@cheergurlx86 There are 2 elements in the first row, the thing to remember though is that each element has one more electron than the one before it starting with "H" and moving to the right. So you can count the number of elements and electrons at the same time. Hope that helps.

@PCROW16 From the number of elements in that row. He's not skipping anything. They only tricky part is that 3D comes after 3P and 4S (which is the way it appears on the periodic table) You just have to remember that they first row of the D group is N=3.
