  • I have to agree that some items are good quality and current season while others are not so well made. I bought a top from there and in the same week I saw it in 3 different department stores at the mall, but double the price. Some things I saw were really not so well made, so you just have to look for things that are nice. I have once question for you. In a department store, did you ever see something expensive but horrible quality? I sure did. :-)

  • My stores never have current season. They also don't have quality product. Many times they have items with blemishes on them. They get the items that don't meet the standard that the store or designers want

  • When you save so much money on such products, look where it is manufactured. You maybe saving money at reduce cost, but also reduces jobs in America. Wal-Mart supports China as many American remain unemployed. Look at the label at were it is made.

  • I went to Burlington Coat Factory and bought 15 shirts and a Snow Coat for $150. It has been added to my list of stores that include marshalls and tjmaxx. But I had to take ross off that list because stuff is very low quality.

  • I love tjmaxx and marshalls once I get their I can't get out of their I all ways get my water their and my snacks

  • They pay their employees minimum wage and treat them horribly! Think about that! There are other retailers out there that give their employees respect and better benefits. Happy Workers=Happy Environment=Happy Customers=Success!

  • CURRENT SEASON!!!! LOL! No matter what you think, that stuff is so not that. Oh God! Anyways, stop trying to think that you're saving money by dressing like a minivan mom who thinks she's got style. Lady, you're ugly & tacky. Get yourself a real makeover. You're clothes & shoes are as hideous as your hairstyle. Ugh.

  • Tj Maxx and Marshalls purchase the left over crap from big name stores. That is what they do. Enough said!

  • My example. I bought in TJ Maxx some stuff Calvin Klein and it was not good quality. So after it I will never buy anything from Calvin Klein because of quality and doesn't matter in TJ Maxx or Calvin Klein store. So my idea that companies like Calvin Klein, Polo, BCBG and etc. will be not risk to sell something bad quality, even TJ Maxx because they need costumers. I hope you get my idea. Sorry for English :)

  • My another thought, since jean/cloth company make so many jeans and some of it are not meet the standard quality. (some of it might be bad quality then they sore it out and sell it to Marshall.

    (this is just opinion)

  • Well i bought stuff from Marshall. The difference is most stuff sell in Marshall was already from last season. Okay maybe some of it are current season. Let me give you an example. And compare the jeans you bought from Marshall for $20 VS $50 in retail store. You might find some quality difference. The color, the jean’s thread line might curve a bit,

The fabric might be same, it just the one you bought from Marshall is 5% lower quality compare to retailer.

    My another thought, since jean/cloth.

  • it really depends on which tj maxx you go to. the one in my hometown sucked, but i moved to a bigger city and the one here *its combined with homegoods* is really good. the homegoods is really good too.

the only thing is people are idiots because they think theyre saving money, but theyre spending 400 dollars on stuff they dont even need.

  • it would be rather pound foolish of designers to cut too many corners when selling to TJM or Marshalls. I've gotten pieces there from labels and loved them so much that I would seek out the full priced versions in dept stores or boutiques to have a better selection of size/colors. If something is poor quality, I'd judge the name as crap from there on. However, I HAVE seen items that I've thought must be fake, they were such poor quality. Maybe they weren't fake, just junk from the get go.

  • I have been working at TJ Maxx for a long while now. I'm not sure about your location, but at our location in the south....we do send stuff back.

  • Carrie, love TJ Maxx and Marshall's. Have found great bargains at both. Check out my video on 5 nice dresses I found at JC Penney for $60.00 Keep up the good work. I am a subcriber now, subcribe to mine if you like. Thanks, MIMSY

  • How do the mall department stores compare?

  • TJ Maxx clothes look cheaply made. You may be able to get away with it if you're 18, but not 28. And the housewares are something you'd expect to find on clearance at Pier 1.

  • Ahahah..Skank azz hoe

  • Wow she's fugly, no one even cares

  • @gunvor69 HAHHAHHAAHA , OMG I LOVE YOU ! HAHAHAH LOLL!

  • I worked at TJ Maxx for 4 years. There still is past season and "irregular" merchandise. Some things they have are "factory refurbished". Granted some things are current season and good quality. It is still a fun place to go and find bargains.

  • 105 for a couple of shirts and shoes? Seriously ! Not cheap madam not at all.

  • @batnana3 Compared to Goodwill or The Salvation Army $105 isn't cheap, but when you figure that she probably paid $39.99 for the shoes- which would normally retail for $60-80, and the shirts which probably would be ~$30-$50 each it is actually a really good deal.

  • wat the fuck u r so retarted 105 is for bitchs

  • My personal experience in their pricing strategy. TJMaxx start off with maybe 40% retail price but that price stays a very long time b4 you see a red sale price and even longer for a yellow clearance sticker. Department stores start with full price but reduce their price pretty quick (in 3 weeks) to 25%, 30%, 40% off and etc. I have to concede that occasionally I fine real bargains in TJMaxx, but you have more choices in color and sizes in department stores. TJMaxx is more like a treasure hunt.

