegal to cut female genitalia, but not so for boys, and made it legal to kill them in wars as well. Men will make jokes about their bodies because the patriarchy taught them to ignore themselves, which leads to the poor awareness of men's health.

I have not researched enough into different drugs and comparisons to street drugs etc, to have a proper opinion on it.

on the issue of free condoms, my sister asked me to go into the local family planning clinic and get her some, because her and her husband had run out.

Women-only scholarships, work programs, businesses, anti-violence campaigns. Women have more freedom and options from clothing to sex to hobbies, to lifestyle choices. Women don't have the responsibilities of being strong and silent. Yet, in the year 2011, I am STILL hearing people talking about how this is a "mans world" and talking about "male privilege".

I've noticed this disparity for years and have always spoken out about it, but I always felt like a lone voice. It's good see that there ARE male rights groups and activists out there working for us. It's time men of Western societies join together and put pressure on our governments and all the organizations out there who treat men unequally to either change, or face the consequences. Fifty years ago if a man got prostate cancer he only had a 2 in10 chance of surviving past 5 years after being diagnosed,the same chance as a female with breast cancer way back then.
Fifty years on,thankfully women now have a 7 in 10 chance of making it past the 5 year barrier,but incredibly mens' survival rates for prostate cancer are still what they were fifty years ago,due to pernicious funding and medical research.........it's hard to comprehend.

I have to point out that the word "patriarchy" can apply to those men who hold back other men because they were brought up in a patriarchal society that is staffed by mostly men who make the decisions for their "sons." Those decisions have made it illegal to cut female genitalia, but not so for boys, and made it legal to kill them in wars as well. Men will make jokes about their bodies because the patriarchy taught them to ignore themselves, which leads to the poor awareness of men's health.

There is no expectation that women DO anything except perhaps develop a sense of honor and understanding of how they are used, and perhaps even a semblance of contrition for their role in the ongoing destruction of society.

Also just think it is MEN who make all these medical break throughs in treating breast cancer and cervical cancer. I can almost guarentee you that when i woman goes for life saving cancer treatment or surgery it will be a MAN who saves her life.

@dafty97 - well then perhaps we should give women a better education in future, and a better chance of getting a place at medical school. And perhaps we could have more young men staying at home caring for and nursing elderly relatives and young children for free and then we can sort that little problem of imbalance out. And by the way - we have Madame Curie to thank for radium. I believe she was a woman.

@manwomanmyth She discovered radium but never understood it and eventually died of radiation poisoning. She thought it had health benefits and couldnt grasp the danger of it during all her research. And yes she is one of only few women to contribute to science, medicine and technology. Women contributed much more before feminism, but now they have no incentive to becaus everything is handed to them on a plate. They get all the rewards with out doing the work. Sad really.

@Grace3753 Women do enter medical school at a higher rate than men, but few are smart enough to make it as consultants or willing enough to work the hours men do. No its not discrimination or a glass ceiling. Also men care for children and elderly too depsite working harder and longer hours in their own jobs. Men get little help. Yes Curie was a woman, and all of womens greatest contributions came before feminism. Since then they have struggled badly to keep up with men. Be greatfull to your men

I stay in shape,by working out & exercize! But I have to say do we really want to be like women,when it comes to they're obsession with beauty along with fitness,I've seen allot of pretty girls have an extremely shallow mindset. @crypter27 I am no fan of prescription drugs and I'm not saying that they are necessarily 'safe' or wise to take. In that matter, I am simply presenting the views of health professionals. I have not researched enough into different drugs and comparisons to street drugs etc, to have a proper opinion on it.
I would say that speaking with a doctor and being prescribed something, has to be better than speaking to nobody and going to a drug dealer for a hit.

@crypter27 I saw that vid and he has a strong case. I should have addressed the issues of men's treatment within the system as well as men's lack of use of it. Even if a man seeks help, further harm is waiting.
I almost despair at how much anti-male bias there is. It can feel insurmountable, omnipresent and omnidirectional. It's like if you concentrate on one element of misandry, your back is exposed to the other attacks.
I bet the use of drugs in boys-only schools is near zero.

on the issue of free condoms, my sister asked me to go into the local family planning clinic and get her some, because her and her husband had run out.
To be honest, I didn't see any men in there at all, but what I did see was a couple of mums, and quite a few teenage girls, younger then 15-16yrs of age, and more then could belong to just the two mothers who were in there. I found it more then a bit embarrising as it was my first time so I had to answer questions and give details, about myself.

Feminists have been at war with men for decades. Health care is just one area of many where the feminist agenda has dominated. It is ironic that in western societies women live about 5 years longer than men yet receive significantly more health funding. If the reverse was true then there would be no end to charges of misogyny, sexism, etc.

I dont think women are able to see or understand what they do wrong. They simply dont care about men and dont even think about men. Its all about themselves and how important they are. Most women wouldnt be able to understand any suggestion that men are discriminated against, and those who can would take major offense to it. And as soon as a woman is upset by something there is nothing more you can do. So its little wonder men are getting no where. To help men, we need to take funding off women.

We live in a society in which women have more rights and freedoms than men. Society is MUCH more concerned about the welfare of women. Women-only scholarships, work programs, businesses, anti-violence campaigns. Women have more freedom and options from clothing to sex to hobbies, to lifestyle choices. Women don't have the responsibilities of being strong and silent. Yet, in the year 2011, I am STILL hearing people talking about how this is a "mans world" and talking about "male privilege".
