Nice heater. I have also started building my second one. My first one is a flat surface, but this one I'm working on now also has a curved surface. Nice job.
Thanks, I am not an expert by know means, I think the mirrors might help and I always like to see people try something new or different to improve the design .When I was building this panel I tried to visualize the air flow and it seems you are doing the same. keep us updated .
My temps have been hovering around 100 to115 deg.F with the fan running. My line of sight to the sun is not that great this time of year with the low sun angle and trees. I am using a snap disk set up that starts the fan at 110 F and turns off at 90F My snap disk is mounted in the top header in the center . On a sunny day I get 2 or 3 hrs. with the fan running steady
I started saving Coors cans as well, but I was worried that the temp of the can might be enough to soften the plastic liner, and giving off a plastic smell. Have you run into any problems with the liner in the can yet?
to tell you the truth I never gave the can liner any thought, I have had my heater up and running for almost a year now, When I first put it out in the sun not connected to my shop,I connected a fan and the heater did gave off fumes, but after some time it cleared up and has been fine ever since.I think it is a good idea to run these heaters for a while before they are permanently installed I think the cans work fine.Good luck with your project
