Actually chrisuk82 it is cheaper paying monthly than pay as you go. u are paying a total of £960 for 24 months on a monthly contract without additional charges. but if u use pay as u go then u have 2 buy the phone which is £499 then think about how much u will top up ur phone in the same 24 months, guarented u will be paying more

Your actually much better off buying this phone offline direct from Nokia for £499 up front.

Lets look at the 4 plans:

24x £40 for 1200 minutes works out at £960 for the term of the contract

24x £35 for 900 minutes plus £150 up front works out at £990 for the term of the contract - you end up paying more!

The 18 month deals are cheaper but I still don't think they're worth it:

1200 minutes for £45 = £810

900 minutes for £40 = £720 + £150 = £870 - you end up paying more!

Only reason Iphone 3gs is better cuz of the thousands of apps. 2 megapixels more and a keyboard is not that much better, but still good additions to the phone. Though the battery life is not that well, not even good as the X1.

I've had the iphone 3g 4 the past year & the reason I have pre-odered N97 is because I don't like the camera on the iphone, no bluetoothing files between phones, mms, i can't record any videos and other little things. What i like about it is that I haven't had any problems with it. The materials used are nice.

I want the N97 because it has almost all the functions i need, plus I wanna try out the keyboard. I know the firmware is gonna have problems but with an update, it should be perfect

the iphone can only be considered good if you have a constant web connection, its user friendliness, is one of the major selling points, but thats about it. Capacitance screen tech is cool but without a stylus, your looking at a fingerprint magnet. Nokia have kind of packed the best features they can into this one machine, iphone will never beat that.

The N97 is hopefully not gona flop like the N95 (original) or the N96 because they are the two most problematic phones ever. (apart from the Nokia 6500 slide, that is the king of faults)

I do agree nokia always put out faulty handsets, but its something that a simple firmware upgrade can handle. Only problem I have is that the UK companies are the last ones to release the latest firmware. It really does piss me off. I have pre-ordered this but I already know I have to deal with whatever problems for like the next 2 months :(... on the plus side, this looks to be a very good phone
