Kiedy oglądałam ten wywiad płakałam jak dziecko.

Pani Irena wspominała, że niemiecka szkoła, podstawówka, wysłała jej zdjęcia z uroczystości nadania szkole jej imienia. I powiedziała coś takiego, że patrzy na te zdjęcia ślicznych, niewinnych dzieci i zaraz widzi jak niemcy takie same maluchy rozbijali o mury, strzelali do nich, nie potrafi ich kochać.

Nigdy nic na mnie nie zrobiło takiego wrażenia.

JAK nasz naród może sobie wybaczyć, że zapomniał kogoś takiego? !

There was many persons in Poland like Irena Sendler. Witold Pilecki (1901 1948) soldier of the Home Army only known person to volunteer to be imprisoned at Auschwitz concentration camp. He organized the resistance movement in the camp, and as early as 1940, informed the Western Allies of Nazi Germany's Auschwitz atrocities.. escaped from the camp in 1943 fought in the Warsaw Uprising, executed in 1948 by the communists.

You are funny- Irena Sendler is a true hero, she saved many people's lifes, and Pilecki is one of thousands soldiers, of course, I respect him, but it is something completely different than Mrs Sendler- she is one of the greatest Poles in history.

Pilecki was voluntary in Auschwitz 925 days, He organized ZOW - underground organisation in camp who was count 700 peoples, They built in Auschwit radio and send comunicates about Holocaust outside, He prepared general uprising in Auschwitz, coordinated with an Allied air raid and a Polish resistance attack from the outside. Allies don`t believed in his reports about holocaust. They taught that this is polish black propaganda against Germans. In 1943 Pilecki escaped from Auschwitz. He was hero.

and next example: Henryk Sławik (1894-1944) was a Polish politician, diplomat, and social worker who during World War II helped save 5,000 Hungarian and Polish Jews from Budapest by giving them false Polish passports.

You're right- Slawik is true hero, we all shoud be pride of him. I think that we can call him "polish Schindler"- he saved 25000 polish prisoners, and 5000 jewish. He died in Mauthausen Camp, killed by Germans

Dlatego, że Pilecki był głęboko wieżącym katolikiem i narodowcy go teraz głównie promują więc każdy niekatolik, lewak czy też liberał będzie starał się zrobić kupę na pamięć o Pileckim... bo wiadomo polityczka. Wkurzają mnie takie typy.

i`m impressed and overwhelmed by the strenght and positive-energy radiaton of Irena Sendler. I hope her name will be soon placed in polish history books for pupils.

This is a fascinating woman. Irena Sendler and Zegota saved some 2500 Jewish children from the Germans in Warsaw during WWII. Her story is incredible. This 97 year old Polish Catholic woman was brutally tortured by the Gestapo but never revealed where the children were hidden. She is being nominated again this year for the Nobel Peace prize. Both Jewish organizations and the Polish government are nominating her.
