  • fantastico

  • Just had a dream, and this song was in it. Weird, I haven't heard it in years.

  • This video starts sucking at 3:02!

  • maybe those people who doesn't like it, just like the original from audrey better.

  • @LadyCooky Julie Andrews was the original

  • @hollys14 ah, really? i didn't knew, has she done this also for the musical my fair lady?

  • @LadyCooky Yes, Julie was the first Eliza when they did the musical in Brodway in at the end of the 50s. Then when they made the movie they choose Audrey because she was very famous in all the USA

  • @hollys14 i see. would have been interesting for me to see julie as eliza, but i do like audrey also very much and i think she did it very good.

    Thanks for the information! :)

  • "I could have spread my wiiinngggss and done a thou--have you you MET the French? My GOSH they know how to party!"

  • Try listening to a Japanes Actor-Singer, Seiko Niizuma, sing this song on Youtube. She is awesome! Especially, the last note goes higher than anybody who tried singing this song.

  • @JunmaiSake it does. but it doesnt make the song any nicer. i dont like her accent and fing her face expression weird.

  • TsuchiEnkou Julie Andrews did NOT sing for Audrey Hepburn in the movie.Soprano Marni Nixon sang for Hepburn.

  • @du6053 Yup - except for small lines in "Just You Wait" and maybe something else. Marni Nixon also did the singing for Deborah Kerr in "The King & I" and for Natalie Wood in "West Side Story." If she doesn't have some sort of an Academy Award for all that, she deserves one. It's amazing because she picks up the vocal feel of the different actresses and really tries to adjust so that it seems as though they are singing. It would have never occurred to me that it was one woman for all three.

  • It's funny when they say "bid" and "hid" for "bed" and "head"

  • Julie Andrews didn't want to be in the movie because her and Rex Harrison didn't like each other, but she was happy to sing for Audrey Hepburn :)

  • @TsuchiEnkou That is not true. They didn't cast her because she wasn't a "well known" actress. Rex Harrison wanted her to be in the movie.

  • The Tenth Doctor sang this...

  • @JimmyPagecovers I'm SOO glad there's someone else here who knows that! Lol!

  • @glee4ever28 judging from your name I'll bet your taste and musical judgement is somewhat flawed. Audrey Hepburn had a fine voice.

  • @cizzam21 Audrey Hepburn also didn't sing the song in the movie.

  • This song is definitely about sex

  • @Stairc why would you twist it around, obviously you have mommy daddy problems... seriously.

kids listen to this you pervert.

  • @cutieXnicegrl The era of musical theater, particularly back then, had a strong focus on sensuality that they tried to subtly (key word is subtly) evoke whenever they had the option. Anges de Mille lectured the creators of Oklahoma on needing more sexuality in the first act when they were originally crafting the show (it was called 'away we go' back then and flopped horribly before major rewrites to make it the classic it now is). This is an expression of that. Just listen to the lyrics.

  • I wish My Fair Lady (Movie) had Julie's singing at least.. I have heard so many versions of this song (Marni Nixon, Audreh herself!!!!, and even FRANK SINATRA!! plus so many other stage versions) but none of them even compare to Julie Andrews' rendition..

  • The more I listen to this song the more addictive it gets.

  • I love her voice so much :] Julie Andrews has such a lovely singing voice. (And so does Marni Nixon) (Also, Audrey Hepburn has a lovely singing voice which she showed in Breakfast At Tiffany's)

  • @nickjoekevinrox audrey cant sing

  • @glee4ever28 Yes, she can. Ever heard Moon River?

  • I wish she could have played Mrs Lovett in Sweeney :(

  • I wish I could sing like that....

  • Why does it just stop?

  • On the bright side, Julie starred in Mary Poppins instead of My Fair Lady

  • This morning I drove into work belting out this song (lyrics were dutifully mangled). Don't ask me why it just entered my head...now it won't leave.

  • Sunt foarte emotionata ! Fac comentariu mai tarziu , va rooooog !

    Teodora Stoica

  • What happened to Julie's voice was an unthinkable tragedy.

The first time I heard this song was at a college talent show. The girl singing it gave an astounding performance of this terrific song. I would have been honored to lose to her. as it was, we both lost, and the winner was nothing special.

  • @musicmandon1 That is how those things work, neither you or the really good person win and the so-so act wins.

  • 24 people couldn't have danced all night.

  • Julie Andrews looked much younger when she was acting

  • I think my favorite song from the entire show.

Great show, great music, great everything...

  • what a beautiful voice

  • I love Julie Andrews and this comment is not derogatory, it's just a fact. The lyrics in this song could be taken way out of context. It sounds as if she's talking about doing the horizontal hula for the first time. Listen closely, and you'll catch on to what I'm saying.

  • @DawnmariePW Oh dear, I wish I had never read your comment 0.0....LOL!!!!!

