Love it,xcept for the wheels. They should be on a small truck of some sort. But thats an easy swap,,,or to each his own.One of my favorite years 68 and 9 ,or in this case, both.lol
nope earlly model 69's had 68 door's they also made a ss model like this have seen three in my life with the numbers to back them up they had bench seat vinly floor mat an an one of them had factory gauges in the dash
I know these cars are cool but why do they have to cost so much I am only 30 and had friends with these cars in high school in twelve years they went from 10,000 to 50,0000 dollars. not that I am complaining i have a 1971 piece of crap chevy truck thats worth more than than what I paid in 1996.
Back when I was young, in 1971, I had a 1966 Chevelle SS 396 that I used to drag. There's nothing like the sound of a Chevy Big Block, especially when it's setup for racing! Thanks for the memories and mojo!
@gavintiegirl you are right. If you are talking about the "post" between the windows. Most chevelles didn't have this. I had an original 307 "300 Deluxe" with all the badges. This is what I think this car is! (69) for sure. The only info I could come up with was it was made in Canada. But that was 10 years ago. Beautiful car.
@clubhousemafia That is a 1969 Chevelle. Easy to tell from the tail lights. Also, the marker lights, grill, front bumper, etc. He obviously put doors on it from a 1968 car which happen to be interchangable.
@clubhousemafia actually your wrong. its a 69 with 68 doors on it, look at the grille and side marker lights easy give-away. 68 only has front side marker lights, 69 has small front and back. plus doors and bodies, and tail lights are all interchangeable ion 68 and 69.
its my first car too ive been having a lot of trouble restoring it so i never get to drive it.that sucks i want to keep my first car forever so i hope mine doesnt get wrecked
shit my first 3 cars were volvo's but i just picked up a 73 el camino decent condition 350 auto so my wife can drive it if her car is having problems, not alot of rust, 2 sets of tires....$800US... im happy... but my last volvo the one im trying to sell so i can work on the elky was way faster then the elky
We have a winner! Only 8k born with a v8, this is one of them. However, this car is NOT an SS, nor is it a clone... just some SS/454 badging to advertise the mill. Notice the flat hood.
@gavintiegirl That's how the idea of a boxed frame came along. Hardtop>post. Cages increase rigidity too. Where I'm from not having a 4 speed is a felony.
damn, they must be lockin up people left and right"where youre from" cause I doubt that every Shelby, and every CoPo , and every Judge that is on your streets are the real deal, where IM from if it sounds this good, and runs this good, then I dont care if its painted pink with flowers, if it aint mine I aint worried. Its just good to see these cars and hear these cars runnin, so just kick back and enjoy em, who cares if the badges came on it or came from a catalog.
@HwyPony I completely agree but If its A regular Chevelle,Impala,Nova etc. These car clubs have some mighty stuck up assholes in them(you know, rich assholes that can afford the real deal).
its a 69 delux ss. very few were ever made very rare. difference is in the door wing windows and windshield wipers. I also have one. it came with a 427 ci but I've got a 454 in it right now. god bless the big block!
ya no i think that the new chevy trucks are crap and personaly would go for a ram 1500 (dodge) but the old school cars for chevy arent really to bad but i still like the the 69 charger with a 528 hemi better
actually 65 is my birth year.lol....but i have a 72 Malibu i made into an SS clone...doesn't have the SS dash though. I also have a 67 Malibu I hope to start working on soon.

actually the '69 ss came from factory with 396bb. 454 came into the ss game in '70 i believe.
dwnrety1 2 years ago
That is correct, but this '69 sports a 454 and was badged accordingly.
Original motor was a 307, as this car is not an SS.

Its simply a '69 300LDX post coupé.
