  • The cartoons of today don't possess the qualities of yesteryear. I remember watching many cartoons made by Filmation from the 1960'1970's, the workmanship was solid and very good.

  • I do not see todays animators taking the direction best set by, Lou Scheimer & Norm Prescott. What do you think hexseeker ?

  • @Dakers11

I agree. Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott were the best. I wish they made more of these. Or at least to upgrade or extend existing episodes.

  • I have to agree! Tarzan was one of the best cartoons! I wish they were back

  • @mom369222

Me too!!! GREAT GREAT CARTOON AND IS A PRICELESS TREASURE!!!

  • Hexseeker. I would say that Tarzan's movements were Rotoscoped, to copy actual human mechanics. It was successfully done to the Character's in the Animated movie"Fire and Ice". "Tarzan Lord of the Jungle", was done several years before this epic cartoon movie . Long live the Filmation creators!

  • Interesting ! Around the time of this shows original airing . Frank Zane's Physique was the talk of the time . 1976-1979. Lean, muscular with symmetry and proportion. Zane had won the Mr. Olympia in 77-78-79. right about the time of this Tarzan Lord of the Jungle. Even his facial features , show a strong resemblance to Frank Zane . Coincidence ?

  • That is interesting. Never heard about Zane (sorry I am European). but really make sense. Now I looked the pictures of Zane and he is damn same Tarzan. Face and even the postures of body. Thanks for sharing it.

  • YO TARMANGANI Alen .

  • Allah bless you

  • I have always been a HUGE fan of this cartoon series.....it brings back so many wonderful and great memories for me!!! I always loved listening to the closing title music at the end of the show....so cool listening to it again.....thanks for bringing back such great and wonderful memories!! This was when watching Saturday morning cartoons were the best....not like todays garbage!! We certainly were very fortunate and very lucky!!

  • These are great, thanx a lot. I remember watching these along with the Lone Ranger cartoon that followed. I don't suppose you have those as well? Nonetheless, this brings back great memories. Thanx again.

  • good stuff

  • Where did you get the dvd set?

  • I got it from a friend. Unfortnately the original discs were never made. This was copied from VHS onto DVD and some episodes are in bad shape but still ok

  • I actually purchased the dvd set from someone in the UK. I'll tell you how they pan out...Great copy job tho.

  • Pay no attention to the men behind the curtain. Ha H Ha!

  • I must agree the Tarzan running scenes r freakin´ amazing!! Bundolo!!

  • Filmation had one of the best animation depts. outside of Disney. Yea, they got a lot of flack for producing some corny toons like Gilligan's Planet and some others, but when it came to animating real-to-life people and animals, they did exceptionally well. Even the fluidity of the movements in some of these scenes with Tarzan running is incredible. Thnx for the post!

  • Thanks for comment. I agree with you. These scenes are amazing especially bearing in mind that they are produced 20 and some years ago. The only thing I don't like is constant repetition of the same scenes. In latest episodes (I am gonna upload them later), the filmation added some new scenes that are pretty cool (swinging on the tree before landing, coming down the tree, nature and flowers etc).

    Hex

  • Let me be the first to thankyou!

This means a lot to us.

    Best wishes!