  • On a test online, there was a question that said "Who is the perfect person?" Answer: "Julie Andrews"

  • my only passion <3

  • Julie Andrews is the most fantastic woman who has ever lived. The greatest singer. No matter what, she is my favorite idol of all. Meeting her would be a real dream come true! I hope I could meet her one day.

  • WHY WAS JULIE NOT CAST IN THE FILM?!?!?!?

  • @USofMilitaryPower94 she was doing Mary Poppins at the time

  • @USofMilitaryPower94 The film producers just didn't believe Julie Andrews would transfer onto the screen well, that she "wasn't photogenic enough." There was also mutterings about how a stage actress shouldn't be the leading lady of a 17 million dollar movie (which was a lot back then). But think of it this way, because she was (slightly) snubbed by the producers of 'My Fair Lady' she was open to do 'The Sound of Music'!!!

  • @USofMilitaryPower94 cause she choose to do the role of mary poppins instead

  • i seriously want to talk to the 23 people who disliked this. They need help! How could anyone in their right mind dislike this?!

  • I covered this song, but I'm unsure how to post a video response...LOL. Anyway if you would like to see it, check out my page! This is one of my favorite songs to sing!!

  • UGHHH that clarity, that bell like quality, its like the sun shining in the morning! Her voice like the rays of the sun.

  • such a lovely song :) <3

  • She's my inspiration. <3

  • I love Audrey Hepburn!!

Seras siempre la mejor Eliza que haya existido.

    Ella era increible...

  • I LOVE JULIE ANDREWS! she inspired me to sing and become the best i can be. Now i can sound like her:)

  • Good to hear the original and best.

Please have alisten to me singing this song on my channel.

    I am 10 years old.

    Thank-you.

    Katie.

  • Why is this song in my head? O_O

  • Julie has been my fav actress since I was 2!!! I think Audrey played the part of the cockney flower girl well in the movie though, I couldn't imagine Julie scowling in the fashion that Audrey Hepburn lit up the silver screen with!

  • They're remaking this. -.-

  • Really nice voice and control on the quality.I think great skill and practice is requred to sing so effortlessly this song

  • 20 people could not have danced all night.

  • Stop bashing Audrey! Fuck.

    She was amazing.

    So was Julie.

They both are/were amazing women and actresses... Julie just happened to have a better voice. Oh boo-hoo, Audrey couldn't sing. But Audrey is the only one who fits Eliza's character, and she, IMO, was a better actress then Julie.

Julie can sing better then Audrey, and Audrey could act better then Julie.

    So they're even.

    Ugh.

    STFU Audrey haters.. T_T

I keel you in your sleep.. >.>

    (Note, I'm joking.. kind of..)

  • @KikyoChanXD As much I think Audrey was an incredible actress, in this case I am for Julie. I grew up listening to the original Broadway Cast album (Rex Harrison, Julie Andrew, Sterling Holloway), and I cannot imagine anything surpassing it. In the movie Harrison is walking through the role, Holloway is starting to show his age, and I feel Audrey was handled badly in some of the scenes. (She is almost treacle in "Woudn't it be Loverly").But please do not think that I hate her for even a moment,

  • @KikyoChanXD i'm not an Audrey hater... i Agree that Julie can sing better than Audrey but i don't think Audrey can act better than Julie. She won the Academy for best actress against Audrey right. lets just put it this way

    .

Julie's singing skills is far more superior than Audrey's but they equal in acting skills.

    .

well whether you agree or not i think Julie and Audrey are still Goddesses when compared with actors that we have today.

  • Sorry, I meant to say she did the voices of one of the animals in the barnyard scene...the geese!! Marni did!

  • 20 people couldn't have danced all night :)

  • I love her.

  • the meanies who dislike this suck

  • hey guys! please please please check out my friends' doing this at a concert. one is playing the piano, one is singing. both absolutly amazing!!!! thanks

    /watch?v=77CAXd99JyI

  • I prefer the glee version, I don't know why ... :/

  • @chouquetteamour because you're gay and can't recognize real talent that's why.

  • @LoveOlderWomen Who are you for say that ? Gay isn't an isult ! (I'm not English so I don't speak well) It's not my generation ! So I don't like !! I know what is the real talent, yes, she has a real talent, but it's not Julie that I don't like, she has talent, but I PREFER the version of MY generation !

  • @chouquetteamour this is why i hate my generation of music, there is no originality!!!... new and upcoming younger artists keep bastardizing someone elses work and then take credit from it... i hate singers who don't even know how to create their own materials.

    .

this is also the exact same reason why i keep digging musical treasures from way way back... the only problem is there's always some random person who suddenly butts in and remind me of how "BULLCRAP" the music industry is today... O_o

  • @LoveOlderWomen I don't understand all, but, I understant that you don't like new singers etc... But, it's not bad to like ... somethings (?). I don't say I don't like old songs (for me, 'cause I'm 14 ^^), I love the Beatles, the French old music ..... So, sorry, but I say what I think, and I hope you understand me :).

