Bob Mcgrath Tricked Maria in a Skit into flexing her Bicep. Long before Women bodybuilder, Boxers, Police. Women in Olympics didn't lift weights, run marathons. Her bicep was huge. She dropped her head and laughed at herself. I thought she'd been cutting sugar cane in Cuba! I think Her husband was involved. Mcgraph tricked them both into flexing. She put her husband to shame!
Now she says she was a construction worker! Rita Moreno stayed young forever too. But not this young!
I never really sympathised with the different races on sesame street any more than any of the other characters, because here in Australia, back in the 1980's, you didnt see many people of different races. But Sesame street taught me to accept people for who they are, in a very important way, because I saw everyone as the same, not different. I grew up really liking Linda, the show taught me that deaf people are special, and now I have a deaf partner, and I think he's special too.
Magnificent interview. Sonia is incredibly intelligent, and it's SO interesting to hear her talk about all of this. I've watched her since I was 2 years old. Just the sound of her voice makes me happy. :)
