Chris Colfer is literally my hero. He's so... Open and awesome and brave and amazing. He's an amazing actor, but an even more amazing person, in this day and age to come out and be openly gay. And not just that either. He's so young, and a lot of people our age would let fame go to their head but he's just as funny and adorable in real life as he is on Glee. I look up to him. And he's hawt. :3

The reason they don't like Kurt is because every negative stereotype about gay people you can think of, Kurt has. They think he's just one big walking stereotype and they're thinking, "THIS is the gay character who people think is a role model?"
@SchweitzerMan Well, what I love about Chris is that he takes the stereotype, runs with it, and dares us to call it a bad thing. All the initial characters on Glee were stereotypes...The popular, bitchy cheerleader; the talented but annoying know-it-all; the nerd with glasses; the dumb jock; the diva...and yes, the flamboyant gay guy who loves fashion. Kurt has those "negative stereotype" aspects-- but he embraces and reclaims them as something no one should be ashamed of.
@SchweitzerMan What's wonderful is that the classic "gay" TV character is finally getting a portrayal that isn't just meant to be laughed at. Glee takes all the "uncool" aspects of different personalities and really plays them up to show people that they're something to be celebrated, not hidden. I think that makes a pretty good "role model." And Kurt definitely has negative personality traits (manipulative and controlling, to start) but I don't think they really have to do with his sexuality.
@SchweitzerMan Sorry for the soapbox, haha. Just voicing some thoughts on why the writers chose to come on so strong with Kurt's character and why it worked.

He wants to be on the girls team, is glad that he gets to be "Meg Ryan" in Blaine's Harry met Sally comparrison etc etc. Yet when he's named prom queen, runs of crying.
A lot of the writing this season was inconsistant and just lazy. And I'm talking for everyone, not just Kurt. Let's hope it gets better next season
@SchweitzerMan Oh, yeah, definitely agree about the writing. Well, I mean, the series sort of is just one giant plot hole (and where did Quinn's maturity go?!), but I've got college to feed my brain. xD Love Chris, though. I actually enjoyed his scheming, deadpan persona in S1, so I hope they go back to more of that in S3.
With Prom Queen, I think it was just the sentiment behind it. Like, I think every group has that sort of "I can say it about myself, but if others do it, it hurts" thing.
@SchweitzerMan I've got hopes that it will get better, but not a lot. I fear that Sue will revert to her old "I'm gonna destroy glee club" schemes week after week and Murphy and co will think they're brilliant.
I honestly fear that the show peaked mid first season. The worst thing about season 2 were plot holes, unfinished storylines, inconsistant characters and that god damn awful 90 minute lady gaga episode. It wasn't possible for my ears to vomit until I saw that episode
@SchweitzerMan I don't think the writing is inconsistant at all. It is one thing to make fun of yourself and to have people laugh WITH you and totally another to know that people are laughing AT you. I believe Kurt ran away when he was named prom queen because he thought everyone thought he was a joke when, in fact, he is exactly the opposite. Chris/Kurt is the bravest person I have ever witnessed. I love this guy -both in his character and in real life. Kurt Rules!
@ETSINTERIORS The writing is inconsistant. I'm a fan of the show and I think season 2 sucked because of inconsistant writing. Quick example: At the end of "Funeral", Quinn implies that she has something big planned for NY that mite sabotage the team. In the end, it turns out she doesn't and decides not to after being offered to get her hair done.
Shue makes a big deal about original songs and practicising before getting to NY. But when they get there, they have to start writing new songs! Why?

Plus, that whole scene didn't make a lick of sense. Shouldn't everyone have been laughing or something? They all just stand arnd
@SchweitzerMan Not necessarily. It was a slap in the face. It was done to humiliate. Kurt and Blaine gave it right back to them. They were stunned. They didn't know what to do. You will find, as you get older, that standing up to bullies is the best way to shut them up.

Seriously, why build up a Mercedes/Sam relationship just to end it as quickly as you began it, just so you can add a new BD for her named Bubba? Fat jokes, duh

Chris is a good 2-3 inches taller than Darren now. when standing still I assume Darren is on a stool or platform or something, but when they are walking side by side, Chris had to lean side ways and hunch his back and tilt his head just to make himself appear shorter. I think he should just forget that and stand tall like himself. No need to make the masculine man taller in order to fit social stereotypes.

Chris Colfer is literally my hero. He's so... Open and awesome and brave and amazing. He's an amazing actor, but an even more amazing person, in this day and age to come out and be openly gay. And not just that either. He's so young, and a lot of people our age would let fame go to their head but he's just as funny and adorable in real life as he is on Glee. I look up to him. And he's hawt. :3

@maytemeyer Well I've got one who actually still watches the show (Few others who did just couldn't get into it) like Blaine but at the same time think he's a bit boring.
The reason they don't like Kurt is because every negative stereotype about gay people you can think of, Kurt has. They think he's just one big walking stereotype and they're thinking, "THIS is the gay character who people think is a role model?"