  • @LoveOlderWomen oh the way you phrased that makes you look like a complete idiot.

Singer who don't even know how to create their own materials... wait, do you think Julie Andrews created this song?

Please, go try to learn your facts right and then come back, pretentious douche.

  • I would definately say Julie had the better voice than Marni. Marni's was a nice voice, but Julie's definately overshadows Marni. She played Sister Sophia in THE SOUND OF MUSIC with Julie Andrews! So there was no hard feelings of Marni by Julie, because of the MY FAIR LADY dubbing of Marni's voice....as well Marni dubbed her voice in the barnyard scene of MARY POPPINS

  • @cd72 No no no, she didn't dub Julie, she did the voices of the 3 Cockney geese :P

  • Where's the end?

  • Dej älskar jag för du är så underbar, Mary Poppins, med allt annat!

  • This is exactly how I felt when I went ballroom dancing for the first time.

  • Julie may have lost her singing voice, but it'll never change the fact that she is a legend, and she'll never lose our respect and love.

  • @RichardElden omg... how can u not like that movie?

  • Oh, how pretty!

  • Julie andrews why are you the greatest?

  • Music that feel's real''''''''''''

  • Her voice.. I am so addicted the the warmth of her voice :P

  • Julie Andrews is so amazing!!<3

She truly is a real lady.

    <3

  • In the film Hepburn was dubbed by Marni Nixon, whose voice is every bit the equal of Julie Andrews. In reality, there's no need to put any of them down; the film obviously deeply affected a lot of people, and so did Andrews in the stage version. I personally worshipped both Andrews and Hepburn, with maybe a slight edge to Andrews. OTOH, I've developed a pretty healthy respect for Nixon since finding out I was worshipping her at the same time.

  • @voronwae It wouldn't bother me, but I don't like the fact that they didn't even consider Julie because she "wasn't experienced enough."

  • @voronwae

Agree with you 110%. In fact, Marni Nixon and Julie Andrews sang together in "the Sound of Music", Marni Nixon as a sister in "How do you solve the problem of Maria." The two became good friends after the movie, see the special feature of the Sound of Music in the Blu Ray DVD version.

  • I never really got why Hepburn was thought to be so great. She's nowhere near as talented as Julie. Many people could have done MFL just as good. I think Raquel Welch could have done it but she was only 24 and basicly unknown. That said Hepburn did okay with it, I still enjoy the picture with her in it.

  • @impassable I don't think Andrews was talented, rather, she was naturally gifted with a four octave voice from childhood. Hepburn was the best at making the best out of what she had.

  • I wish Julie Andrews played in my fair lady D: her voice is soooooooooo amazing :D

  • OMG lol why does it just end? so anti climatic :(

  • Audrey all the way....

  • It ROYALLY sucks that Julie Andrews lost her singing voice. She was amazing!

  • I LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL LADY!!!

  • NOW they're DANCING huh?

  • Julie Andrews is my idol. She's just so amazing!

  • I like her version better than the one in the movie.

  • @RichardElden I'm still trying to figure out where he got the idea that she wouldn't be a box office draw. She was the star of the most successful Broadway musical of all time and in those days they were a bigger deal than they are now. Via the wonderful medium of television she was known to millions of people. He made some pretty stupid decisions and a lot of them in the name of cash.

  • What key is this in???? Is there sheet music for this version? Please answer ASAP i want to sing it in her octave, not audrey hepburns!

  • If there was ever a chance, I would have really loved to see a Julie Andrews-version of My Fair Lady. This is not to say that Audrey Hepburn was not good. This is only my hope to see yet another face of Julie Andrews.

  • Julie Andrews is one of the greatest things to appear on Earth. I grew up with her in Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music, and hearng her voice is like hearing the angels singing.

  • classic love movies like this and im 20

  • I adore Julie Andrews :)

  • @tylove110

I know! I can not believe her five octave range in Victor Victoria. What sucks is that that's when she got nodules and that was the beginning of the end of her singing career. IF YOU ARE GONNA SCREW UP JULIE ANDREW'S VOICE, DON'T EVEN TRY TO OPERATE ON HER, ASSHOLE! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!

    Lol

  • @PEACEiful Actually, Julie Andrews at one time had a singing range of four (4) octives. She is and always will be an amazing, classy, and gorgeous woman - a true "gift" to planet earth. Andrew's voice and acting skills were far superior to anything Audrey Hepburn muster for the My Fair Lady movie version. Hepburn's voice was dubed "out" in the MFL movie because it was just like her acting - mediocre and overrated. Jack Warner was a true idiot.

