  • The louder i turn my amp up the easier everything is to do!

  • Awesome!!

  • I really love his teaching style. He is magnificent at conveying concepts. I've learnt a lot from some of his articles and teaching material. Anyone who wants to improve the guitar playing should absolutely study Joe Satriani.

  • so anyone got the tabs yet???

  • his guitar looks so epic *-*

  • hate 6

  • figure 4 very very simple :D

  • haha joe u're just look like VOLDEMORT very jerk face but amazing GUITARISST EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • I've got my new year's resolution now!

  • Thanks Joe for your music, it´s very spiritual for me!!!

  • Shocked! ! Fast guitar secret tutorial website: guu.nn.cx

  • Excellent! Most people on youtube want to show you a particular run, method or song. I'm always left wondering how they attain those particular sounds. My hands never seem to be strong or agile enough to do it so I get frustrated and quit trying. This shows me how to build a foundation for doing those things. Thank you.

  • I need fucking lessons I kind of taught myself how to play. I wish I had Joe Satriani as my teacher to show me how to play right. I'm never going to quit playing the guitar even if I suck. I just enjoy playing the guitar, but I don't think I will be a pro like Joe Satriani or any of the real good amateurs on you tube.

  • I wish i could learn guitar from him T_T

  • @InfiniteD3ath Did you not just watch the video....

  • @LifeBloodMarketing

What i was trying to say is, that i would like him to be my teacher...big difference.

  • What gauge of strings is Joe using they look like 9s but idk anyone know what gauge of strings Joe uses ?

  • @TheFunkycrisp He uses the D'Addario EXL120, this means 009-042

  • Amazing guitar tutorial website: guu.nn.cx

  • Tried figure 6... I was able to play it... At 1/8 that speed...

  • What does he mean by ' move with as much economy as you can'? 4:05

  • @ZipperProject Don't waste movement, look up 'economy picking". It's hard to describe exactly what he means. Sort of, keep your fingers close to the strings, precise short pick movements...is the best I can come up with. The term is common, but I've never had to explain it before XD. But that's the idea.

  • @FearTheCalm lol sounds like you just explained it pretty good

  • @ZipperProject He means don't move your hands or fingers more than needed. To move economically means to not waste movement that slows you down.

  • @ZipperProject do what takes less movement, if you have a choice. dont move your hand position until you have to.

  • does any1 no how to play trololo on the guitar?

  • @mrfailford are you retarded...depends what you mean anyway?...tremolo picking as in playing as fast as you can on a single string, or playing with the tremolo arm in your hand

  • @iamsdeathgod no trololo

    the song genious

    and i can play it

  • @iamsdeathgod TROLolo learn to read fuck nuts

  • He do look like a turtle :)

  • excellent!

  • "I am Joe Satriani and I am gonna show you how to please girls*

  • looks likee voldemort

  • !!nice lesson... VOLDEMORT

  • When Satch talks about guitar, you just listen! He's just an amazing guitarist!

  • How did Satriani teach both Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett?

  • I cant imagine George Harrison doing this. Not sure what the point is - its certainly not musical. Why not practice something that sounds good and still builds technique. Ah well - some guys will be happy to waste their time with this.

  • @fieldfullofthistles Do you even play guitar? Just because something wouldn't fit in a pop song doesn't mean it's not musical or worth time to learn. Lots of famous classical guitarists wrote some really neat stuff that wasn't exactly "musical", but rather just to be challenging. Being able to play that stuff that's not pointless at all. Anything that builds strength at playing guitar is extremely useful to learn. But, it's guitarists who can include musicality and technique that are good.

  • @auroraman56 you are absolutely right, but dont waste your time cause guys like him wont understand why guitarists like you and me are sitting hours for practicing things like chromatical scales or arpeggios without any bad sidetones ;) keep rockin' :P

  • Makes it look so easy!!

  • wtf did someone punch him in both eyes. i sure hope he hasn't been losing sleep over recording music. cause he lost it after surfing with the alien.

  • Man I love his style of playing

  • Actually that would be 153 people that can't do this. If I could play like his warm up I would be friekin awesome!

  • Tongue Twister with your finger, xd

  • how can I get that effect?

  • joe = lord voldemort, yngwie = hagrid, steve vai = ?

  • @jinkazr perhaps Snape???

  • @jinkazr steve vai= hermionie hahahaha. Steve vai kicks ass though!!

  • 100000% better than watching porn

  • Looks like 152 people can't do this..........

  • Haha, glad that im on the right track. I started thinking, "i need to play over the whole neck" and so i developed some exercises not unlike what joe mentions at the end.

  • the 152 dislikes are from good wizards

  • He always looks a bit ill

  • is this guy sick or something he always seems to be physically ill when ever i see him fragile kinda

  • Hes got huge hands to be able to do the 1-6 hammer on and make it sound like anything.

