Well I own a 08 gmc Sierra ext cab with a 5.3 I could smoke my friends o6 ram regular cab he just got an 09 and that thing is nasty. I don't know how the crecabs run but the reg cab is quite impressive. Plus the same two truck one can run better then the next.
gear ratios and the fact that dodges are HEAVY ASS BITCHES is why even tho the dodge has more stock power it couldnt match the acceleration, now the regular cab models are more impressive...those rt models. so are the tundra regular cabs with the 5.7 in it, srt10's and lightnings are badass trucks but its sad that even with 120 hp more stock the dodge only beats the lightnings by 2/10 of a second.

l33 was not a option in 2004.....It was in ext cab 4x4 2005-06 1/2 pickups...315 horsepower same torque as standard 5.3....Dont forget the vast majority of these trucks have 3.42 gears......As a owner of one of these trucks I can tell you they are dead from 0-20mph....But it will (and has) torched 5.7 ram 1/2 pickups from 60-98mph

I drive a 2003 Sierra, and the only stock trucks I have ever lost to, is the SRT-10 truck, and the Ford Lightning. Somehow, with only a 300 - 310 hp output, the Sierra comes out on top. The new Dodge's, Tundra's, Ford's, GMC's, Chevy's or Titan's can't even hang with an 04, with 180,000 miles. GMC all day!
@retard194 hey bud im with you..if you have an 04 that runs like that..you have an L33 engine in it. Its not like the original LM7 5.3. There all aluminum and make 345 hp(somewhere around there). Its the motor they put in the SSR before they started putting the LQ9 6.0. The L33 is BAD.. 04 is the only year you can have it also. I have an 01 excab with the 4.8l(w gear swap to 4.56, and tune) Ill eat tundras ALL DAY. pretty sad they have 85 more hp and like 110 more tq w/ 4.30 gears. No match

Yes it did, and after watching this again, I just realized that Ram was a Heavy Duty Ram, either a 2500 or 3500, with a Hemi. Those HD Rams are really NOT made for racing, and have slower acceleration than the light duty 1500 Rams. So the fact that the HD Ram was able to beat that Sierra is incredible.
the dodge would have done better with a rolling start because it has a torque management system that wont even let it do brake burns. Id say from a 40 km/h rolling start the dodge wouldve dummied the GM

l33 was not a option in 2004.....It was in ext cab 4x4 2005-06 1/2 pickups...315 horsepower same torque as standard 5.3....Dont forget the vast majority of these trucks have 3.42 gears......As a owner of one of these trucks I can tell you they are dead from 0-20mph....But it will (and has) torched 5.7 ram 1/2 pickups from 60-98mph

I drive a 2003 Sierra, and the only stock trucks I have ever lost to, is the SRT-10 truck, and the Ford Lightning. Somehow, with only a 300 - 310 hp output, the Sierra comes out on top. The new Dodge's, Tundra's, Ford's, GMC's, Chevy's or Titan's can't even hang with an 04, with 180,000 miles. GMC all day!

@retard194 hey bud im with you..if you have an 04 that runs like that..you have an L33 engine in it. Its not like the original LM7 5.3. There all aluminum and make 345 hp(somewhere around there). Its the motor they put in the SSR before they started putting the LQ9 6.0. The L33 is BAD.. 04 is the only year you can have it also. I have an 01 excab with the 4.8l(w gear swap to 4.56, and tune) Ill eat tundras ALL DAY. pretty sad they have 85 more hp and like 110 more tq w/ 4.30 gears. No match

Ok the 06 under gmc sierra 5.3 have 295hp from the factory maybe this one has exhaust and a CAI to kick it to 305 shit still did badass against a 390hp hemi now put it up against a sierra denali 6.2 or silverado vortec max 6.0 and it would own that hemi everyone knows that chrysler/dodge are the cheapest of the big 3 and they loose their retail value the quickest so dodge fails again

Yes it did, and after watching this again, I just realized that Ram was a Heavy Duty Ram, either a 2500 or 3500, with a Hemi. Those HD Rams are really NOT made for racing, and have slower acceleration than the light duty 1500 Rams. So the fact that the HD Ram was able to beat that Sierra is incredible.

I've been in various silverados. They feel cheap and plastic-ish. Stock vs. Stock, a Ram beats a Silverado.
Furthermore, the dumbass driving the Ram didn't know how to race while rolling. You don't just slam the pedal down while in "D", you downshift to "2" and then slam the pedal down. Far better throttle response. Guarenteed win. If your under 30 mph before racing, then shift from "D" to "L" for awesome response.

Yeah, no I don't think you need to downshift from "D". However, those of us who painfully turned away from the Viper Ram at the dealership and chose the Hemi Ram for more practical purposes, we find it helpful when racing.