  • They are not the only one that offer up to 60% off. Macy's constantly have ONE DAY Sale. On top of it you get those 10off 25 coupons. I easily found stuffs that are 50% off at Macys. Plus, there are a lot of stuffs that are found in department stores that are not found in TJMaxx. A lot of the stuffs at TJMaxx are brand you never heard of.

Banana Republic, Gap, Express offer 40% off entire purchase. There are a lot of deals out there. Just shop around.

  • More info of my experience. The place where I work sell jeans that comes alone with belt. Due to TJMaxx squeezing in the price, we took off the backing of the grommets on the belt. We use regular thread instead of metallic thread. They may look exactly as items at department store because we show the same stuffs to all the buyers, that is why TJMaxx sell current season stuffs, because they place order like regular departments but with a deep squeeze in

  • MYTH# 1 Designer Overproduces or make extra due to extra materials

Making extra cost MONEY!! Factory people are paid by piece. No designer is going to pay for the extra labor, the shipping from oversea, the storage fee for the merchandise when no orders are place. The garment industry are dominated by the Jews, they nickel dime you to death. Do you think they are going cough out all the money and risk their merchandise being going to the gutter when no orders has been place.

  • @amui753 You sound extremely illiterate! Dropping anti-Semitic remarks on the internet is low class. Also, if you're going to harass the poor woman that made this video then you should definitely get a hobby and a life!

P.S. Learn how to read and write before you spew out "MYTHS."

  • You spent 105 bucks on that crap... You should hire a lawyer

  • I don't understand the part about ads and how much designers pay department stores. If the dept stores are getting paid more $ rom designers for promoting them in ads, why would the clothes need to be more expensive for the consumers? I don't get the logic..

  • U DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT DELETE UR VIDS

  • Don't believe everything she said. You are getting what you are paying.I use to work in a junior jean company and when TJMaxx buyers come in, they order in huge amount but squeeze the price. In turn we use cheaper threads and less embellishment. Although the merchandise may look the same as in department stores they are of lesser quality.

PS. I posted the same comment on her blog and you know what it got erased.

It says a lot that she is being sponsor by TJMaxx to say good words about them.

  • @amui753 You did post the same comment on my blog and it has not been erased, just to clarify.

  • @pocketyourdollars I put it a comment before march 3 that was much more detailed. However it was gone afterward, that is why i posted on YouTube. There is a fine print that said every entry submited are subject to approval. And your march 3 comment are replied within fifteen minutes of mine. I guess you do monitor the blog and youtube carefully and made me wonder even more how bias are the info.

  • @pocketyourdollars ur stupid. LOL

  • @amui753 WOW! i believe you, i go to (or use to go to) marshalls to get my son's polo's cus i would get them for like 15 to 18 dlrs less than at,say, dillard's. but, i noticed that after only 2 or 3 washes the shirts started looking old or got that kinda brushed cotton look on them.whereas the ones i got at the mall still look good and r a lil' older. so yes i have actually had the experience to compare and see that you do get what you pay for. and thanks for letting us know what goes on.

  • @amui753 oh and i forgot to ask you, what about those pple that sell the name brands for even cheaper than that, is that the same case as with these stores? im talking about those web pages that sell exp: polo shirts for $4.95 on wholesales.

  • @monyvalesti China make a lot of knockoff too...i doubt at that price, it would be genuine item. Labor cost is rising now. Material cost is going up too. In addition there is transportation fee. If it is quality stuffs I am pretty sure they would be losing money.

  • This video was great. It's always great to know what's going on behind the scenes of where you shop. Especially with stores like these that seem too good to be true.

  • @NaR1832

Garment industry is a business not a charity case. Everything counts, a button, threads, hangers, price tags, packaging the bottom line is making money.

Be a smart shopper and don’t be naive. If something seems too good to be true, then you are damn right. There is no such thing as free lunch. Your are getting what you are paying.

  • but because we don't want to spend lots of money on the same styles we can find in the mall we choose to pay $19.99 for a cute top which is similar to the one in mall for $39.99 even though I may have to be extra careful with the farbic (hand washing only or washing in Woolite) :)

  • I shop at these stores but some of the stuff is irregular of off a little. Some buyers have the opportunity to pick from good items (deep colors, good knits, good quality etc) while some buyers good to choose from what's left over like Ross quality cheaper leather/pleather, bad stitching, cheaper fabrics, etc. I worked in JCP the past year & noticed how both Belk&JCP had the exact same printed fabrics but different styles in dresses. And those same dresses were in Ross but in a cheaper fabric.
