True, True, no Truer words have ever meant so much to those of us who were used. Great song, I love this classic. Came out when I was 21 and it resonates so true until this day, Everybody Plays the Fool. Sung with great emotion and soul, like the man says; "There's No Exception to The Rule"
The man can sing, did not realize it was their dad, no wonder Cuba JR can sing too. Loved his Marvin Gaye version of "What's Going On" in Jerry Maguire.
I love this song. Most everyone can relate to this video. This song was written when love songs was love songs. Oldschool love songs told stories behind their music unlike to day lovesongs not not today love songs where's there is no story behind them. Just a buch of nice sounding lyrics put together that have no meaning to them.
I was actually at this taping when I was 8. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. They rehearsed in our living room before the show. My uncle Tony Sylvester is my mom's brother and he was the coolest. Their sound still holds up today, that was quality music.
I don't know what they're listening to today, But it cannot touch this! All that cussing and talking about bling this bling that. No message...."Oh Yeah, They say I'm keeping it real"! Real stupid.
Thank you Swatsmigle for posting this , I can listen to this great song over & over . In Fact I have listened to it 7 times tonight & will play again . What great music & voices by The Main Ingredient , This is another example of the ttalented singers & musicians during the 70's . Love this song , the Horn section is perfect for this song . I have added it to my playlist . Thanks again .
Ok this is white guy from the night in the royal senesta on bourbon street new orleans, any of you essence magazine guys or girls remember the night the tropical storm hit in july 05?,when the resident artist finished for the night we took over and you guys backed me when i sang the Tams "Hey Girl Dont Bother me"?
"Dig this." ... How great is that! Sure beats "Lissin' up yawl" or whatever we hear these days. Look how blissed out the dancers are. Makes me want to cry.
@stumpdonut23 he or she meant that the new generation does not have artists such as these not that kids dont listen to music like this but that there is no new music with this amount of talent such as there was in these times
They just don't make songs like this anymore. Songs with meaning that reach the heart. LOVE this song. I truly enjoyed the singing & the Afros. Thank you for posting.
Don Cornelius was an innovative genius way ahead of his time by creating "Soul Train" ! Don brought absolute 'Soul" and opened up to a generation way before MTV or BET. He's still around and god bless him. So many talent has graced the stage such as the Main Ingredient.i'm from a diversified city and when this song came out we all got together and enjoyed !
There is no guarantee the one you love is gonna love you. I cant agree more. That is why I am single. I wont be in a relationship unless I am attracted to her and she also likes me. Relationships based on one person settled for the other are not real relationships. I have to be attracted to the girl. I don't settle and never will.
always loved this song. cuba gooding jr looks just like his dad! his dad was great on the stage as well! now i see where his son gets his talent from!
