P.S. #4 seems similar to Neil vanNeikerk's "black foamie thing" (though without the ability to rotate it -- which would be a lot to expect from a pop-up flash)
I think it would be useful to have all of the disks, or at least a couple of them. I like # 3 for inside, but can see where # 1 or 2 would be useful for fill outside.
Let's call this device the "Coloright POPmod". The "nickel" might be a "modPLATE". Interesting approach to the solution! How much of a loss factor do we have?
The bounce only unit, #4, would be useful only if you include a diffuser disk as well. The pop up flash units do not provide much power. That is why we generally do not use them. I am concerned that in many situations, a bounce only would not provide enough illumination. My biggest design concern is the attachment point for the disk. I heard your explanation, but watching the video, if there was a lot of movement, I cannot see the disk staying put, especially after extended use.
Hey guys - remember to submit your name in the link below the video so we can look at them all in an Excel Spreadsheet. Can't do that with YouTube comments :)
Quick Diffuser and a vote for number four. However, with other products you give a choice of flash options so why not do the same here with this new product. Maybe even some different colors.
flash pattern 3, gives a little bit of darken background and isolates the subject and still gives the hair highlights. You can also still see a little bit of catch light in the eyes
Have all of them in the box. There will always be the right situation for each of the light diffusers.

'The Symetric Flash Diffuser' meaning an even balance of light is emitted when the flash is activated.
The one I like the best is #4

A Didi (disk diffuser).
I like by far # 3 the most. #4 makes i just to flat. #1 doesn't work at all (almost) and #2 is just not enough.
But outside only #1 (if you should want a diffuser) will work since there is nothing to bounce to.

I like number 2 and 3 the best. Number 4 is flat light and not flattering to the subject. Number one sends out an odd light (IMHO) POP SOFTENER
