One of Darius' best, and to the question below me My theory is this. Nice people always get flack. Nasty/violent/stupid people get praised in this world....
He's had chart success as a singer/songwriter, starred 4 times in the West End and got great reviews, with Broadway confirmed for 2012, even sung a full operatic role at the O2 and papers/magazines still refer to him disparagingly as a 'reality TV show star', not even singer. They drone on about Hit Me Baby...
Why treat such a talented guy so badly because of 3 minutes of his life, over ten years ago? I don't get it.
I lost my Dad a little over 2 months ago, and this song sums up everything I wish I would/could say to my Dad, and my Mum who I lost 8 years ago. Love your parents you never know when you might lose them.
I lost my Dad a little over 2 months ago, and this song sums up everything I wish I would/could say to my Dad, and my Mum who I lost 8 years ago. Love your parents you never know when you might lose them. xx
this song reminds me of a girl i met on a train. We were both hours from our destination, it was night time and we couldn't sleep. We talked til the sun came up. Describing our likes or dislikes, arguing our favorite movies and music..Laughing.. Even debating on life and love. She was amazing. When the train arrived at her stop we exited holding hands and shared a kiss... I was weightless. She asked me to stay, to not get back on that train. Ill never forget her
i was impressed with the video and i love the song but i don't understanf with running after the house scene..does his lover turn into horse or something? lol
@ronan4eva it wasnt his mum tht died cause my aunties frined works with his mum its for his grandad who had cancer and was ill in hospitial cos i meet him and he had to go early cause his grandad got taken into hospital x
I was looking for this song for so many years, I thought it would be one of those songs I would never find again, untill one day I had a brain wave and just typed some of the lyrics which i still had remembered onto Google and narrowed down the search untill i found this. Best song ever! =]
thank you darius sadly i lost my mum to cancer 5 years ago and she wouldnt let me listen to this while she was ill and now i know why, we played this at her funeral as she loved darius, and this song in particular thanks darius for expressing my feelings so profoundly x
I have every single respect to this guy and his talent. Didn't know he was in X factor and quite frankly, I didn't think he would need to join a contest such as to get anyones attention. I've loved this song from the first time and still do!
@DukeofSassington Darius was not in X factor, but the first Popstar program, and then the first Pop Idol 2001 - where it really was about talent and not the sob stories! he came third
he should have won the x factor series, but then simon cowell would have ruined his career and talent for a quick buck for himself, so i think he`s made the right choices and been a survivor and although it was reality tv that revived him, it was the right choice rather than skating on ice!!! he has remained faithful to music through out the ups and downs.
Great song. He was great with the acting in the video (though it probably was real emotion because of the song's subject), getting tears in his eyes on the closeups.
See Darius perform live on Sat 6th March 2010 in London. He will be singing at Concert In The Square (@ConcertSquare on Twitter) to help raise much needed money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Tickets are only £15 and can be bought from our website: concertinthesquare(dot)co(dot)uk

Well Popstar to Operastar has really showcased his talent, and he comes across as a genuinely nice guy too. His voice has deepened and gained resonance with the training, and I think he will go from strength to strength with this win. He deserves it!
Popstars made him a national joke. Pop Idol redressed the balance a bit.
But he built his pop career with his own creativity. He wrote all of his hits and every track bar one of his albums plus all of the b-sides except It's Not Unusual and Pretty Flamingo, a No.1 he covered for the War Child album . He's still writing songs for other artists in America.
His West End success was due to ability, charisma and hard graft.
Reality TV has only been a millstone around his neck.
being a knob on popstars got him noticed, he made a good career from being third, theres been alot of highs and lows , but thats the pop world for many,,,, i think his comeback as a serious singer as to a pop idol/pretty boy will shake off once and for all his dubious and embarrasing start,,,plus, hes a very sexy guy too
amazing

@chocolatofu
The video recalls Italian/French artsy films. The viewer decides what's going on. Is the horse representative of the energy/spirit of his dead love?
He walks through the mikestand, so is Darius an earthbound spirit making a last attempt to recapture life to be with his loved one for one more day?
I haven't a clue but I really like this video and love Live Twice.
....but I prefer Journey's End. Love the heartbeat ..... it changes the meaning of the lyrics. Clever
