in my opinion i would buy the n95 and an ipod touch. the great things about the ipod/iphone are the games, but you can do allot of stuff with the n95 (word, pdf, etc) and sometimes, buttons are allot faster then the touch screen, and most of the times, i can pres answer or reject, not to mention music controls without looking at the phone.
the corney rasied buttons are there so in the dark or feeling to shange song in pokey is easyer. and to be honist i love the look! better than ipone! the look is so simple and boring!. theres so much i could write for the nokia as its my phone of choice. after all its down to choice, but, i dont like touch as i never no if i have presed the right letter etc, and i like chuncky phones because want to feel the weight. navagation and the other topics were desgined to help the iphone
N900 is very powerful. I own both the N900 and N97. If you get the N97, get the mini. It's more refined than the N97.
Both have strengths and weaknesses. Symbian is the number one OS on mobile phones in the world. But the N900 is Linux. Far faster processor with a lot of functionality.
If you are a phone developer/hacker, of course, definitely the N900. If you just need a basic phone and won't do anything out of the realm of internet and phone calls, just stick with the N97
i laugh at the comments on this vid from a few months back saying "the 3.0 update will own all". WRONG lol, it barely did anything significant. and you have to pay for it on the iPod touch, thats just a dick move for apple

It's got GPS, Wi-fi, infrared, Bluetooth, 3G, 3.5G, 5MP, has a wider entertainment compatibility, it will pretty much read anything you throw at it. It has a much much greated application library, but you never said any of those features. Plus the awesome Symbian OS. The only thing the iPhone has is navigation, sleek looks and touch screen.

Actually, I think this comparison is pretty good, I mean it hightlights the basic stuff that someone would want to know. I'm trying to choose between these two phones, I'm kind of a tech-freak, so the n95 seems more appealing. .my main problem was the iphone camera for a phone so technologically advanced the camera was aweful. its only 2 gigs and it has no zoom or flash or video recording.and most of the thing u want to do on ur iphone u can do on ur nokia.unless u want to use some of those aps and to b hoenst most of the aps would freak out on the iphone and randomly close.

The iphone is more of a toy. It has these nice animation stuff but that's all you get just eye candy apps. The downside is you can only go to apple store unless you jailbreak. Nokia is still better because it's open to all kinds of apps. It's not true that the n95 is slow. It truely is a computer. I own one and never regretted trading it for the iphone. The best thing is I can surf the net just like a pc via skyfire.All videos and internet radios all good stuff way way better than iphone safari.

You obviously have never used an iphone. You can multitask, everything loads up faster, everything works properly. On a nokia n95 everything is slow, the internet is a joke, all the official and 3rd party apps are buggy and slow and badly designed, the sync is incredibly slow and buggy, everything is buggy, and there are no where near as many useful apps available for download as the iphone. Its all a stupid hassle. the video and flash are not enough to win me over with so many flaws.
internet is not a joke on N95. i can run a full flash sites through skyfire. i admit its a hassle to get very good apps if you're skills are only up to.. downloading and installing. one of the things that i like about symbian is because it's open source. the possibilities are limitless. AND if i break a chip on my N95, it's repairable. unlike the iphone, your unit is done once your warranty is finished.

if you take a closer look the n95 gives more than what your iphone does. the only you can get is the touch. if youre out in the street with the iphone camera is not good, no mms, so all i can do is just sit down and play games or browse the internet but limited ( no flash) now with n95 i can use the video, camera is great, i can browse internet desktop quality(skyfire), mms email i can do a lot more no just sit down and play games or music.

One quick correction, iPhone 3G works rather well watching movies and playing games for me on 6 hour flights. Battery life isn't bad at all.
If you jailbreak you can do many of the things that nokia can do, and with 3.0 firmware it'll fix a lot of the obvious short-comings.
That said, let's see what else Nokia and the others come out with.

shit... biased much? the N95 rapes the iphone in features. It's got GPS, Wi-fi, infrared, Bluetooth, 3G, 3.5G, 5MP, has a wider entertainment compatibility, it will pretty much read anything you throw at it. It has a much much greated application library, but you never said any of those features. Plus the awesome Symbian OS. The only thing the iPhone has is navigation, sleek looks and touch screen.

I also encounter a connection problem with Nokia N95 8GB when switching between 3G and 2G network. I don't know if any of you have the same problem. The Nokia N95 8GB has more drop calls than iPhone 3G. Please report your connection issue thanks!

Actually, I think this comparison is pretty good, I mean it hightlights the basic stuff that someone would want to know. I'm trying to choose between these two phones, I'm kind of a tech-freak, so the n95 seems more appealing. The iPhone seems pretty nice just that I want videocalling, and sending mms or pics through bluetooth which it can't do at all. I'm just drawn to it cause of the internet and games with the accelerometer. Still, can't choose one... anyone care to suggest one for me to buy?

so bios, if u want to compare between 2 phone, u cannot be so bios,consider everything not just in 5 categories,for instant the gps built-in, the ram of the phone, obviously the ram on n95 are lot bigger, it has 128 of ram..mean u can opened all apps in ur phone,and still has more 33mb left, without freezing the phone, the wifi, u said earlier it slow compare to 3.5 g right? b4 u say that, u must now that u can setup it to use 100mW of power, mean should go lot faster.. u should make a lot R&D!!

.my main problem was the iphone camera for a phone so technologically advanced the camera was aweful. its only 2 gigs and it has no zoom or flash or video recording.and most of the thing u want to do on ur iphone u can do on ur nokia.unless u want to use some of those aps and to b hoenst most of the aps would freak out on the iphone and randomly close.
and the service is sooo much better bottom line!!!!

The iphone is more of a toy. It has these nice animation stuff but that's all you get just eye candy apps. The downside is you can only go to apple store unless you jailbreak. Nokia is still better because it's open to all kinds of apps. It's not true that the n95 is slow. It truely is a computer. I own one and never regretted trading it for the iphone. The best thing is I can surf the net just like a pc via skyfire.All videos and internet radios all good stuff way way better than iphone safari.

obviously you don't know anything about the stuff your buying. update the firmware! yeah iphone is good for guys like you. make it too simple to use (basic touch and basic phone). there's a game in iphone where you press the button the longer the better. that all it does (very simple) and there's tons of those shallow apps in apple! You obviously have never used an iphone. You can multitask, everything loads up faster, everything works properly. On a nokia n95 everything is slow, the internet is a joke, all the official and 3rd party apps are buggy and slow and badly designed, the sync is incredibly slow and buggy, everything is buggy, and there are no where near as many useful apps available for download as the iphone. Its all a stupid hassle. the video and flash are not enough to win me over with so many flaws.

internet is not a joke on N95. i can run a full flash sites through skyfire. i admit its a hassle to get very good apps if you're skills are only up to.. downloading and installing. one of the things that i like about symbian is because it's open source. the possibilities are limitless. AND if i break a chip on my N95, it's repairable. unlike the iphone, your unit is done once your warranty is finished.

if you take a closer look the n95 gives more than what your iphone does. the only you can get is the touch. if youre out in the street with the iphone camera is not good, no mms, so all i can do is just sit down and play games or browse the internet but limited ( no flash) now with n95 i can use the video, camera is great, i can browse internet desktop quality(skyfire), mms email i can do a lot more no just sit down and play games or music.