  • if i was an alien, i could play jst like joe.

  • What do you desire lord voldemort

  • I clicked on the video just to see if there is any comment related to Harry Potter. People, enough with Voldemort and Harry Fucking Potter, we got it. It`s like that shit with Chad Smith and Will Ferrel. Jeez...

  • wurt kind' o strings you use, joe? vewy, vewy impoetant

  • 150 Dislikes? Like what the Hell? That's 150 too many dislikes for me. Joe the God Satriani. Everyone has their favorites and their reasons why, but to me, Joe will always be my God of guitar playing. He's not afraid to go over the boundaries. And I am sure I'm going to get a whole lot of comments stating...well what about.....I don't care because he certainly still rocks \m/

  • just to build up your strenght

  • JOE SATRIANI IS THE MASTER! \m/

  • he's going to kill harry potter....with a scale

  • amazing player and instructor. I walked away from this with a few ideas

  • now i see why Kirk took lessons from him

  • @supahsteven Too bad he didn't learn anything from those lessons, unless of course lesson one was penatonic scale's and lesson two indiscriminate wah abuse. (jk I don't like kirk's style but he must be doing something right)

  • you know what would be a great comp. album? Joe satriani, Steve Vai, and Buckethead on guitar, Kirk hammet, Brain (bucketheads dummer) and vinnie paul on drums. andon bass just Les Claypool and Gustavo del farra :) No vocals :)

  • enter your text here

  • JUST AMAZING

  • I really like this!!! Guys check out my version of heavy guitar, classical ideas and rock tech. its call clutch, its under my channel!!! Enjoy!!!!

  • Only Joe Satriani can live forever

  • Joe Satriani is an amazingly humble man and an unbelievably incredible guitar player...

  • He reminds me of Alexander Mahone in Prison Break but bald.

  • Repetition is the mother of skill.

  • @NoodleTheSlayer Practice it slow. As slow as it takes to get it perfect, even if it's incredibly, agonizingly slow. Gradually increase your tempo, but never go faster than you can play it correctly. You're going for accuracy here, speed will come eventually.

  • @NoodleTheSlayer practice.

  • whats the pattern for fig 8?

  • Every note he plays sounds awesome....

  • Это же Peavey Classic 30, верно?!

  • Joe Satriani is a GREAT teacher A BOSS at Guitar!!!!

  • maybe it's that fucked up hat, that gives him his supernatural powers on the guitar! :o

  • thanks^^ but everytime i want to do the string bending, my left hand thumb hardly hold the whole guitar neck :( i think maybe my hand is smaller^^

  • downstrokes are more natural for the hand and will usually sound much better. in other news, it doesn't freaking matter how fast you can shred guitar! I'm personally a fan of the more soul-filled legato sounds with bends and occasioal hammer ons and pull offs, but seriously, anyone who thinks increasing speed is more important than what the music is needs to realize he or she is doing it for the wrong reasons. anyone who plays to beat everyone else is only going to lose in the long run.

  • @monkeysgoooh you have a good point there, but if you wish to become a really good guitar player, you need to set yourself to high standards, if you learn to shred and kickass doing it and can still play the slower stuff with more emotion, i dont think theres anything wrong with that. I get what your saying but its seems to be a bit norrow pointed. and you should always try to out-do others in competion, great way to get better man, better yourself, dnt hold back

  • So... have you killed harry potter yet?

  • @Protcall oh dude that is not funny, omg voldemort and his shity wand could never achieve satrianis amazing guitar skills

  • @Protcall dude u made my day!!

  • @daikirainayume Thanks man lol

  • @Protcall valdemort can play guitar XD

  • @Protcall becouse he looks like voldermort?

  • @lobitas3399 Correct! U get a cookie :)

  • @Protcall oooooh thanks *cry's of joy*

  • @Protcall he must have killed harry potter this year with the release of black swans and wormhole wizards, potter just basically went "OMG HE'S TOO GOOD THATS IT I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE FUCKKKK!"

  • @Protcall OMG!!!! I knew he looked like someone SOOOOO familiar!!!!!! LMAO!!!

  • His technique isnt bad, but he lacks alternate picking skill. Petrucci, Kiko Loureiro, Gilbert, ... They all have far supperior alternate picking, rhythm technique compared to Satch. Maybee you should write: "Kiko Loureiro alternate picking" in youtube. And then post me an anwser where you show me Satch do something sooo acurate and technically complex.

  • @71GA aaaaaaaaand you are who???

  • Wonder if he taught Kirk this? :D

  • This is voldemord.

  • great tips, joe!!!!!

You`re one of the best guitarists ever!