  • hehe i love this sends me to sleep sounds really posh :P lmao love her

  • @PrinceJrJoe me too. and, ignore the vote down...:D clicked the wrong one

  • Julie did "My Fair Lady" on Broadway for months. She is the best!

  • I LOVE Julie Andrews!!!

  • There will be no one else like Julie Andrews, a real lady.

  • @JulietteBurke It should've been her not Audrey who i'm pretty sure had to dub it all...and made it sound SO Unrealistic

  • @JulietteBurke

agree with you thoroughly...she's a real lady...so pleasant to listen to her singing...what pleasure!

  • It saddens me, she can no longer sing. Such a beautiful voice!

  • @snhdotcom I thought she could still sing kinda sorta :P

  • This is so much better than Audrey Hepburn singing the same song!!!! Audrey was amazing though.

  • @ElisabethSwannRULES You mean "Marni was amazing", I'm sure. I LOVE Audrey, but she was no singer by any means. Marni Nixon was hired for (almost) all of the Eliza's singing in that film.

  • @JuanMacready You know what you probably sit at home with 10 cats and you and your talentless self can go jump of the highest cliff you can find and i hope you turn into a vegetable for ever AUDREY was an amazing person and if you actually had a soul i would say your going to hell but clearly you don't have one. Bringing some one's terminal illness into your opinion just proves your the lowest a human can get.

  • @JuanMacready Well I do agree that Julie Andrews would have been better for the role, but must you really call Hepburn talentless or cancer-ridden? That's simply being mean. Hepburn was a wonderful actress. Not the best singer, but still a wonderful actress. And she should be recognized for her own talents, not put down for the ones that she doesn't possess.

  • @JuanMacready lol why are u called juan thats a womans name?

  • @JuanMacready well, seeing as you dont seem too smart, Julie couldnt have, since she was filming Mary Poppins at the time this was filmed.

  • Julie's voice was so crisp yet powerful.

  • i really don't like this JuanMacready fellow.

  • I personally feel no one can ever sing this like she does

  • the end here is just plain ugly, like falling off a cliff. Please repost with the whole song.

  • i love julie andrews and yes i do prefer her over audrey hepburn but hepburn was fantastic in the movie even if it wasn't her own voice. the only reason i like julie better is because my favourite movies when i was a kid were mary poppins and the sound of music. love her !!! miss her voice so much, she made up my childhood.

  • Leave this with the class wars. All done. They lost

  • i miss her voice. she was freakin pro. cool(: haha

  • she is sooo beautiful in every wayy

  • It must bring songs to her heart when Julie thinks of the unmitigated JOY she's brought to so many for so long! God bless ms Andrews!

  • Where does this recording come from? This is definitely NOT the version I know from soundtrack. But I love it! She sounds here even more fabulous :)

  • DAME she sings so butifuly

  • Julie Andrews is one of the most respected loved singer in the world.

  • @theoneandonlySS1995 There are still good singers that do well nowaday. Susan Boyle, Sarah Bringhtman and the most recent Jackie Evancho etc. None of them use autotune etc crap. Any many youngsters are inspired by them.

  • @iamthebookthief You're just jealous at SuBo. I grow up listen to Julie Andrew as one of my favor voice when I was young. Now, I bought both SuBo and Jackie Evancho CD. Both my favors. Are you going to say Jackie is awful too. Hmm, maybe you hate Simon Cowell products.

  • THE most beautiful voice ever!

  • she was and is beautiful

  • oh goodness.... Julie Andrews is absolutely, completely phenomenal.

  • wow. we could have at least finished the song...

  • 13 idiots.

  • I freaking love her!

  • i need 13 coffins

  • @JohnnyDfan911 14 now......

  • @JohnnyDfan911 oh no! there are 20 of them now... i don't have coffins but i do have 20 Potato Sacks.

  • @LoveOlderWomen haha Potato sacks will work just fine :) lol

  • I believe the word for her is "scrumptious"..........

  • @pensacola321 supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

  • I could have listened to this all night.........

  • If you want to see the reincarnation of Julie's voice, search Hollie Steel....

  • I Really Love This!

  • Hi All! PLEASE do not waste your time replying to Juan Macready. He is all over YouTube, spewing vile and vicious comments about:

    Dick Van Dyke

    Sally Ann Howes

    Audrey Hepburn

    "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"

    "Mary Poppins"

There is absolutely NO point in arguing with him. He is a pathetic loser who loves to rain on everyone's parade. He will NOT give up. His statements are all LIES and UNTRUTHS. If you were all smart, you would simply mark everyone of his comments as SPAM. He's not worth your time.

  • @Scott6263 have these people actually got better things in life to do other than make stupid comments about talent people? Pathetic.

  • @discoenergy I couldn't agree with you more. He is totally pathetic and useless. Nothing but vile garbage comes out of him. A complete waste.