@SchweitzerMan Well, what I love about Chris is that he takes the stereotype, runs with it, and dares us to call it a bad thing. All the initial characters on Glee were stereotypes...The popular, bitchy cheerleader; the talented but annoying know-it-all; the nerd with glasses; the dumb jock; the diva...and yes, the flamboyant gay guy who loves fashion. Kurt has those "negative stereotype" aspects-- but he embraces and reclaims them as something no one should be ashamed of.

@SchweitzerMan What's wonderful is that the classic "gay" TV character is finally getting a portrayal that isn't just meant to be laughed at. Glee takes all the "uncool" aspects of different personalities and really plays them up to show people that they're something to be celebrated, not hidden. I think that makes a pretty good "role model." And Kurt definitely has negative personality traits (manipulative and controlling, to start) but I don't think they really have to do with his sexuality.

@MlleFantineJavert Good points. They just also think the writing for him is inconsistant. All the time he's always referring to himself in a feminin way. He wants to be on the girls team, is glad that he gets to be "Meg Ryan" in Blaine's Harry met Sally comparrison etc etc. Yet when he's named prom queen, runs of crying.
A lot of the writing this season was inconsistant and just lazy. And I'm talking for everyone, not just Kurt. Let's hope it gets better next season

@SchweitzerMan Oh, yeah, definitely agree about the writing. Well, I mean, the series sort of is just one giant plot hole (and where did Quinn's maturity go?!), but I've got college to feed my brain. xD Love Chris, though. I actually enjoyed his scheming, deadpan persona in S1, so I hope they go back to more of that in S3.
With Prom Queen, I think it was just the sentiment behind it. Like, I think every group has that sort of "I can say it about myself, but if others do it, it hurts" thing.

@SchweitzerMan I've got hopes that it will get better, but not a lot. I fear that Sue will revert to her old "I'm gonna destroy glee club" schemes week after week and Murphy and co will think they're brilliant.
I honestly fear that the show peaked mid first season. The worst thing about season 2 were plot holes, unfinished storylines, inconsistant characters and that god damn awful 90 minute lady gaga episode. It wasn't possible for my ears to vomit until I saw that episode

@SchweitzerMan I don't think the writing is inconsistant at all. It is one thing to make fun of yourself and to have people laugh WITH you and totally another to know that people are laughing AT you. I believe Kurt ran away when he was named prom queen because he thought everyone thought he was a joke when, in fact, he is exactly the opposite. Chris/Kurt is the bravest person I have ever witnessed. I love this guy -both in his character and in real life. Kurt Rules!

@ETSINTERIORS The writing is inconsistant. I'm a fan of the show and I think season 2 sucked because of inconsistant writing. Quick example: At the end of "Funeral", Quinn implies that she has something big planned for NY that mite sabotage the team. In the end, it turns out she doesn't and decides not to after being offered to get her hair done.
Shue makes a big deal about original songs and practicising before getting to NY. But when they get there, they have to start writing new songs! Why?

Plus, that whole scene didn't make a lick of sense. Shouldn't everyone have been laughing or something? They all just stand arnd

@SchweitzerMan Not necessarily. It was a slap in the face. It was done to humiliate. Kurt and Blaine gave it right back to them. They were stunned. They didn't know what to do. You will find, as you get older, that standing up to bullies is the best way to shut them up.

I've got some friends like her too. The larger point is that every show has inconsistencies where the scipt is concerned and, if you look hard enough, you'll find them all. But what fun is that? Sometimes you have to suspend your disbelief to make the story work.

Like the "new songs" issue in NY; the Karofsky issue, that really stupid "Barbra-vention" scene, sue still having a job. this season was a drop in quality big time and from what i've heard about season 3, it sounds like it's not going to get any better. Seriously, why build up a Mercedes/Sam relationship just to end it as quickly as you began it, just so you can add a new BD for her named Bubba? Fat jokes, duh

Chris is a good 2-3 inches taller than Darren now. when standing still I assume Darren is on a stool or platform or something, but when they are walking side by side, Chris had to lean side ways and hunch his back and tilt his head just to make himself appear shorter. I think he should just forget that and stand tall like himself. No need to make the masculine man taller in order to fit social stereotypes.

You can think that homosexuality is a choice, but do not go around saying that it is a fact when there is absolutely NO evidence that it is a choice. It brings up the "Nature vs Nurture" debate. They have found that it does not matter how the child is raised, it is in their genetic makeup, but as of now, they do not have enough information to specify where and why. No one person is more superior to another so how can you go around saying that your OPINION is more valid than another?

I love the story of Blaine and Kurt. I love how when I was at the concert & Chris was singing "I Want To Hold Your Hand" he just stood there & looked around as if he was amazed tht something he was bullied for in school in real life is now helping young people all around the world to accept themselves. I could see that it was a special moment for him. We have no room to judge & for those who do r worthless. End of story. These 2 ppl are helping others around the world & could be saving lives.

this i dont understand. they have two characters in this show that finally realise that they have feelings for each other (by that i mean blaine :P), and they have their first kiss scene, which i was so very excited over as much of you were.
why is it then that a confused couple like brittana have been seeing each other as more than friends, have confessed their love for each other a few times this season and yet havent shared one kiss (and the neck grazing in the episode duets doesnt count)? :/
