OMG this song brings tears to my eyes, according to some lecturer at my university that happens when we subconsciously remember something that we can't actually visually get back to our brains, I wonder wat is it that it reminds me of.
everytime i listen to this track, i want to cry and smile at the sametime. I want to pack up my stuff and go back home to Bloemfontein. I had the opportunity to see him live, electrical!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of the most simple and purest bass track i have ever heard. It is so sad.. I feel so sad and tearful whenever i hear this song. RIP Sipho... Just like Dube they go so young.
When this tune came out on Smooth Africa back in the day, I absolutely went beserk. This version of it is a bit longer and adds a few bits to it. It is an absolute gem. One of my few regrets was the fact that I too did not see him live. All his CDs are out of this world. My advice to anyone who wants to hear the bass played with class and style - go get yourself any of his CDs - NOW!
Mr sipho Gumede u rock my brother ur a true inspiration to EVRYONE No matter what kind of music one listen to EVERYBODY LUVS THIS SONG..Vincent..Vodacom Call Centre @ Bytes VS Siphelo..
THis track takes me somewhere I've never been. It's a pity that he passed on a week before his performance and I had already bought the ticket. was really looking foward to that performance...... You legacy lives on Bro Sipho
We have lost the man of extremist ideas in jazz and the hero.he was our African warrior, may god almighty heavenly father let him to rest in peace, the beautiful vessel is nt used bt eaten off.Have a peaceful sleep sipho gumede we meet in the heaven then.
Sounds to provide some comfort when there is darkness all round, friends now so few. Not a friend in sight to mourn with me. Gone with the comfort. When better days return so do my friends. When the light returns again, so do they. Until then I grope in the dark alone.
I lived in Southern Africa and became familiar with the trio Kalamazoo of which Sipho was a member. I lost my Kalamazoo CD and was devastated. By chance I found this song and realized that Sipho Gumede is Kalamazoo. His stamp on the group is crystal as I listen to this I feel his spirit in my finger tips. Simply beautiful.
