Wrong, self parking is for people who find it difficult to park their car, There are some people that find it impossible to park their car and if they try really hard to do it they end up crashing.

@userhaker94 Cars in the first place are the ultimate lazy devices though, adding self parking is a tiny amount of extra lazy :p I don't think this is about being lazy, it's just the logical progression of technology, I'm not about to go buy one of these cars until they can actually park better than I can, not because it's easier. I'm sure we will have self driving cars in maybe 30 years which can drive 10x better (and faster) than I can.

You can always walk/run if you don't want to be lazy...

I don't think so, I thinkg this video is a fake . But, there are many car manfuctors who have parking assist systems (BMW, Lexus, VW... even Skoda...). VW Passat Park Assist is my favorit, you can go out of the car and park with a remote control (check VW Passat Park Assist video).

Yes it is true.its is available on some makes. I just recently saw a commercial for the 2010 Lincoln MKZ comparing with Lexus called Park Assist.I think this dumb feature...sure it helps who have trouble like: Woman and the elderly but then again, you have to think, why get a license? pretty soon we will have cars driving itself. I live in New York City and you become a pro at parallel parking and this technology is not needed. Prefer they concentrate on a technology that can find parking spots.

On a serious note: I think the parking assist differ from makes.LExus relies on cameras while the Lincoln are sensor driven. I think with Lexus you basically ride the brakes while with Lincoln, you have to give it gas and use the brakes when it alerts you if you're too close. the only thing it does is steer.

Oh yeah btw, they've found a way to access a car through a laptop/computer and a mobile phone and control it straight away.. there, you have a self-driving car :D oh wait.. a hacker is controlling it. Some people can drive just fine. It's the parking that they fail at. I can wlak around where I live and count at least 75% of the cars parked are double parked or over/touching the lines, or not centered in the space by any stretch of the imagination.
