@tipsy09 dude u r right A4o is a shitty hand, especially out of position, you are often dominated and you're not going to make big money when u win, but it's also a matter of pot odds, he has to put 4,400 for a pot of 15,600, so it's almost 1 to 4 and with A4 those odds are always favourable, so the call is not that bad, especially if you have post-flop skills and u can limit your losses if u hit the ace and realize u r behind.

@tipsy09 In my opinion A-x absolutely allows to defend your BB when you get mini raised like this time. sure, if u wanna play very tight u want to fold anyway, but defending the blinds can be very important in some stages of the tournament and it's certainly a skill, so don't go that hard on this hand dude, u r talking like it's the worst hand ever played, come on

you have to defend this sometimes, even reraise sometimes if they keep raising you

but UTG raise? i dunno. you gotta know you are drawing to 3 outs or 4 spades.

if phil was raising his BB from late position often, then A4o looks better

the more you play poker, the more you understand how bad this play is, calling from the bb with A4, offsuit especially. like look at the guys reaction after, i would want to slap him. how do you not give credit for at least A-5? A5 to AK has him dominated, same with any pair, Aces to fours.
