@jackanthem90 If you would look closely I never said I didnt like SOAD,as a matter of fact I think they are pretty cool.So that was based on your delusion,no doubt. Thanks for swearing at me for no reason.Stay classy my friend.
Can anyone understand when he says: "See the world as it used to be when you used to be in it, when you were alive and when you were in love, and when I took it from you!"
Mike Patton might have put some weight on, but he is doing pretty good compared to most 43 year old men! Plus, I would argue he's having NO problems with his singing.
Is there any question that Faith No More is better than System of a Down? They're both very good, but one group is comprised of better musicians and writes better songs.
I can't find it on youtube, it may have been on MTV, but these lyrics are about a vampire who changes an enemy into something evil, that will have to feed & constantly be reminded he's been changes against his will, 'till the end of time', meaning this person's gonna have to feed ea nite & it will ALWAYS be a reminder of his hatred 2wards the one who changed him. But of course, it was said that the listeners can take it any way. Patton's my age, Italian, & taken, sigh. I would love 2 write 4 him
It's possible he forgot the lyrics there, but of you've ever seen Patton live, especially in the dozen other bands he's in, he uses his voice as an instrument and always pulls stuff like that, especially live where he has the freedom to throw an improv "vocal solo" so know your know your mike Patton before you knock him. He's probably the greatest vocalist ever!
Jim was awesome but Jon and Trey both were great as well. Mike Bordin is one of my favorite drummers, Patton my favorite vocalist, but I really think Billy Gould is the key to the bands greatness.
@Hebron14 yes, i agree. billy is key. but i think bordin is equally key. these two together are the rhythm. no matter how much the others experiment, you can always rely on that kick ass rhythm.
@kjelloso "Open your eyes—see the world as it used to be when you used to be in it when you were alive and when you were in love and when I took it from you."
@frankenberry1977 actually the new guitarist isnt that bad... although jim martin would make the band complete... i believe this newish approach is awesome... come back to england!!!!
showing my age - saw fnm with metallica/gnr in rich stadium summer of summer of '92? bout 100,000 packed that place and had the biggest food fight ever. fnm was awesome. my buddy and i left 1/2 way through the gnr set. they were awful.
@jrblockquote Saw them @ RFK during the same tour. We waited 2+ hours after Metallica for GNR to come out. It must have been a "good" night for Axl, they were great.
@artiegohome - gnr pulled the same crap that night in buffalo making everyone wait about 90 minutes. they were so bad, they stopped playing twice and started over. i'm not a big gnr fan anyway and didn't need much motivation to leave early and beat everyone home.
Wait...did some fucktard just say that Faith No More is copying System of a Downs style? HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Hey, dummy...perhaps you need to learn a bit about music before you embarrass yourself by making stupid comments.
Faith No More was making albums back when the members of System of a Down were still watching Barney and friends and waiting for their balls to drop!

@chiefdoggydog this band reminds me of System of a Down. I mean, they are just copying system of a down surely. They should get their own ideas, and Jim Martin back.
@happylemon666 actually it is soad that is influenced by fnm and sound like them.fnm came out probably when soad were just teenage punks! so soad should actually try to get there own sound but that won't happen.have u ever seen serj do an interview? his ego is through the roof.fnm has influenced a lot of bands that are making it today.nothing wrong with that, but to say that fnm is getting ideas from soad is absolutely ridiculous!!! have a nice day!! =)
Dude, sounds good. So good that Jim Martin is turning over the pruning shears in his hands. Over and over. Wishing. Pruning. Bruising. Cursing. Pruning. Jim Martin's sound RULES. And Mike Patton. I'd just like to say, can't we all just get along?
Showing my age too. Last time I saw FNM (before Download 09) was at (the original) Wembley stadium, supporting Guns 'n' Roses. Soundgarden played too. Good gig!

@reignman400 well patton and gould have labels...it would seem really foolish not to....even just casually, no animal sacrifices for the record executives... but they would have to bring back matt wallace to produce it and andy wallace to mix it.
Marvelous!! I saw FNM play live a few times on their The Real Thing tour, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away (London in the early 90s as far as I remember...). They were great then, and they still sound like they rock. I didn´t know they were still playing. Niiiice :)
