Haters need to listen to what he says in the video. "You cant make a stock at home as good as knorr chicken stock pot", hes not saying stock pots are better than fresh stock. Hes saying you can't make a stock better than he can, so stick with stockpots.
I don't see the point of whining about the stock pots, yes, obviously a fresh stock would taste better, but those stock pots are a good and fast option if you're in a hurry, not alot of people would make a fresh stock to toss in a curry anyhow? Not me atleast.. :p - Looks good, btw. :P
I agree with him on making stock....just in time that is...
Make your own stock, make a big pot and freeze it in portions, so you're ready to R'nR....
it makes a HUGE difference... homemade or HG Stock from a glass is really mild.
The cubes make a spicy soup!
Kinda disappointed here, the curry looks way to mild, maybe right for kids but i would like it with a little more edge to it.... come on, he's british!
to all the people talking about these celebrity chefs who've 'sold out', these guys run hospitality empires, they have hundreds of people on their payroll who depend on them to provide their livelihood.
There's far better reasons than personal wealth many of these chefs 'sell out'
If I had 50 people depending on me for them to be able to pay the bills, buy the groceries, and someone came to me asking "would you take $2 million to flog our product?" my answer would be "absolutely"
@InnuendoXP If someone came to me asking 'would you take $2 million to flog our product?' my answer would be absolutely regardless of the amount of people relying on me! Seriously, this whole 'selling out' thing is ridiculous, I would say 99% of people would do the exact same thing - and it's not like the product is bad! Stock pots are amazing.

As for the people knocking this recipe - don't knock it til you try it. Fruit is actually far more common in curries than you think. Personally I think it looks great.
as much as I like Marco and these recipes, 'you can't make a stock as good as Knorr chicken stock pot' - sorry, that's nonsense and so obviously scripted it's embarrassing
@drplbiftin that's why it's called a pr stunt. but the message knorr is sending works like a charm cause everybody is now in the shops and buying knorr cause Marco uses it too so now we are all 3 star cooks.......It only revolves about one thing....MONEY. And he's not doing it for free I can guaranty you that.
Sorry but yes fresh stock is better but unless you haven't got a life you don't sit around for 20 minutes making a stock! And if something tastes good then whose to knock it?? He's actually getting people cooking again at least?
sad to see such a great chef selling out like he has. I guess he got jelous of the attention jaime oliver/gordon ramsay have been getting by being "TV chefs"
@Catsterrr Well, he could tell home cooks to buy a bag of bones, blanch to remove blood and impurities, strain, simmer with vegetables for a number of hours while skimming impurities, then strain using a $65 fine chinois to semi clarify the stock. But that'd be impractical for most home cooks. So a compromise using stock pot is made. It's really not so bad, and it's unhealthiness is quite exaggerated.
@uberathlete I agree entirely, I do make stock at home by buying whole chickens, breaking them down and freezing the bones until I have enough to make 4L or so. But I cook every day, and use stock pot in most of it as my stock takes time, effort, and would be used in a couple weeks. Stock pot is a great alternative to stock. Is it as good? Not by a thousand miles, and it can't be used in a reduction sauce. But a casserole, braise or soup it's great. Just use instead of salt, its salt plus IMHO.
@uberathlete or u could use the carcass from the bird you cook the meat from (like normal people) along with herbs/veg/seasoning
the guy has just sold out.... uv got a top class chef basically the saying equivalent of microwaveable meals are just as good as the real product. No prepacked cube/pot is as good as the genuine thing. I can understand if he said for convenience you can use a stock pot... but he is basically saying thats the best u can get which is BULLSHIT
@Catsterrr In the context of the busy lives of people, it's the best one can get without breaking the bank. Marco has stated in his other videos that since most people don't always have the time and/or resources of a professional kitchen, the stock pot is a great alternative. Most folks don't have a carcass laying around, and making a stock from it takes time, which is not an option for many people. The genuine thing obviously is better, but the genuine thing takes time and money.
Their stocks are just full of other ingredients that are chemicals.
